Introduction

Corsair Virtuoso RGB SE

This headset is aimed at the high-end prosumer market and that’s because it is course as flagship gaming headset and this is a pricey headset. They state that this is marketed at people that want a higher level of performance and quality from their peripherals.I think this will be almost the perfect headset for gaming.

Sennheiser GSP 670

This is the premium quality headset for gaming. This has the noise cancelling technology in mic and the premium build quality and many positive features. According to their price range, the headset also giving a lot of positive features.

Design

Corsair Virtuoso RGB SE

In the Box you will get a 3.5 millimeter Jack lead, a USB lead, the slipstream wireless dongle, and also a detachable microphone. The Virtuoso SE is available in three colorways, so you’ve got a white, a carbon which is a black color, and then you’ve also got the really nice-looking gunmetal. You’ve got 7 centimeters by 10 centimeters by 19.5 centimeters with a weight of 360 grams. This is made from machined aluminium from the headband all the way to the ear cups and I find this very understated and it’s got a really nice black synthetic leather headband as well as the cups surrounded by a matte black sort of rubberized finish on the actual cups themselves as well. You’ve got a really nice gunmetal with little chrome accents on the sort of corners there as well.

You can also find subtle edged brandings on the side as well as on the adjustment numbers as you extend the headband itself and this is a truly beautiful piece of craftsmanship. It’s possibly the most premium and stylish headset I’ve ever seen on a gaming headset for the PC or other devices. The attention to detail is just absolutely flawless.

Now with all of these options available, it means you can connect to virtually any device as well which is another really good thing and especially because all of the cables are included. So, controls wise this is super. You’ve got the volume control on the right hand side via a small scroll wheel and I found this to be tactile as well because it’s got that sort of nice pitched design on it and it is an aluminium wheel with really nice resistance as well, it’s not too loose not too tough either. So, the USB and wireless switch is found underneath the volume scroll wheel and on the left hand side you can find all the ports so for your USB the the 3.5 millimeter jack and for your microphone as well.

Sennheiser GSP 670

The design is very similar to the 550 but the ear cups are sealed up. It’s the same militaristic, aesthetic, wonderful action on the joints and hinges. It’s a decently rugged feel and this is still one of the more unique headbands I’ve ever used. This is not just cushioning the weight of the headset, you can also adjust where the contact points on your skull are to reduce pressure. Now, the other omission, there’s no traditional analog cable input. that’s doesn’t mean that you can’t use these cable just you can only plug in over USB but these do have the handy trick of being able to charge and play at the same time.

I really like the smooth action volume knobs to control game and chat audio independently and other headsets have picked up this trick but muting your mic by raising the boom up is super simple.

Comfort

Corsair Virtuoso RGB SE

Comfort wise, on the cups you’ve got that synthetic ear pads and headband which feature premium memory foam and it’s super comfortable, it’s so nice. The clamping force of the actual headband of the headset as a whole was really strong out of the box and I was a little bit concerned but with some light stretching it’s will be perfect. So, if you find it’s a bit tight, just very gently pull them apart and a few times and that should loosen things up and you’ll have no worries about it falling off either.

When I actually look at the ear cups themselves I was a bit worried because they’re circular. I didn’t think they’d be as comfortable as the oval style cups. But, after using this for an extended period of time, I realized I was worrying about nothing because these are very comfortable.

Sennheiser GSP 670

It is big and bulky but the weight of this headset is in normal. It will not put any pressure on your head. The ear muffs are very soft and cushiony. for this price range, they are well made but you can’t use this headset in a casual way like in travelling because it looks big and bulky.

In the headband also the same type of foam were used which is in the ear muffs. It also helps you to protect from the pressure points. It headset looks very wide, so it’s also comfortable for those who have big head and the headband also has the adjustments and you can fit that as per your head size.

Features

Corsair Virtuoso RGB SE

Now, one thing that it also has is an adjustable RGB Corsair logo, it’s actually sort of behind the aluminium itself and it’s the first time that Corsair have ever implemented RGB underneath that aluminium.

