Introduction

Sennheiser GSP 370

This headset has many positive key features like 100 hours of battery life, noise cancelling microphone, good surround sound and a great comfort. This headset is little bit expensive but for that much price there is lots of things made in a perfect way.

Steelseries Arctis 7

This headset is the wireless headset with the 7.1 surround sound and a good battery life with a pretty much comfort and build quality.

Sennheiser-GSP-370-2

Design & Features

Sennheiser GSP 370

The headset itself is minimalistic, it does not have a crazy design to it. It’s mainly black and grey and it’s quiet. I like the buttons on the side are easy to get to and there’s really not many of them. You’ll find on the right ear cup, it has an infinite scrolling volume wheel so you can easily turn your volume up or down, it even has little steps in it, it’s almost like tactile. So, you can feel yourself lowering or raising the volume. On the left ear cup, you’re going to find the micro-USB charging port and on and off switch as well as a LED indicator. Also, on the left ear cup you’re gonna have the microphone.

Even though it is made mainly of plastic it feels very durable and just simple which I like it’s just simple, you have just a few buttons that you need.

You will get few things with the headset in the box. Those are wireless USB connector for your computer which you are going to need as well as a charging cable, the charging cables fairly long and micro USB, so for those of you that wanted a USB C connection, it’s still using micro USB.

Steelseries Arctis 7

These are completely wireless with a lag free wireless audio and the headset connects to a USB powered wireless dongle with a 2.4 gigahertz frequency with a range up to 12 meters for 40 feet. The headset rocks the s-1 speaker drivers with an acclaimed DTS 7.1 surround sound exclusively on PC. Surround sound is not available on Mac, Xbox, ps4, VR or other devices.

The headset control buttons are located on the bottom of the headset which includes a mute button for the mic, volume dial for the speakers, a chat mixed dial which adjusts the volume between the ingame volume and the chat volume which works on PC and Mac exclusively. This even come with a downloadable software to adjust voice settings which I’ll get to in a little bit.

These are well-built, the outside of the cups have a rubberized surface that don’t really creak or squeak when I squeeze them. The top band is made out of aluminum and it is a truly lag.

steelseries arctis 7 2

Comfort

Sennheiser GSP 370

On the headband, it mainly have two different support beams, they are made of plastic. The headset is mainly plastic but on the inside you have plenty of ample cushing on your head without getting much strain. It is fully adjustable, so if you have a big head or small head you go ahead and adjust it where needed.

Now, the ear cuffs are very soft and plush and they have suede type material that touches the side of your head or ear and it’s very cool and it’s nice and comfortable. your ears do not touch the inside of the drivers, they are deep enough.

Steelseries Arctis 7

For construction and comfort, the Arctis 7 is constructed out of aluminum with a ski goggles elastic band to sit on top of the head. I actually prefer to have an elastic band on the headset as they suspend the frame from digging to skull after 30 minutes. I think it’s something that most headsets should implement. The ski ban adjust by undoing the Velcro and retracting band from the slit into the top of the frame to the desired length to best suit your needs.

The ear-cups on the Arctis 7 are nothing special to me in terms of comfort. I mean, they get the job done but the fabric isn’t that soft for paying $150. So, they do keep my ears from getting hot with the porous fabric channeling air to my ears that I do like. Fabric themselves don’t feel that comfortable as well as a cushion after 30 minutes. The frame of the headset is very lightweight, with elastic headband the headset just feels like it’s floating on the head.

It’s coupled with the wireless aspect of this headset. It’s not restrictive at, I feel free to walk about and move around without a wire attached to my head. Overall comfort is pretty good. Even though the ear cups are not super soft and they don’t feel comfortable after 30 minutes.

sennheiser GSP 370 6

Microphone

Sennheiser GSP 370

This is the standard microphone that you’re gonna find on most of the Sennheiser gaming products and it looks very similar and it functions very similar. It has a slight flexibility in the middle with a rubber part, it’s not a really versatile when it comes to flexibility but for me I found it sufficient and you are able to get it close enough to mouth without picking up any breathing. If you flip up the microphone it’s going to mute.

I had zero issues using this with this cord or any other voice over IP. It just worked good. You would think that being a wireless headset the microphone might be a little bit worse than a wired one but I could tell overall it’s very functional. I do like the ability to flip it up to mute. They claims that it is the highest quality microphone but it’s not, it is functional.

Steelseries Arctis 7

There is a retractable microphone that is flexible to point into any desired direction. When the microphone is muted the tip of the microphone emits a red LED.

Like most gaming headsets, these don’t sound high quality at all. This headsets with a decent microphone are almost non-existent. The microphone is really small, even after installing the drivers and the software and adjusting the voice levels, the mic still sounded faint and muffled.

The microphone is muffled and light. The software adjust some voice options and you can enable a live feedback of your voice to the headset to make proper adjustments or some reason, the mic quality sounds better from the playback and it does during game or audio recording. I do like the feature of the retractable microphone though.

steelseries arctis-7 3

Sound Performance

Sennheiser GSP 370

Sennheiser is no stranger to audio. If you’re getting this headset to gaming, you are going to love this headset. It sounds really good. If I was playing a first-person shooter, the directional audio is great. The directional audio and the sound-stage is really good for gaming. As far as the frequencies go you can always adjust that, so those of you who want a bass or punch, if you’re listening to music or watching movies and you just want it to hit a little bit harder you can do so.

