Detail Review
INTRODUCTION:
Logitech G403 Wireless
This G403 Prodigy Wireless mouse also comes in a wired-only version and this one also can be used wired. There are no crazy designs or numbers of buttons but in this mouse, you will get a decent design with a good grip on both the side.
Logitech G603 Lightspeed
This is a wireless mouse with some basic features of gaming and customizations. It looks so simple, also it even doesn’t have RGB lighting. If you want a simple wireless mouse, this will be good without any lag.
DESIGN & COMFORT:
Logitech G403 Wireless
It’s obviously a wireless mouse but you can plug it in as wired. There is the Logitech Gaming logo on to where your palm rests which is obviously an RGB light. You have two rubber pads on either side of the mouse for a better grip. You have six programmable buttons that you can configure through the Logitech Gaming software. As far as the mouse, it’s a nice kind of high looking Mouse and suitable for people with kind of medium hands. It definitely feels comfortable to me.
It’s got a micro USB port on it and it’s got two kinds of brackets on either side to make it fit. On the actual mouse you have the micro USB port, you just push it in connecting to the micro USB and it’s nice and secure and this won’t come out without really kind of aggressive pull. So, the braided cable after the charging cable is very high quality. It’s around one and a half meters long, so you can plug it into like a USB extension or depending on where your PC is directly into the USB port.
Logitech G603 Lightspeed
This mouse weighs 4.78 ounces or 135 grams with the batteries inside and I think that’s why this mouse is so heavy, it takes two AA batteries to power that’s adding a lot of weight. As far as the size goes, it’s pretty average compared to the other Logitech mice. For larger hands, it’s a little bit small.
The aesthetic is a little bit lacking in this mouse. It still has clean lines, nice solid design from Logitech but there’s nothing fancy going on. There are no textures, there’s no glossy runways running through it as a lot of other Logitech mouses have. Also, there’s no RGB as well. If the aesthetic isn’t very important to you then this will be good to buy.
FEATURES & PERFORMANCE:
Logitech G403 Wireless
In the box, a charging cable comes with it and it operates on a 2.4 gigahertz wireless frequency. The resolution comes around 200 to 12000 dpi, a 1 millisecond response time. You’ve actually got a 10-gram weight and you can add to the original 107 grams. There are 16.8 million RGB colors and 6 programmable buttons. The G403 mouse also comes with this block and also the wireless receiver, so the wireless receiver is actually at just a small USB dongle. If you plug it into this extension block and if your PC is far away from where you’re playing your game then, you can actually plug in the charging cable and then what you can do is you can plug the USB into your PC which allows you extra room on the extension for the wireless receiver.
On the bottom, you have your sensor and then you have your on and off switch because it is obviously a wireless mouse, so it has the control and the power. There are gliding feet on top and bottom for good movement around the mouse mat. Then, you have your actual encasement of the ten-gram weight that you can put inside to add up a little more weight. So, to take off the actual cover you push down hard to release a magnet and then you can lift it out, and then all we got to do is install the magnet inside.
This mouse also features the advanced tensioning system that you may have found in previous Logitech gaming mouses. Basically, what it does is there are metal springs in the left and right-clicking buttons, I think it might also be in this side and the feature buttons too but what it basically allows was a really kind of immediate press, no real kind of forcing to press which basically means you have a faster response time and can compete faster in games.
For using the customizations and many more settings, you have to install and log in to Logitech gaming software. This is the same software that’s used for all Logitech gaming products. So, on the first screen, you can change between onboard memory and if you’re someone that takes your mouse move a lot of time, you’re going to want to use onboard memory because the settings within come with you. There you have some basic kind of settings of the mouse but just going back to the home page, if you also click the buttons, this will allow you to reprogram the button. Here, you can actually change your DPI sensitivity levels between all the four portions but you can actually move up to five then down to one but that’s up to you. Profiles at the top right for different games and you can change your report rate. You can use your different profiles here too, lighting selection will be in the logo and the scroll wheel, so you can turn these on and off as you wish. This mouse has three options for lighting turned, all off, you can use the color cycle which will go through the 16.8 million RGB colors, or you can change it to breathing effect. The lighting effect will be a color cycle, breathing effect, and then brightness and rate too. You can also sync your items down there if you’ve got a Logitech headset and a keyboard or any other product. You can select the same lighting setting for those products too.
There is also surface tuning, so this way you can adapt the corner Mouse’s performance depending on what surface you’re using. There are Logitech surfaces and factory defaults or you can add a new surface. There is also the setting of the heat map. This is basically where you can see which buttons to use most commonly on your mouse, so this could be good for like feedback for us and games. Overall, Logitech gaming software is generally very good responsive.
Logitech G603 Lightspeed
You get six customizable buttons, you get five different presets for the DPI settings, you get a quick switch DPI button on the mouse, so if you just click that button and it’s going to cycle through your presets for your DPI settings. If you’re going to take advantage of all of these features, be sure to download the Logitech G-hub software. All the different programmable buttons and other special features like RGB settings, you’re not going to be able to mess with at all if you don’t download this software.
The sensor is a 12000 DPI Hero sensor from Logitech. So, the 12000 DPI is a little bit lower than some of their other Logitech mice that go up to 16000. Going above 12000 DPI, that’s a super high sensitivity for the mouse. Those two are a little bit different than DPI and sensitivity but if you have that high DPI, your mouse is moving pretty fast. Along with the 12000 DPI sensor, you get a one millisecond response time with the lightspeed wireless technology Logitech has built into the USB receiver. So, that means essentially no lag. While using and testing these mice, I experienced no issues at all.
It also has dual connectivity options with the lightspeed wireless which is through the USB receiver, or you can do Bluetooth. So, if your PC or laptop has Bluetooth options that are great for you if you have a dual PC setup and you’re switching between the two, you could actually just use one mouse which could come in handy for sure. It’s got a nice little compartment at the top of the mouse. You pop this entire front plate off, you got the battery storage right there which is powering the mouse. At the bottom there, you get the USB dongle or receiver storage slot. If you ever have to move with this mouse and travel with it then the USB will stay nicely tucked inside and you won’t have to worry about losing it.
BATTERY:
Logitech G403 Wireless
In the software, there is battery lighting presets and power consumption because it gives you some kind of system information. Here, you can obviously change your lighting preset to save some battery. You have to charge the mouse like the normal mouses nowadays, with a charging cable as there are no AA batteries. So, you don’t have to worry about the charge that how come suddenly it complete the charge.
Logitech G603 Lightspeed
On the battery life, we’re getting 500 hours out of these two AA batteries in high mode. There is a high mode and a low mode. So, the low mode is like an endurance mode, it lengthens the battery life of the mouse, so you’re actually gonna get 18 months on low mode. This looks great battery life but it’s not rechargeable and a lot of other Logitech mice have that feature and that’s a really nice feature to have when you don’t have to worry ever about replacing batteries.
WHICH TO BUY?
Both the mouse is wireless and works well with no latency but here, you can decide which one you have to buy by considering the price. The Logitech G603 is a budget option in the wireless mouse and like that way, it also has some outdated features. If you have some more money to spend on a wireless mouse of about $130, then the G403 mouse will be a good buy as it has some extra and convenient features.
