INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G430

The design is something same like the older models of Logitech. The design looks simple and the build quality is also good, not that much bad. The sound is also good but the surround sound is not that much good in this headset. The mic does the job well for gaming and anything like that.

Logitech G230

The headset design and comfort is pretty good and the design of the headset is nothing new. The sound of the headset is also good and also enough for this price range but the sound is just stereo. The mic also sounds good for gaming and web-chat and for any casual use.  

DESIGN:

Logitech G430

The headset looks absolutely fantastic. I definitely think this is one of the best-looking gaming headsets on the market. The fact is got this really cool medium blue accents on the actual on the headset, it’s just fantastic. There’s a Logitech gaming logo on both of the ear cups.

As far as the actual headset looks, I’ve got no complaints. As far as build quality the headset is plastic and it is very very light which makes obviously a lot more comfortable when you’re actually wearing it as well. It’s not the most fantastic build as far as durability but if you take good care of it, you should have no issues.

Logitech G230

The design of the headset is almost similar like the Logitech G230 headset. This headset designed with a simple look most of the Logitech headsets and with the black  matte finish. The headband padding and the ear muffs are red colored. There’s no other color options available in this headset model. Also, on the left ear cup the boom mic is placed. 

COMFORT:

Logitech G430

The actual padding on the ear cups is very nice. Actually, it’s a little bit thicker than the actual headband but the actual material used in the headband is a lot more squishy. I mean, if you were to hold this in for a while you’ll actually find that it kind of molds into shape. This will really kind of styled your head and it will just make the actual headset feel a lot more comfortable. You’ve got some swivel on ear cups as well, so they do make it look fantastic also when they actually laying down.

The ear cups that rotate which is much more comfortable. They actually will lay flat, you can rotate them a full 90 degrees and then lay the unit flat. The band is also adjustable on each side and we have a padded headband as well. So, it sits on top of your head. Now, the padding can be removed for cleaning or if in case you want to replace it with something else, you can do that.

Compared to a lot of the headsets, they’re not that heavy. So, a lot of the headsets that I’ve used are much heavier than this and they do stay on your head but they don’t squeeze your head, it’s kind of a strange sensation that ear cups are nice.

FEATURES:

It does have an inline control as well with the Logitech Gaming logo on it, it’s very simplistic and have the volume rocker on it and a mute switch. You also have the really long braided cable.

This headset has Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound, so by using the jacks you can plug them into this USB sound cards and actually use this to obviously achieve the 7.1 audio. The good thing as well a Logitech actually supplied this as a separate entity, so essentially what you can do if you do have a different audio solution, you can just unplug the jacks and go and plug the jack straight into the PC or a different audio solution that’s totally up to you. So, Logitech have definitely gone the right way about including the USB sound card but not actually attaching it to the full cable.

The frequency range on the microphone is a 100 Hertz to 20 kilohertz. The dimensions of the headset are the width is 184 millimeters, the depth of the length is 89 point two millimeters, the height is 189 millimeters, the weight is 255 grams.

We have a braided cable here out of this cable of 7.65 feet long that’s extremely long 2.33 meters and it does come with a proprietary that you can wrap around bunch up some of this cable and in the center of that we do have a volume regulator with a mute button and there’s an LED indicating that it is muted and on the back of that we have a clip, so you can clip it on.

MICROPHONE:

You do have a boom microphone. The actual microphone does bend a little bit and does seem to like to go back to its original position but nothing major there. It does have a bit of a curve on it, so no problems there.

It sounds actually really good, I’m very impressed. It’s a lot better than a lot of other PC gaming headset microphones as well. I think they’ve done a fantastic job on the microphone.

The mic just simply flips down and then after you flip it down, you can bend it. It’s very easy to bend around on the braided cable, we have a volume regulator and there’s also a mute switch, you toggle it back and forth. Now, the rotating boom mic does feature a hardware noise cancellation built in so that’s gonna help if someone on the other side of the room is making noise. It will really help cut out that excess noise and isolate your voice.

The mic sounds good for gaming, Skype call, web-chat, and for any casual use. For the recording of any professional work, this will not be good. 

SOUND:

I also listen to some music through the G430 headset, I’ve got 40mm drivers as well. So, it’s got fantastic sound to go along for its functions and also the way it looks. The sound in game was really good.

The sound of everything in game can be heard very well. The sound of gunshots, explosion, bombing sounds and also the crowd sounds can be heard well. The surround sound is not that much good in gaming and it puts the performance more worse situation. For music it works well but it’s no very good for listening music. For this price, this does the job well.

Logitech G230

I listened to some music and heavy metal actually sounds very good with it. It’s not comparable to like high end headphones but it’s not that bad Usually, when you’re dealing with a gaming headset, music doesn’t sound amazing but it sound better than some other products. With metal and bluegrass and classical, they sounded pretty good.

They also sound better than most headsets in this price range and indeed most headsets gaming headsets that are a little more expensive. They have nice, clean treble, the high sound good. The mids are not too tinny or anything like that and the bass does sound full. So, the drivers are decent.

WHICH TO BUY?

For the physical structures, almost everything is same in both the headsets. The comfort design and the flexibility to use the headsets and all is pretty good by considering the price. But, the sound card in G430 is not that much worth but if you like the surround sound, I will recommend to buy G230 and separately the sound card because this way of purchasing can reduce the cost.

My main audio complaint with the G430 is the sound card. As the headset itself has potential for both music and gaming, as long as you’re driving them with a proper sound card. Already the stereo is good and the surround sound is much more like an artificial sound.