It is a closed back headset, the ear cups do hold in sound so you are gonna get bass in a little bit heavier than an open-back headset and it does sound really good in intimate and gaming and directional audio was a pleasure. Make sure you update your software firmware and everything for the headset, when you download the Sennheiser software it’s gonna be able to tell you exactly what version of firmware.

Steelseries Arctis 7

For the surround sound in the headset, it was decent at best. I mean you can try as hard each one to get a 7.1 surround sound coming out to two directional sources but you most likely won’t be able to replicate it. The Arctic 7 does not fully replicate 7.1 surround sound, it’s almost impossible. They are completely wireless, so replicating 7.1 surround sound it’s going to be difficult to begin with but despite the lack of true 7.1 surround sound the headset still had partially immersed into gaming environment which I enjoyed.

The sound quality on the other hand is relatively flat. It lacks depth bass and rich sound altogether. Even after adjusting the various volumes from both my PC, headset and included software the headset still sound really flat. I was pretty disappointed with this since I have other gaming headsets for one fifth of the price of this headset and still sound better than this headphone.

Sennheiser GSP 370 7

Battery

Sennheiser GSP 370

The good thing is you don’t have to charge the headset frequently. You do get a 100 hours of game time and it’s really good. These things get such good battery life. I would use them for several hours a night for a whole week and not even have to charge it.

Using the Sennheiser software, you can check on the percentage of the battery. So you can check the exact percentage rate. Without worrying about having to plug this thing in every single night or every so hours, it was a pleasure and then at the end of the week you can literally charge them. This also depends on exactly how much you use them. They claimed to get around 100 hours and it’s got to be close to that and it’s really good.

Steelseries Arctis 7

On a full charge the headset will have a battery life up to 24 hours. The Arctis 7 is charged through a micro USB connection from the USB dongle.

steelseries arctis 7

Conclusion

Sennheiser GSP 370

Overall, the sound, the wireless connectivity and the battery life is really good. If you’re used to any of the Sennheiser software, you’re gonna be used to this as well. You can load it up and customize your sound-stage, you can even turn on the surround sound.

Steelseries Arctis 7

My overall thoughts on the Arctis 7, I like the simple, aesthetic and the camo headband. The comfort of these are enjoyable and you could wear them for long periods of time except for the discomfort on the ears. There’s a good amount of volume adjustments and headset controls both directly from the headset and the software and the wireless capability of these are all-around solid. The battery life and build quality is very good. the sound quality subpar and flat and the 7.1 surround sound is good enough to be somewhat immersed at least for me but don’t expect a true 7.1 surround sound experience from this headphone.

I cannot recommend this headset for a hundred and fifty dollars, I think there’s a lot of better options out there. There is also a software that comes with this but that also does not help into justifying one hundred and fifty dollar price tag. I think that software is very useful but for the quality that’s coming out of this headset it does not do much for the headset itself.

Sennheiser GSP 370 Vs Sennheiser GSP 670: Which to Buy? (Comparison and Review)

This is the comparison review of the same brand Sennheiser GSP 370 and Sennheiser GSP 670. Both are luxurious and premium gaming headset and both are much expensive. But, both has the many positive features according for that much price. Check out which will be the good option for your budget.

Introduction

Sennheiser GSP 370

This headset meets little bit expensive in other words it’s a premium product. But, for this price-point the Sennheiser claims that it has 100 hours battery life, noise cancelling microphone, and award winning audio.

Sennheiser GSP 670

This headset has almost all the qualities of the luxurious headset. This headphone has Bluetooth and dongle connectivity, great 7.1 surround sound, good microphone, very comfort and the build quality is also good.

sennheiser GPS 370 4

Design & Features

Sennheiser GSP 370

The material of the headset is made of very durable plastic material that does not feel cheap, it feels really high-quality and it doesn’t feel like thin plastic. It feels like thicker, you can’t really bend it and nice quality level plastic. The headset is flexible and it’s gonna fit most head sizes. So, whether you have a larger head or slimmer head, it’s most likely gonna fit because the plastic is quite flexible.

You will get some accessories with the headphone are a USB dongle connector that allows you to connect this headset wirelessly to your computer. There is no Bluetooth options, you can only connect this headset using the USB dongle. So, make sure your device has a USB dongle before you purchase this headset, otherwise, it’s not gonna work. Thrn, a 6 foot cable that was included with the headset and you can charge the headset while using it

Sennheiser GSP 670

Inside the box, you’re just getting the dongle, the micro-USB cable for charging and the headset. It’s really sturdy, everything is very well built and I like the way the ear cups actually adjust, you can slide them up and down but also on top of the headband you have the ability to control the clamping force. Everybody’s head is different, so sometimes it can be a little too tight or can be a little loose and so the fact that they added that control on the top is a nice touch.