Corsair have literally thought of everything, you’ve got the slipstream wireless technology via the included dongle and this can be used on PC and ps4. You also get a wired USB lead which is included and that’s at a length of 1.5 meters and not only that but you’ve got a 3.5 millimeter analog connection jack cable which is included and that’s also a 1.5 meter length. So, the 2.4 gigahertz wireless range is up to 60 feet or 12 meters.

The software, the IQ is really clean easy to navigate, it is a very basic design but it complements the whole experience of the Virtuoso SE because it’s all sort of understated and minimalist I’d find but I really enjoyed this software. You can switch between surround-sound or Virtual 7.1 surround and you can adjust the volume of the microphone and the the headset itself. You’ve got multiple lighting effects to choose from, so you’ve got some preinstalled and you can twiddle with these a little bit for your own personal preference.

Sennheiser GSP 670

There is bluetooth onboard, if you’re plugged into your PC or ps4, you’ll get the game audio from the dongle and you can still take a phone call over Bluetooth it’ll pause your game audio. But, the Bluetooth option here is purely for convenience, there’s no support for advanced audio codecs that I’ve found. It just seems to lean on SBC, the hardware is capable of high quality playback, you just can’t feed it a higher quality Bluetooth signal.

Also, I just feel like there could have been a bit more multimedia control, we’ve got the volume dials and the rocker switch that only seems to be for pairing the headset or triggering a voice to tell you the remaining battery and then there’s a toggle button on the right hand side which can switch a pre-installed profile but after using so many traditional Bluetooth headsets I think the play- pause, skip, track controls that would have been nice too.

I don’t believe Sennheiser is targeting travel or mobility but keeping track of a tiny dongle, the tiny little USB dongles really easy to lose.

Microphone

Corsair Virtuoso RGB SE

The microphone is a detachable, 9.5 millimeter mic. So, this is larger than the non SE version and it also includes an RGB LED ring that indicates whether or not you’re live or muted which is always a nice feature. It is an omnidirectional microphone with an impedance of 2.0 K ohms, a frequency range of a hundred Hertz to ten thousand Hertz with a sensitivity of – 42 decibels to 2 decibels.

I think it’s quite a clean microphone, I actually really enjoy the sound that this microphone is giving. In this, you can hear the loud sound and also the whispering sound. The voice coming out of the mic is very clear and crisp.

Sennheiser GSP 670

This headset’s microphone should deliver a pretty broad crossover solution. It’s a clean straightforward sound maybe pushing and just a touch bright to help your voice cut through game noise but this kit really shines once you drive it from Sennheiser’s control software. There’s simple adjustments to tone, you can lean heavy on the noise reduction and if you’re in a really busy environment you can even fire up a gate to cut your mic feed when you’re not speaking that’s really handy. Surprisingly, it doesn’t seem to wreck the sound of your voice, I think it sounds pretty good.

 Sound Performance

Corsair Virtuoso RGB SE

You’ve got a matching pair of custom 50 millimeter neodymium drivers designed from scratch for the virtuoso headset. Now, these supports 7.1 virtual surround sound with a frequency response of 20 Hertz to 40,000 Hertz with an impedance of 320 ohms at 2.5 kilohertz. Sensitivity range is 109 dispells to 3 decibels what I really liked about this headset but only via the USB connection is it available but it supports high resolution 24-bit or 96 kilohertz audio support. When you look at CDs, they only have 16 bit or 44.1 kilohertz so that is quite a bit of a difference there now.

I’d never use gaming headsets to listen to music with I just use them for gaming maybe using on discord or something. I never normally do that but this was actually an exception with that wired audio quality boost, it was just incredible. The sounds were just so crisp and clear and that was just straight in with no fiddling on the EQ settings by the software or anything like that. It’s slightly flat profile but that was good because you get a really good sense of everything in the mix. So, for me it was fine but others may find the bass to be on the low side once you plug it straight in with no settings change but this isn’t a negative because all of these settings can be changed by EQ profiles within IQ software.

