Expert Reviews For Gigabyte Aero 15 X9:

By TechSpot
Overall, the Gigabyte Aero 15 X9 isn’t a huge improvement over last year’s model, but it does pack some nice upgrades. While Nvidia’s RTX features don’t provide much in this GPU design, the RTX 2070 Max-Q is ~10% faster for gaming at 1080p, which you’d take every time considering there’s no change to the form factor. The improved trackpad is a long overdue addition. And some of the new software tools aren’t game changers, but could be promising if more work is put into them.

DESIGN

Gigabyte Aero 15 X9:

The design is reminiscent of the gaming laptops of several years ago which I guess, makes sense since it hasn’t gotten a chassis update for about two years. With that said, I can’t really complain about the ID from an objective standpoint the screen bezels are super narrow the chassis is nice and rigid and the design is reasonably understated. So it won’t give away how much raw gaming performance is inside if you’re worried about that sort of thing, in your board meetings sticking with a more traditional design.

Lenovo Yoga C940 2-in-1:

Two models of it the 14-inch version and the 15-inch model, that I have here there are some differences which, I’ll talk about in a second but the big deal about this laptop is it’s two-in-one configuration like you have the ability to open up. The display and kind of rotate it in any position you want and the cool thing is while you do that this rotating speaker follows it so you always have sound directly hitting. While you’re watching content on your laptop the other thing is the fact that Lenovo includes a built-in pen on the side of it like this is just a very convenient and handy feature to have now the difference this here, is it’s not spring-loaded which was on the previous version so you kind of have to use your fingers to pry it out. But it’s really not hard to do edges of the laptop are very sharp, though like this is not a polished laptop especially when you’re typing for long periods of time some may find the deck of the keyboard to get a little bit uncomfortable because of these edges ports.

WEIGHT & DIMENSIONS

Gigabyte Aero 15 X9:

The weight of Gigabyte Aero is 4.7 pounds (2.1 kg) and15 X9 356 x 250 x 18 mm / 14 x 9.8 x 0.7 inches as dimensions.

Lenovo Yoga C940 2-in-1:

The 14-inch Yoga C940 is also slightly more compact than its predecessor, at 12.6 x 8.5 x 0.6 inches and 3 pounds. Even the 15.6-inch model is relatively portable, measuring 13.1 x 9.4 x 0.7 inches and weighing in at 4.2 pounds. Both models have two different display options: a 1080p or 4K HDR panel.

KEYBOARD AND TOUCHPAD

Gigabyte Aero 15 X9:

Keyboard it’s only fine the force required, to press the keys is a little high despite the switches, having no real tactile bump the key stabilization could be better and the smaller right. The shift key is a little bit awkward to hit honestly though it was probably a – material a couple of years ago but nowadays it’s just a B+ since this is another area where the competition has really stepped up, their game another area the competition has caught.

Lenovo Yoga C940 2-in-1:

The keyboard is okay like there’s enough spacing they were able to cram in a Numpad, which the key placement is good even the arrow keys are nice and thick for the left and right. You basically have everything you need the travel distance, is not the greatest like it’s noticeable but the Kiehl’s keys just feel mushy it’s not like the tactile feel you get with the x1 extreme or a ThinkPad.The touch you can use your fingers and there’s a pen, the pen experience is good it’s not great but it’s good enough for someone who’s like getting into drawing. Someone who’s starting off as an artist it’s also fantastic if you’re a real estate agent like the latency is good enough.

PORT SELECTION

Gigabyte Aero 15 X9:

We find loads of USB Taipei’s and HDMI port and even a full-sized SD card reader so you can go dongle free, if you want then they also threw in Thunderbolt 3. If you’re more of a dongle embrace er so that’s all pretty normal so far but where the arrow 15 is exceptional is under the hood ours comes equipped with an Intel Core I 989 50 HK. Yes, that’s the overclockable one and an NVIDIA r-tx 2070 max-q meaning that it packs considerably more punch than I would expect and even in most cases recommend in a chassis this slim, like we have seen much thicker laptops than this fail to cool this CPU, adequately and as for how gigabyte fares.