As far as on the headset itself you have a volume knob which is really massive and it has a very nice feel to it. This is also what turns it on you can kind of hear a slight little click but if you do not turn these off, there’s no music playing after a little while it will just shut itself off. Also underneath, there’s a programmable button that you actually have to use Sennheiser software, you downloaded on your PC and then you’re able to make it just switch from 7.1 surround sound or just staying in stereo or you can just program some of the EQ settings. You have your mic volume wheel and all of that’s on the right-hand side. On the left hand side, you do have your pairing button and then you have your micro USB input for charging.
As far as Bluetooth controls go you don’t have any other, I think it’s pretty much because they considered Bluetooth secondary or if you’re gaming on your mobile device you’re not gonna have to control skipping tracks or anything, you can control your volume but that’s with the same wheel anyway.

Sennheiser is gaming suite software that you download with your PC or your Mac, you definitely want to do, so that you can EQ these in a way that you want them to sound and they already have some pre-built ones. The software is also giving you controls over the mic as well, so you definitely want to do that but as far as using them like on the PlayStation, it really won’t matter about settings because in that you can only use stereo mode and that’s simply because the PlayStation doesn’t have the drivers to be able to let you customize it.

Sennheiser-GSP-670- 3

Comfort

Sennheiser GSP 370

On top of the headset is made of the fabric memory foam material, so I think that’s pretty nice. It feels nice and plush, so it’s gonna be comfortable on the top of your head. Wearing this headset for eight hours straight also, there will be no issues with the top the head. So, definitely a plus on the comfort with this headset.

The earmuffs is made of the black colored material. It feels like it’s leather / cloth mixed material and on the inside of it, there’s this memory foam that’s also like the top of the headband. It really just sinks into your ears and it’s really comfortable to wear. On the outside of the earmuffs, you have the regular leather material that also feels quite nice. You can wear these things for long periods of time and these things are really not gonna give you any head strain. So, if comfort is important to you then these headphones are definitely a solid option.

The side of the headset that ear buds are adjustable and you can hear that sound, it’s on a clicky system. So, this will definitely fit your head and you can really get the headset in a comfortable position. These things are also like tilt little access system, so it’s really gonna stick on the side of your head at any angle. So that’s obviously gonna add to the comfort levels.

Sennheiser GSP 670

These are very well built but it also comes at the expense of having a little weight on this headphone. So, when you wear them although they’re extremely comfortable, you do seem to feel weight in the center part of your head after a while.

The ear cups have a leather material around the ear cups but it’s actually a suede where it touches your head and that is keeping them from getting hot and it is really comfortable. Now, the ear cups are also extremely deep, so you’re not gonna have any issues with your ears touching inside of the ear cups. They’re really easy to adjust, they have like a two axis system on the side, so they form to your head really easily. If you’re moving around they kind of move with you, it is a very sleek headset.

sennhaiser_gsp370_1

Microphone Performance

Sennheiser GSP 370

The microphone makes this a gaming headset because it’s very important to communicate with your teammates. On the side, it does flex up and down and it also spins around. So, you can really get it as close to your mouth as you can and it’s gonna really bring out the audio and sound good overall. Basically, the closer the microphone is to your mouth the better it’s going to sound because it’s not capturing a lot of that external sound. So, make sure when you are using the headset put the headset as close as you can to your mouth but don’t put it to where you’re breathing.

Since this is a wireless headset, some of the controls are actually built onto the headset. The microphone is mutable by moving the microphone up and down and on the side you have a volume adjuster and this thing is an endless spinner so you can spin it as much times as you want to the left or right and you’re gonna adjust the audio levels in your headphones. So, if you need to crank the volume up you just spin it clockwise and if you need to turn the volume down you just spin a anti-clockwise. One thing I found a little bit uncomfortable with this is the spinner is kind of to the top of the headband and you can’t rotate completely around it because the headband covers the spinner but it’s not really a problem.

The sennheiser claims that it has noise cancelling microphone and it’s definitely do the work in a good way. The microphone sound just isolate the voice in a perfect way. Overall, it’s a good microphone for this price-point.

Sennheiser GSP 670

The microphone is actually close to being a broadcast quality microphone and it is noise canceling. So, it does do a good job of picking up your voice and blocking out a lot of the stuff going on around you. So, if you’re in a noisy environment or anything that’s just going on the people on the other side are just gonna hear your voice. They claim this to be broadcast quality. It is really impressive, really clear, picks up bass tones very well.

Another thing I do want to point out about the microphone. This is one thing that I wish they gave you the option is to remove it because with these having Bluetooth, this would have been very nice to use out and on the go but with this microphone it’s not something most people are gonna want to wear in public. I also think that the headset would need to be a little bit smaller because as it is a very big headset and not very appealing to wear out in public.

Sennheiser-GSP-670- 2

Sound Performance

Sennheiser GSP 370

Sennheiser are known for making a really high quality audio products and this headset is by no means a slacker. The Sennheiser claims that it has a award winner audio performance. The audio performance is just amazing that’s what makes this headset this much price. This has the solid bass performance.

The sound comes in a very clear way from the ear muffs. It’s just sounds amazing. The bass, mids and highs all of the performance were great. Overall, the audio coming through the ear muffs is just excellent.

Sennheiser GSP 670

In my opinion this is the best sounding wireless gaming headset I’ve ever heard. It’s not a huge surprise because it is Sennheiser, they did such an amazing job with this headphone. They’re not bass-heavy, they really do stick to giving you a pretty pure listening experience. So, you really are hearing things the way they’re intended to.

