Logitech’s G533 doesn’t have quite the same breadth of options as the G933, but a more restrained design and a bargain price make this a strong contender for best wireless headset.

There’s not much to complain about with the G533, as they are exceptional by practically every measure. They are comfy, offer superb audio for games and music, and the retractable microphone is simply brilliant. I just wish I could use them with my phone and my console like the Arctis 7 or Revolver S, then they’d be perfect.

The Logitech G533 wireless is a decent headset, but doesn’t stand out in a competitive market.

Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G Pro

This headset retails for under $100 and overall this is worth for it. This headset will be compatible with PC and all the gaming consoles like Xbox one, PS4 etc,.

Logitech G533

This wireless headset can be used on your PC and PS4. The sound of the mic is good but the overall sound of the headset is just great. This headset also has DTS 7.1 surround sound and it works in great way.

DESIGN:

Logitech G Pro

The Logitech G pro gaming headset looks amazing. I love the stitch leather and headband covered the matte black ear cup mounts and the metal logo plates on the sides of the ear cups that have sort of a radial brushed metal finish with a polished logo in the center. It definitely reminds me of the HyperX cloud alpha or the cloud 2 and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was made in the same factory as some of the HyperX models because it features a lot of the same styling.

The ear cups themselves are larger than most competitors which is great for accommodating large ears without being unusable by people with smaller ears. The ear pillows are made of foam and a leatherette material with nylon driver covers and a soft touch matte black plastic housing.

The wires to the ear cups are coiled which I think looks really cool compared to just being loose or straight like some of the other headsets on the market. It might seem like that’s just for looks but the coil wires actually have some function to it, depending on the angle of each player’s head the wire will have a different amount of slack in it with a self coiling wire the slack is immediately taken up so you don’t have a hanging wire that could irritate you or possibly get snagged on something. It’s a subtle touch that makes you think about the attention to detail Logitech has put into this headset and both of the mic and audio cables are detachable for easy storage and safe travel.

Logitech G533

It is very similar to the G933 which have a lot of built-in controls and features that they kind of scaled back on this model. The reason they did that is they toned it back, so that it saved $50. You still get the Wireless function and you get a lot of the same controls.

As far as build quality goes it is plastic all around which is not a big deal because it keeps the weight off of these. The one thing I really want to point out in these is the glossy material on the ear cup is a fingerprint magnet like it’s picking up absolutely every time I touch it. It is easy to see that there are fingerprints all over but as far as branding goes that is where G is located. So, it is very stealthy looking and as far as for a gaming headset, it’s not flashy, bright colors.

COMFORT:

Logitech G Pro

The ear cups of the Logitech G Pro are very large which is great because it puts most of the clamping force on your head and not on the soft tissue around your ears. There is plenty of room no matter what size your ears are. I found it to be very comfortable but not quite as comfortable as some of the HyperX models I’ve tested. I think the main difference is the amount of clamping force the G Pro puts on your head. It’s a bit stronger than a cloud alpha or a cloud X.

It’s definitely not an uncomfortable headset as I was able to wear it for up to four hours without taking it off that’s honestly a long time. But, to compare it once again to cloud alpha, I can wear them for nearly six hours without giving my head a break. Most normal people don’t game for four to six hours straight anyways, so this headset is more than sufficient in the comfort department.

This headset feels very robust. It has a metal frame that flexes where it needs to but is firm in all the right places. The leatherette material around the headband seems sturdy but feels soft to the touch. I’m not afraid to flatten, bend and twist this headset, it can definitely take some serious abuse. I’m fairly rough with my gear but this headset held up really great.

Logitech G533

You’re able to wear these for long periods of times and as you can tell they do stick out quite a bit but they’re extremely comfortable. The material that they use on the headband is a fabric material kind of a spongy type material. Underneath it, it’s the same thing on the ear cups themselves. It does have the holes to be able to have air kind of channel in and out while you’re using these which keep your ears from getting hot and sweaty and allows you to gain for a longer session.

Your left and right or marked on the inside part of the headband, the other way of knowing where that is is on the left hand side is where your microphone is built-in.

FEATURES:

Logitech G Pro

You will get a USB external sound card, a detachable mic, a two meter cable with inline volume and mute controls, and a Y splitter for PC players. This headset features an inline mute button and volume control nothing tricky just a simple slider button and a volume knob.

One thing I didn’t like and maybe I’m nitpicking but I hated how long the audio cable was, the excess cable would get caught under the wheels and legs of my chair because he was literally dragging on the floor if it is used for Xbox one. Other than that it was very easy to use.

Logitech G533

You have an extremely long charging cable, the micro-USB cable. It does not come with a headphone cable because it is only wireless. This allows you to charge it and the headset has a 15 hour battery life which is very impressive and you can have them on for long gaming sessions. Do note that you cannot use these in a wired mode. It comes with the wireless dongle because this is what I use is to transmit the wireless signal. This is able to use on the PC and the ps4.