Lenovo Yoga C940 2-in-1:

USB a port you have your Thunderbolt 3 then, of course, your audio jack and then on the right-hand side you have another USB port now this is not a superlight laptop the 14-inch model is lighter it’s like under 3 pounds but this is over 4 pounds, in fact, it’s actually heavier than a MacBook pro and heavier than a Lenovo’s x1 extreme now.

DISPLAY

Gigabyte Aero 15 X9:

The traditional i/o quite literally more of it along the sides although the Aero does have a better showing than the MacBook Pro it only narrowly edges out, the core i7s in its competition in most tasks and occasionally even gets straight-up beaten all while hitting the thermal limits of the chip so what this basically means is you should buy the i7 model to get similar performance for fewer monies, it might not sound as good and exciting but it will still be incredibly competent at video editing gaming. And really whatever you want to throw at it as for the RT X 2070 max Q well since this is our first laptop with one of these we can’t say exactly how it’ll compare to other RT X 2070 max Q’s. But what we can say is that it performs pretty darn well expect to be getting lots of frames in your games with anything but the heaviest triple, a titles with r-tx enabled being capable of hitting the 144 Hertz refresh rate of the built-in display many of them even on Ultra settings perhaps more impressively is the fact that our Aero 15 X 9 managed to do this.

Lenovo Yoga C940 2-in-1:

The display is full HD but there’s also a 4k version available, color accuracy is a really good gamut is a little bit on the lower side but good enough brightness is exceptional. Like over 500 nits this is beating out the MacBook Pro and the Olin version of the x1 extreme.

BATTERY

Gigabyte Aero 15 X9:

Battery life Department with alien wear and razor now boasting large capacity batteries the 94-watt hour unit in the Aero 15 x9 isn’t quite, as impressive anymore but given that 94-watt hours is getting very close to the limit to what you can carry on to a plane there really wasn’t a ton of room for upward mobility for gigabyte here and be around six hours that you get is still darn impressive.

Lenovo Yoga C940 2-in-1:

For the battery size 67 watt-hours and surprisingly, I’m getting really good battery life like 9 hours and 15 minutes doing productivity which is impressive for a laptop that has an H series processor.

PERFORMANCE

Gigabyte Aero 15 X9:

20 percent performance, it just also means that you’ll be getting your 100% ish performance at a lower power level. For noise envelope without ever having to think about optimizing any settings so then now that our expectations have been adjusted those really were some outlandish claims, they were making at the show it is much more clear to me. How this technology can deliver a very real benefit to the average user and the good news kind of keeps rolling here gigabyte really hit nail on the head with the display it’s 144 Hertz refresh rate makes it excellent for gaming, and it’s Pantone color calibration makes it even suitable for prosumer level photo or video. Work the only other thing that I might want I guess is G sync for the hardcore gamers but for the eagle-eyed among you who are bothered by the pedestrian 1080p resolution you can simply go for the 4k 60 Hertz panel.

Lenovo Yoga C940 2-in-1:

Performance is pretty good like this is a 9750 age and when you pair that with a Gtx 1650 max-q, you have a laptop that’s capable to do most things like your content creator, editing video this is going to be able to do it you’re a developer and you’re compiling big sources of code. This is going to be able to handle it even if you’re in doing AutoCAD this has the horsepower to handle it.

CONCLUSION

Gigabyte Aero 15 X9:

If money was no object honestly, I would take either the razor blade 15 or Alienware M 15 over this but unfortunately for all of our money. It is a thing and this is where the arrow 15 X 9 really flexes, with our recommended coming in at a hundred and fifty dollars less than the alien?

Lenovo Yoga C940 2-in-1:

Port selection is pretty good the only complaints, I have is that this could be a bit more refined like smoother edges slightly better touchpad and I would have loved a ram that. I could swap out down the road now if you absolutely don’t need a two-in-one and you can spend $50 more take a look at the x1 extreme this is $50 more and offers you a better keyboard better cooling better performance better touchpad and a lighter laptop.

If you are gamer then I would suggest you to assemble a gaming PC. Here are few Motherboard CPU Combos For Gaming. PC’s are more powerful than laptops. But if you need a portable thing for productivity then laptops are best and Lenovo Yoga C940 2-in-1 is good to buy.