Again, You can bump up different things with the EQ but just leaving them like they are I found to be a really great option. I liked it in music mode, it has some pre-built EQs but the music mode gave it a little bit of a boost in bass and with gaming that just gives you impact on explosions and I don’t like when treble or mids are pushed away because at that time it sounds really tinny.

I prefer stereo use, I feel like 7.1 and pretty much every gaming headset as pretty gimmicky, it’s not doing that accurate job to me compared to just listening to these in stereo mode.

When it comes to the sound, there’s not like one thing I would change at all. Vocals come through extremely clear, the sound and the sound-stage that’s important with gaming. It just does something that a lot of gaming headsets usually fall short. You can really pinpoint where things are coming from like bullets whizzing. It just has the right amount of distance like it feels very natural, it’s not trying to do too much of the audio which sometimes can ruin the whole experience.

sennheiser_gsp370_ 3

Battery

Sennheiser GSP 370

You have an on and off switch and if you switch it on, you will get little LED light that blinks, If it’s blinks in different colors that means it’s looking for something to connect. So, in order to connect it to a device, you’re gonna have to plug in the dongle and then it’s gonna connect to your computer and once it’s connected it’s gonna glow a few different colors or the light is gonna shine a specific color depending on the battery level. I do like Sennheiser’s battery indicator on the headset. So, you’re aware of your battery levels and you’re not going to run out while using them.

To charge this headset all you need to do is plug in the micro USB cable to the side and then you plug it into something with a USB port, so it’s gonna be micro USB to regular USB. Basically, once this thing’s fully charged, it’s gonna last for up to 100 hours. So, definitely a really good amounts of battery life and you don’t have to keep worrying about plugging this thing in every night.

Sennheiser GSP 670

Now the battery life on these is also dependent on which way you’re using them. If you’re using them via Bluetooth you’re gonna get about 20 hours but if you’re using them via the dongle you’re gonna get about 16.

It does have a feature to charge it for seven minutes that’s going to give you two hours of use. So, that’s a lease handy that you can get two hours out of a quick seven minute charge.

sennheiser GPS 670 4

Conclusion

Sennheiser GSP 370

This headset meets pretty much all of the marks someone would expect from buying a premium product. It sounds amazing the build quality is fantastic and it’s really comfortable and with a premium product like this comes a premium price tag. This headset is costs 200 solid dollars, it’s pretty expensive but if you’re looking for the best headset consider this one.

Sennheiser GSP 670

So, overall this price is a lot of money for a gaming headset. I feel like if they would have made it where you can remove the microphone and have the ability to use these more in public, so that you can have a gaming headset at home but also a Bluetooth pair of headphones to use out and about in public, it can kind of be that one pair of headphones to do everything. It’s the best gaming headset, it’s just down to whether you’re willing to pay the price.

Introduction

Steelseries Arctis 1

This Steelseries Arctis 1 has both wired and wireless version which retails $50 and $100 respectively. The wireless version also has the USB C adapter which is a big key feature in this particular model. This can be used all the console gaming devices.

Steelseries Arctis 3

The Arctis 3 which is the wired version but the Arctis 3 also claims to be 7.1 surround sound gaming headsets which is best in gaming surround sound.

steelseries-arctis-1- 5

Design & Features

Steelseries Arctis 1

The Arctis 1 wireless retails for $100, but there’s also a non wireless version of the Acrtis 1 which retails for $50. The Arctis 1 wireless comes included with a 3.5 to 3.5 millimeter audio cable since you still have to use a wired connection. If you’re an Xbox gamer, there’s a long USB A to micro USB cable used for charging since the Arctis 1 still charges via a micro USB port, you get your USB C wireless transmitter which you’ll plug directly into your computer, Nintendo switch or even your phone, and you also get a USB A to USB C adapter. So, you can plug the transmitter into your play-station 4 or into your computer if it doesn’t have a USB C port.

Now, when it comes to wireless connectivity, I’ve had zero issues with this wireless transmitter. From a performance stand point there isn’t any noticeable lag, and I’ve had zero connection drops of this transmitter. But unfortunately, the Arctis 1 can only wirelessly communicate to anything that’s plugged into this transmitter. Since the Arctis 1 doesn’t have Bluetooth 4.1 like the Arctis 3, you can’t just pair to your phone via Bluetooth.

Steelseries Arctis 3

The headset is soft, matte, plastic, all the way around but solid plastic. You’ve got a volume control, mute button, and USB. Also, this set has proprietory plug and then 3.5 millimeter plug. There’s also some accessories comes with the headphone in the box which are another cable, this is for PC with split mic and audio.

These are stylish enough, if you wanted to you could take them out and use them as regular headphones as well.

steelseries arctis 3 2

Comfort

Steelseries Arctis 1

The Arctis 1 are still very light weight like the Arctis 3, they’re still using the same plastic body panels, and they still have the same super breathable fabric ear pads that keep your ears nice and cool even after long gaming sessions. But the Arctis 1 just fit much better than the Arctis 3. They fit much more naturally on your head than the Arctis 3 do. For me, the Arctis 3 apply a little more pressure on the top portion of my ears than they do on the bottom, its not uncomfortable but it is annoying where as the ear cups on the Arctis 1 apply an even amount of pressure around your ears so you forget you have them on after while. The ear cups on the Arctis 1 are also a little more roomier than the ear cups on the Arctis 3. So if you’re someone with large ears then you’ll probably really like the Arctis 1.