Gaming is also really good with the virtual 7.1 surround sound, FPS games and things like that you really got a sense of where you were and where those sort of gunshots were around you and it always helps. Even when 7.1 is not that great, it’s still worth.Gaming is also really good with the virtual 7.1 surround sound, FPS games and things like that you really got a sense of where you were and where those sort of gunshots were around you and it always helps. Even when 7.1 is not that great, it’s still worth.

You’ve got EQ preset options which can be adjusted as well, so you can really spend some time getting these right for whatever you’re using the headset. I really like about this software is the fact that it has profile creation, you can set up one profile for bass heavy music, classical, or anything like that and then keep another separate profile for something else or even gaming or movies or anything like that. So, you can switch between your desired profiles rather than having to go in and change your mix every time which is frustrating with other headsets. So, you’ve got very good options in general.

Sennheiser GSP 670

This is a premium audio option for gaming and going wireless means finding ways to reduce latency. A tiny USB dongle broadcasts and it’s quick enough. There’s also Bluetooth lag on our phones for streaming movies and watching videos but it’s still the critical fault for gaming, that brief audio offset is disastrous. The audio dongle is compatible with PC and ps4 and also Xbox. It sounds really smooth and very mellow for a gaming headset. It’s a really mellow tone, the closed back GSP670 give a bit muddy or bass responser, heavier for low-frequency. The GSP670 are not skull Rumblers and like the GSP550 very well balanced for crossover like film and music streaming. I thought they were just a touch bright while I was listening to some classic rock.

If you paired with the PC, you can then tune the EQ excellent tight bass response, they won’t ever rattle the fillings in your teeth but increasingly getting away from that mega bass thumping trend. The gaming profile, for example, specifically mentions boosting treble response and switches you over to 7.1 surround and adds just a touch more reverb. It’s not as hyper location adjusted for panning like the Scout mode on creative sound-blaster but it fills in location and environment sounds nicely and I like that the surround sound effect is mellow. It’s calmer than some of the other headsets and it’s less gimmicky or reverb.

I wish we could push the stereo widening just a little bit farther on the GSP670 but there’s a lot of flexibility here to tune the sound that you want to hear movies, music, and gaming. Sennheiser as a premium audio manufacturer their reputation for microphones is second to none.

Battery

Corsair Virtuoso RGB SE

It boasts a massive 20 hour battery life on wireless as well and I think this is pretty good considering Bluetooth generally gets more battery life. You’ve got an auto power off feature so after 10 minutes it’s all powers down whereas other headsets I’ve found there’s only a few minutes, it was really annoying. So, I really like this and not only that but with the Auto power-down it’s got an auto power on as well. So, once you pick the headset up it’s turned on and I’ve really found this to be just the quality of life whilst using it was just so much easier than other headsets.

Sennheiser GSP 670

Battery life is fantastic, Sennheiser estimates 16 hours running at the lowest latency paired with the dongle.

Conclusion

Corsair Virtuoso RGB SE

I’m just shocked at the quality. It’s just amazing. This has exceptional build quality and attention to detail. This is the best headset I ever had seen Aesthetically as well as sound wise. The detachable microphone is also a plus, so you’re not worried about that hanging around all the time. The fact that it’s got multiple use system, so USB wireless 3.5 millimeter jack. It’s got superb audio quality in music and games and the IQ software is easy to use with many options. The only thing I could be seen as a negative point is that is expensive, however, you do get what you pay for and this is Corsair’s flagship headset.

Sennheiser GSP 670

This headset aren’t cheap even for Wireless is a premium purchase and Sennheiser is targeting the same as SteelSeries with the Arctis. Now, each headset scores individual victories. Sennheiser mute your game audio while taking a call, I like the microphone a little bit better on the 670. The battery life also pretty much good in this headset.