On your left side on the bottom, you have the micro USB port for charging. This is where your on and off switch is located and really that’s your only lighting. It lights up whenever you’re turned on and right next to it you see a simple little button and it shows the mic mute underneath it. Now it does give you the ability to do that as a default but within Logitech software, you’re able to program this button to do basically anything you want it to do. I’ve got my program to where it’ll switch on and off the surround sound feature because these do have DTS 7.1 surround sound built into and underneath that button is where you have your volume rocker. Now this does work for the ps4 and PC.

If I could change anything I would like to have the ability to use these in Wired mode that way if I wanted to use these as an all-around headset and use them on my phone or tablet or anything like that that I would be able to do so. But, they’re not made for that and Logitech has other options specifically for that.

MICROPHONE:

Logitech G Pro

The mic on this Logitech G Pro is a boom style mic with a small poufy ball pop filter on the end of it. Its ability to record my voice while not picking up much of the sound in the room was quite good and my voice came through clear on the other end. The sound of the mic is good enough, you can clearly the sound and there’s no pop sound.

There are much better options in the hundred dollar price range specifically for recording but if you want to have a gaming headset that can also do decent voice-overs for your game-play then this headset would work out really well for both.

Logitech G533

The mic mutes when you push it up and it unmutes when you pull it out. You can also extend it out even further and have a little more bin to it.

The sound of the mic is extremely and with the built-in pop filter, you’re not hearing a lot of breathing or anything similar to that.

SOUND:

Logitech G Pro

The sound quality is above average. Everything sounds great at low and medium volumes but everything sounds super cluttered and muddy at higher volumes. The bass is the clearest at a medium volume but there is sort of a sweet spot where you can increase it to about 70 to 75% volume where you can get a really nice punchy and boomy bass that doesn’t muddy the highs and the mids. For Xbox players, I recommend turning the volume setting on your Xbox all the way up and then adjusting the volume with your headset volume knob to get the perfect balance.

The sound stage is definitely not up to par with other headsets in its price range. You need to crank the volume up really high to hear the footsteps from far away. So, it’s not the best choice for battle Royales and shooters although grenade explosions and gunfire sounds amazing. So, it’s a bit of a give-and-take.

Party chat comes through super clear at all volumes but you will need to adjust the chat mixer in the Xbox settings to get it just right. I did have an echo problem in party chat but it went away after resetting my Xbox.

Overall, the sound quality is good but not great. It gets the job done but I’d like to be able to hear footsteps a bit easier and be able to turn up the volume higher and higher without its sounding cluttered, that might be possible with Logitech G hub software because that offers audio EQ profiles that have been tuned specifically by pro gamers. Unfortunately, this is not a feature that Xbox players can take advantage of because it requires using the external USB sound card which does not work with Xbox, it will only work with PC.

Logitech G533

These sound terrific. They really do sound almost identical to the G933. Maybe, if anything they have the treble tone down just a little bit but as far as bass I have mono bass boost mode and I absolutely love it.

Again within the software you can go in and change to all kind of presets and even tweak the EQ to get the sound that you like. Because of sound, the way that these ear cups are made whatever size of the ear are going to sit inside of this ear-cup. So, when doing that I think everybody is going to get the exact same sound experience. You can EQ it, get a bass boost or you can even have it specifically tweaked for certain games, they have even certain presets already built in for games, these can do anything you want them to.

So, as far as gaming on the PC that is where you get your 7.1 surround sound. You don’t get the 7.1 on the ps4, you just get stereo but it sounds incredible. The volume is not really high on the ps4 but on the PC, these things can get really loud and you are easily able to pinpoint sounds all around you because of the 7.1 that’s built in on first-person shooters, you can hear where somebody’s coming from even behind you.

I was really really impressed with the DTS 7.1 in this headset. Now as far as overall sound, it’s incredible for music as well, same thing but movies because clarity is so good that spoken parts and vocals sounded absolutely amazing but with that extra little thump, it was just fun to listen to music.

CONCLUSION:

Logitech G Pro

The G Pro headset has a very robust and attractive design with about 4 hours of continuous comfort. While, I wouldn’t call the audio professional while using it on Xbox, I definitely think it’s good enough to warrant the price tag especially with the other features in mind and it did work very well with Xbox and was extremely easy to use. This price is definitely worth it but if you can find it on sale just pick it up quickly.

Logitech G533

It is very competitive, these headphones are very comfortable. They sound amazing and if it’s just kind of the overall package. I highly recommend them especially if you are a PC gamer and someone that really is looking for an incredible PC headset to use for music and games.