Something that I do want to point out is that when I first unboxed the Arctis 1 and put them on I did find them to be a little snug. But after flexing the headband a little bit and gaming with them for a few hours, they broke in and now they fit perfectly fine. So over all the Arctis 1 are more comfortable even without their suspension headband.

Steelseries Arctis 3

There is one fabric cloth on the headband or top which made up of air weave fabric and in other places they call it they call it ski goggle fabric. It is nice and it’s not something that you will be see on other headsets. It is just like an elastic band with a nice design on it. In ear pads, inside there’s just a little bit of a fabric layer that’s covering the driver.

This is a little bit heavy but not too heavy. In this band, you’re never going to have any pain on your head up here if you’re using these headsets. They are comfortable I do find ear sweat a little bit. This is great for sitting on your couch in gaming if you’re plugging into the controller but I don’t think that it will be feel good in out too because this is not very long anyway. The fit and finish is great, it’s durable. It feels like it would stand up to a lot.

steelseries-arctis-1 7

Microphone Performance

Steelseries Arctis 1

Just as you’d expect the microphone on this headset sounds great and it does a good job of just picking up your voice and not everything else around you. It will definitely Isolate your voice with any sound surrounded you. The audio comes from the microphone is clear and not too low. So overall I’m a really big fan of the steel series Arctis 1.

Steelseries Arctis 3

You’ve got a retractable mic. The mic retracts, moves around, bends around. There’s a mute switch, when you press the mute switch in it is unmuted, and when you pull the mute switch out it. Steelseries claims that this is the best mic in gaming. The mic stays where you want it to go, so that’s all good.

The microphone sounds pretty much good. You can use it for multiplayer games but I don’t think this will be fine for professional way.

SteelSeries arctis 3 1

Sound Performance

Steelseries Arctis 1

From a sound quality standpoint I didn’t notice any major audio differences between the Arctis 1 and Arctis 3. They both get more than loud enough and distortion isn’t a problem. But with the Arctis 1 you can go and connect to Steelseries engine 3 on your computer and adjust the headset’s EQ, dynamic range, compression, mic side-tone, and mic volume. These settings are then stored directly on the headset, so if you were to go from gaming on your PC to gaming on your switch or play-station, those settings will still carry over which is good thing.

But unfortunately, since the Arctis 1 can only be used passively when you used with a wired connection, you can’t use your preset configuration for EQ and dynamic range compression. So, basically Xbox gamers are out of luck and are just better off getting the Arctis 1 Wired version instead.

Steelseries Arctis 3

It sounds pretty good. These are warmer sounding headphones. They are detailed in their own way but they are not crisp and clean in the way that you would want. If you are a footstep whore and you play multiplayer online, these are not the headphones for you because they’re not very crisp and they’re not giving you a lot of detail in that higher-end, maybe you could EQ them in some way if you’re using your computer. But, they sound nice and sound full maybe a little bit of a bass bump but not overly bassy.

The one problem that happens with a lot of headphones that need to get powered by the Dual-shock 4. They were loud enough but if you wanted loud then you need to do something else because the Dual-shock 4 was just not making these louder but loud enough like you won’t hurt your ears and you can hear everything in the game but you can’t really push it any further than that. So, that was a little bit of a drag.

steelseries arctis 1 9

Conclusion

Steelseries Arctis 1

Its just fits much better than the Arctis 3, they sound great, and you can game with this headset for hours on end. But, if you’re strictly an Xbox gamer I highly recommend you just go with the $50 non wireless version of the Arctis 1. The Arctis 1 wireless plays nice with PC, Play-station or Switch or even your phone. So, if you have more than one gaming console you can easily switch between them and play wirelessly with the Arctis 1.

Steelseries Arctis 3

These have been one of my most requested headsets. They’re well made, they are stylish and comfortable from a fit and finish standpoint. In gaming, I still think these are just sort of casual gaming headphones. These would be a decent $60 headphone that you could use for multiple uses but from a gaming standpoint, they’re just a casual headset.

Introduction

Steelseries Arctis 1

This is the latest model of the steelseries. The cool and different thing about this particular model is that this Steelseries Arctis 1 comes in both wired and wireless version.

HyperX Cloud Stinger

It works for ps4, Xbox 1, PC, your Mac, your phone, it works for everything. The price of this headphone is very cheap. For this price-point, it has lots of positive features and it’s pretty decent.

Steelseries arctis 1 4

Design & Features

Steelseries Arctis 1

I think they get the lightweight because this entire headset is plastic. Also, you have little adjustable bracket which is metal and you can hear some sound and I had to kind of use a little bit of force which is nice. Whenever you put on your head, it’s not clicking out or just adjusting on your head. They maintain the lightweight because the entire body is plastic. Now, the entire headset is plastic and lightweight does not mean it’s cheap, this feel stinking durable. You can stretch them, twist them, swivel and do a lot of movement in the ear cushion. You can bring them all the way flat, so no matter your head shape or size or anything, this headphone fit you perfectly.

Now one thing I do want to point out that they changed compared to the wired version and this is probably a pretty minor. This particular model headphone also came as wired headphone.

There’s a lot of other accessories which you can get with the headphone. You will get a little adaptor. If your motherboard or phone or Nintendo supports USB c, you can plug it in. If you’re using PlayStation 4 or something and if it doesn’t have USB C, you get a little USB adaptor, you can plug it. So, you can plug it into your console and then you’re gonna have your wireless function. This will make the work very simple and easy. You can pretty much use this on every device with the USB C or the PlayStation 4 with that adapter. You can’t use Wireless on the Xbox one, it’s a real stinker but you can use it with the help of 3.5 mm adapter and it turns into wired version. They do sound good on the Xbox also.

They using 2.4 gigahertz lossless wireless, it’s not using Bluetooth or anything. So, I never noticed any sort of delay or any loss throughout my game. It also has a 30-foot range, I never noticed any loss or any lag or anything. You’re also getting 20 hour battery life with it. You have your mic mute and your mic active and below you have volume wheel then 3.5 which is your gonna plug into your Xbox controller if you using it that way and next to that is your charge port and microphone port. One little thing that I really like is the power button in the down part of the headphone, it will be green and yellow and red as per your headphone’s charge.

HyperX Cloud Stinger

It’s very simple and lightweight overall due to its plastic construction. Actually, the only buttons on this headset are on the bottom of the right ear cup that’s where you’ll find your volume rocker. Overall, the headset is very lightweight, it’s actually only 275 grams but it’s through that plastic construction but it’s enough for this much price.

Comfort

Steelseries Arctis 1

This go right in line with all the other Arctis headset. It’s extremely comfortable. These are using the exact same ear cushions as all the other Arctis used. It’s nice, soft, and breathable and mesh sports material. It’s just so plush and so soft Inside of the ear cup, there’s little pleather lining to trap in some of that sound, so you’re not getting too At the top of the headset, you get a nice amount of padding. It is different compared to the other Arctis where you do not have that little ski bin. It’s kind of like a traditional a headset but it’s very nice and very plush.

The difference I notice about this compared the other line of Arctis, there’s a little bit more clamping force on this headphone. It’s not an unbearable amount or an uncomfortable amount by any means but it is This headphone is extremely lightweight. You will just feel like they’re floating on your head.

HyperX Cloud Stinger

It feels pretty nice for wearing it. There’s ample padding on top of the headset, so it rests nicely on your head. There is a lots of a leeway for adjusting it to make sure that it fits your head.

Also, the ear cushions are very soft on your ears and The ear-cups do rotate 90 degrees. So, if you want you lay down flat on your desk or you can put on your neck in a flat position which will be more comfortable.

steelseries arctis 1 3

Microphone Performance

Steelseries Arctis 1

The mic is detachable. It’s not this massive mic like in front of your face by any means. It doesn’t get right in front of your face, it’s kind of placed on the side but it picks it up fairly decent. I think the wired option sounds a lot better than the wireless option.

You got mic mute button, in that you will hear little beep sound that’s muting it and then making it go into active. This is super cool thing. The cool thing I’m really liking about that whenever you turn the volume down in your headset with your game volume or music, the beep will go down with it. The performance of mic is good enough. It’s pretty much clear and decent.

HyperX Cloud Stinger

The microphone is very flexible, it’s kind of rubber mic where you can adjust it wherever you want which is great. If you want to mute mic, all you have to do is tilt it up fully 90 degrees and the mic will muted and if you put it down, the mic will be unmuted.

It’s kind of what I expected for for this price-point. I think if you’re just playing games, talking your friends online like Steam chat, it’ll be just fine. Maybe, if you’re even like live-streaming it’ll be okay. But, it cant be used for anything professional. For something like casually talking to your friends, it’ll be more than just fine and it’s what I would kind of expect for this price point.

hyperx-cloud-stinger 2

Sound Performance

Steelseries Arctis 1

The sound is good in all the devices from the Xbox, Playstation, the Nintendo switch, mac-book, iMac computer and it’s real cool all the devices. You can just plug the adaptor and into that listen listen to music, play with games, and some movies, videos.

This headset got loud in the wireless mode as far as use them on Xbox, they were very loud and crisp as well. Now, when you plug it 3.5 under controller on the PlayStation, they drop off a little bit. They got pretty stinking loud, If you need you had to adjust that volume down quite a bit in some instances. The cool thing about this headset is you can adjust it in the SteelSeries engine, it’s kind of just like the higher-end Arctis headsets. In the software, you can adjust your own stage. It sounded really good in multiple stages. I noticed some crazy sound effects in between when I used this headphone for listening and play games.

There’s a few things missing from the EQ settings of software on this headphone compared to the Arctis 5. So, maybe those were missing from it to kind of balance it out a little bit better. This headset use the exact same drivers as the Arctis 7 used. So, you’re gonna get that fantastic Steelseries sound with this headphone. For the sound, out of the box that were fantastic but you need to dabble with that EQ and you might have to change it around a little bit than what we’re usually used to with the other steel series headsets.

HyperX Cloud Stinger

Now in terms of sound which is obviously the most important thing about a gaming headset, HyperX always comes through. There is a huge difference between the cloud 2 and the cloud stinger. In this, as you plug it in you won’t be met with any software to emulate some certain sounds which is great because that way you won’t have some unused software on your PC.

It’s also doing part that it plugs into your computer’s 3.5 millimeter headphone jack and also if you want to use it with the mic, they give you a very long extension cord which has your stereo and your microphone input. So, this is not a USB headset which is another reason why you can use it with all the devices. There is no crappy software that means you are going to be getting stereo audio which I prefer 10 times out of 10 over a fake emulated 7.1 or even a 5.1. The stereo sound you’re getting is one of the best I have heard for this much price.

The directional audio in this headphone is superb. In gaming, when you’re shooting like you can feel and hear the This sounds a lot more better than the Logitech G 933.

steelseries_arctis1 2

Conclusion

Steelseries Arctis 1

I love the Arctis 1 wired version and I really recommended those because I thought they were a steal. The wired version with that price will be definitely a fantastic deal. But, I don’t think that the wireless version is that much worth for that much price.

HyperX Cloud Stinger

HyperX definitely goes to dealing when it comes to designing and creating a great gaming headset. Also, the mic is more than fine. It is made of plastic, if you’re very rough and not careful with your things it could break or crack over time.

Razer Nari Ultimate Vs Corsair Virtuoso RGB: A Detailed Comparison

This is the comparison review of the Razer Nari Ultimate and Corsair Virtuoso gaming headsets. There are some features which are almost similar in both the headsets. Also, there are some technological features which makes the both headsets something different and better.

Introduction

Razer Nari Ultimate

There’s a lot of reviews floating around of the ultimate edition and that’s the one that has all that vibrating haptic feedback. This is just the standard Wireless Nari.

Corsair Virtuoso RGB

This is about the Corsair Virtuoso RGB wireless gaming headset. This has high resolution audio, premium build quality and low latency wireless transmission.

razer-nari-ultimate- 6

Design

Razer Nari Ultimate

It’s made with an aluminum and feels pretty sturdy and it’s very similar to the Kraken V2. You can you can twist them and kind of contort it and it’ll snap back into place.

This is a wireless headset but they also include a four-foot-long micro USB cable for charging and then they also give you a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, so that you can use it wired and you can also use it with like your phone.

Corsair Virtuoso RGB

There’s no denying these are solid. There’s aluminum everywhere making these feels sturdy in the hands and because of that metal it’s cold to the touch, it feels ultra premium for a headset and it looks really damn good too. The build quality also feels top-notch with metal ratcheting, adjusting arms and even down to the volume adjustment knob right on the back giving you a lot of feedback when you scroll through this thing. They provide the accessories are USB, the wireless adapter, microphone, and three-and-a-half millimeter chord.

If there’s any kind of creaks or cracks indicating or if there’s anything underneath that could be cheap. But, didn’t hear or feel anything that would indicate that these are poorly made. The headband and ear cups do use a synthetic leather up top. It would have paired well with all this aluminum but what is provided is really good for a gaming headset.

corsair virtuoso 1

Comfort

Razer Nari Ultimate

The ear cups are able to be rotated. So, if you’re done with the game and you want to rest them around your neck, they’re not awkward and hitting you in the jaw or anything like that which is always nice. It’s little bit more comfortable. The headband is also adjustable on its own, so when you go to put it on, it will slide as far down as it needs to and then go snugly into place on your head.

One of the things I really like about this headset is that the cushions around the ear cups not only are made of a nice leatherette material that has sort of a soft suede feeling to where it actually contacts your head. But, it uses a cooling gel foam that does help keep your head a little bit cooler and helps kind of dissipate some of that heat off of your head. So combining the feeling of those ear cups with the adjustable headband does make for a pretty comfortable overall experience.

Corsair Virtuoso RGB

These were almost the best of all of the gaming headset. The gaming headsets, not many have been comfortable to be honest. The Corsair isn’t perfect but it is one of the better ones out there but I still feel slight pinching at the crown of the head and a slight neck fatigue here after about an hour and a half to two hours of straight wearing. These do feel better than HyperX and Logitech G933.

The ear cups on these are also on the good to great side as well, they’re very comfortable with the memory foam padding and for the most part your ears are able to breathe preventing any ear sweat.

razer-nari-ultimate 5

Features

Razer Nari Ultimate

This is a wireless headset but it’s not gonna have the inline controls that you normally would for your volume mixing and mute and all that. So, they’ve integrated it into the actual ear cups themselves. It’s included your charging port, your 3.5 millimeter jack, the on button and mute button.

They’ve also added a pretty cool real-time volume mixing feature into this headphone. The way it works is that when you pair this headset into your computer, it essentially recognizes it as two different devices, so you can set the game-sound which is gonna be basically what you would pair as your computer sound and then the chat. You can also pair the chat to Blizzard chat or discord and so when you’re in game what that means is you can turn the mixing knob and balance how loud your group members are with and how loud your game sound is and I found it to be really helpful.

This headset is wireless, the way it connects to the computer is via a 2.4 gigahertz connection and they actually built the dongle right into the right ear cup and it’s spring-loaded, so if you want to take this with you, just pop it in there and it’s ready to go. It’s also a nice small compact one that you can pop in the front of your computer or something and it’s not going to look obnoxious. The overall performance of the wireless is really good, I didn’t get any disconnecting or any Distortion and the sound itself. The wireless works up to 12 meters, so you can take it pretty far as well and not have to worry about losing connection.

The Razer logos on the sides of the ear cups will light up with the chroma lighting not only does the static and color cycling effect but really in my opinion having RGB on a headset is kind of silly because you can’t see it while you’re wearing it.

Corsair Virtuoso RGB

The ear cups do have perforations micro sized holes that let the Corsair logo shine through when the lights are off it looks like a seamless aluminum Corsair logo on the ear cups and it’s pretty cool. The lighting can be controlled through IQ app with different patterns and colors for you to choose.

Corsair-Virtuoso-2

Microphone Performance

Razer Nari Ultimate

The mic sound is pretty good especially considering that it’s a wireless gaming headset. I think the mic does sound pretty good. There is something I really want to point out and that’s in synapse. There’s about three different settings you can change to enhance the way it sounds, isolate your voice from background noise and things like that. I found that if you turn the vocal clarity setting which essentially will isolate your voice from background noise as low as it will go, it’s going to give you a much better overall sound on the microphone at the cost of picking up a lot more background noise.

If you do have a ton of background noise or something and it’s making people on your team upset then you’ll turn that up but it does make the microphone sound a lot more sin and it does make it sound like you’re muffled a little bit. You can also use the volume normalizer which will help eliminate peaking and you can also adjust mic sensitivity as well.

It works very similar with Razer’s other headsets. It’s got the retractable mic that you just pull out and you can slide that back in and it pretty much disappears. It’s got a very nice easy to position mic and it’s very easy to move around.

Corsair Virtuoso RGB

The mute button is located underneath the connection of the microphone which I thought would have been a kind of a ridiculous place to put this but in practice it works perfectly fine. The microphone itself is highly flexible and since someone on the side of your mouth instead of directly in front of it. When it’s indicated as green as being on which is pretty cool and influence, when it’s red it turns off. The microphone sounds really good. The sound coming out of the microphone is clear and it’s neither too loud nor too quiet.

razer_nari_ultimate_1

Sound Performance

Razer Nari Ultimate

Now as we all know with Razer acquiring thx o, it expect to have some pretty good sounding audio out of these and they do sound pretty good. They have 50 millimeter drivers and they do use thx facial audio to give you really good surround sound.

Now, the actual audio mix of this headset is very basic and in synapse, you can change a couple of different EQ presets and the game preset which I found to be very bassy, the movie preset was the best out of the box for just overall audio mix and the music one was also a little bit bass heavy but you can also create custom EQ.

It is a very punchy sound and it does give you that sort of thx movie-theater sound that you would kind of expect and even though these aren’t the haptic version that does give you the vibration feedback. It does give you a good bit of boom that you almost do feel it in your head a little bit.

Corsair Virtuoso RGB

If you use this via USB and hard line this to your computer, you’re getting 24-bit high resolution audio with Wireless you’re getting ultra-low latency and a wireless range of up to 60 feet and the signal stays intact.

The Corsair sounds a lot more balanced and the least artificial. The Corsair has the least artificial surround sound processing in general. The gunfire and explosion sounds much more direct and kind of like that in your face. If you can imagine the audio frequency band, it’s like a V pattern where a bass is strong and the highs as well while the mid-range is a bit more neutral or at least not as pushed forward.

The corsair can get loud and with most games provides very good vocal work with the addition of detail and clarity not to mention a modern about a bass to supplement the experience. Now, the high frequencies are near the upper end but for me, it was still within tolerance for some it might be a little too sharp but keep in mind you have the equalizer on your computer to play around.

corsair_virtuoso 4

Battery

Razer Nari Ultimate

This is a wireless headset so having the lights enabled is gonna drain your battery faster. Now this battery does last 14 hours with chroma enabled and 20 hours with chroma not enabled. So, I would recommend just turning the lights off because I think you’re gonna get a lot more out of the headset if you leave those off.

Corsair Virtuoso RGB

I wish the battery was easily accessible and definitely replaceable. In Corsair, at least on the back of their ear cup it appears to be sealed. The one feature that I particularly like on the Corsair headset is the auto off. When you remove the headset from your head, they will conserve battery and when you move your headset again there’s a accelerometer in there that can tell there’s movement and it will automatically power back on that’s super convenient. Corsair claims up to 20 hours worth of playtime.

razer nari ultimate 7

Conclusion

Razer Nari Ultimate

The overall construction does feel like it’s gonna hold up well and I really appreciated the feel of those cooling gel ear cups. It is a comfortable and lightweight headset and it’s something that I feel like you could forget that you’re wearing with it’s Wireless construction. The audio quality is good but it is a little bit bass heavy and unless you want to spend a lot of time messing with the EQ I would recommend it to those of you that do like a nice boomy bass headset.

It does have a pretty cool experience when you’re in the headset and just playing games are really punchy and so that does give you a pretty good sound but again if you’re gonna be listening to a lot of music or something like that and you really want crystal-clear sounding audio, you may want to mess with your EQ settings just a little bit.

Corsair Virtuoso RGB

The surround sound is pretty much good but in comparison with Steelseries and Logitech, it can’t beat those sound quality. In comfort, it will beat all the headphones. The microphone also works pretty good and the audio of microphone is clear.
