INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G502 Hero

This is a wired mouse and it’s an advanced version of original G502. It has many improvements from the original G502 version mouse. Even though the shape and design are pretty similar, the technical feature made this unique and best-selling mouse.

Logitech G Pro Wireless

This is a wireless mouse and also an advanced version of Logitech G Pro mouse. It has many improvements from the old wired version. The only thing that’s a negative for many people is the price of this mouse. 

DESIGN & COMFORT:

Logitech G502 Hero

The G502 Hero mouse looks incredible. It looks very comfortable, it looks premium like they’re using good materials and everything and that’s true. Everything feels premium about this mouse, the feel, the grips, the buttons, the texture, everything feels very good. You’re paying a decent price for it and you’re getting a very well designed piece of technology.

I find this mouse to be one of the most comfortable I’ve used. Of course, that’s subjective, it’s gonna be different for everybody but for someone with a palm grip, I think it’s very good. The G502 in my opinion is very comfortable. The grips on the side feel very premium, they have little like triangle figure texture thing. It looks good and it feels good, very comfortable when you’re gliding it your fingers don’t slip off or anything. Gliding it actually with the gliding pads on the bottom, they feel very good, very smooth, everything is perfectly fine. I have no issues with the feel or the functionality whatsoever.

Logitech G Pro Wireless

The dimensions are 4 centimeters high, width at its midpoint is 5.9 centimeters, the length is 12.5. Now, I use a fingertip grip on this mouse, when I palm grip at, the side buttons just feel a bit too far back and also it’s just becoming more widely known that you’re more accurate when using a fingertip or claw grip. After using this for a while, I realize that my ring finger rested perfectly on the front right-hand side which is normally for your left-hand users but I gave it a shot and I really liked it, I never went back.

The side structure and shape reminds me of the G403 but with mirrored sides. Overall, the great shape choice that makes me think so many people will find this easy to transition to. Larger to medium hands will easily find a fingertip and claw grip, smaller hands will find a perfect palm grip.

As far as durability, Logitech did thin down the walls to reduce weight but you can’t really tell, I don’t feel any flex or have creaks when squeezing on this thing even as hard as I can. It just feels really solid and there are no loose parts or rattling on the inside when shaking it.

FEATURES:

It does have a seven-foot braided cable, so that’s good very premium. If you open the bottom of this mouse, there’s room to add weights the way it’s coming included in the box and you could add weight on the top half, bottom half, the sides, whatever you want. I personally use them without weights, I use a mouse without any weights, it’s fine the way it is in my opinion but if you want to make it a little bit heavier on any side, then that’s up to you.

There’s no weird movement with the mouse and with the cursor. If you move it slowly or if you move it in any direction, it’s gonna move wherever you want it to move, it’s not gonna act weird. If you bump the desk it’s not gonna move all of a sudden that actually happened with the Mamba Elite. So, my gaming experience with this mouse has been perfect.

The lighting, this is one area where I wish we had more up. It was only one zone and it’s the G on the top of the mouse. However, when you’re using the mouse, your palm covers it, so you can’t even see the lights. It does look good but I just wish there’s more lighting on the sides or something. It just adds a little bit more lighting, it would have looked a lot nicer.

Logitech G Pro Wireless

The G Pro Wireless is a medium-sized mouse coming in weight at 80 grams, sporting the hero 16K optical sensor. It’s ambidextrous with fully modular side buttons for all left-hand users. It’s also rocking a 48-hour battery life, high-quality switches throughout power play wireless charging compatible, and excellent software support for full customization.

There are so many strong features to this mouse. The wireless technology improvements over the past few years have been incredible. So, if you’re worried about latency, accuracy, or responsiveness while using wireless, this thing is incredibly accurate. I’ve never had an issue with connection or performance and if you’ve been holding out on trying a wireless gaming mouse for any of those reasons, it may just be the time to give it a go.

Out of the box, you get our matte black G Pro Wireless mouse, six-foot micro-USB cable, wireless USB hub which is for the USB dongle and additional 10-gram weight for heavy mouse users and also we have our side button replacements and dummy covers for our ambidextrous users. The 6 foot USB cable pairs to our USB hub that holds the wireless USB dongle. This setup sits just above your mouse pad, this configuration is how the Lightspeed Wireless achieves wired like connection and it works great, I can’t tell the difference going from wired to wireless mice.

The side buttons are light to press and have a nice crisp actuation with a final click that doesn’t affect your aim. All the side buttons are modular and can be disabled in the software or mapped to your choosing. The button covers are easy to swap out, they’re held on magnetically and they just pull away and you can configure your buttons however you like. Now, the mouse one and two clicks are crisp, light, and soft. Very small pre-travel and what feels to be an even smaller post-travel. These really quickly became my favorite clicks yet, there’s little to no side play whatsoever. The actuators are rated for up to fifty million clicks.

The scroll wheel has been thinned out to reduce weight, thin rubber ridges covered the width of the wheel, smooth tactile steps and I have no complaints. Now, the mouse is a very light press surprisingly, definitely an easier press than the other mice that I’ve tried out.

The Logitech adds another mouse gate at the rear of the mouse to help with smoother glides and the lifespan of the mouse feet. I like these skates which are super smooth even on both pads and they really come to life on hard pads. Liftoff distance was also very well done, so low DPI users no worries there.

As far as battery life with the RGB on, we get 48 hours. Now, with the RGB off, you can squeeze out 60 hours of battery life. This thing has never died on me and the battery charges in about two hours. Now, it also automatically shuts off after a little idle time and even if I leave this thing on overnight, I only lose like 1% of my battery life. Now, the G Pro is also power play charging compatible bring you guys who have the power play mouse pads.

There is a bottom cover and storage section for your USB housing if you want to take this on the go and I got a note that this bottom cover is magnetic, so that could affect people using this on metal surfaces. Also, without the cover, we drop down to 77 grams in weight. So, I always opt to leave this off. If you want to use the power play wireless charging adapter, this brings a mouse up to 82 grams.

SENSOR & PERFORMANCE:

Logitech G502 Hero

This mouse is powered by a Logitech’s hero sensor which is an optical sensor and optical sensors are just preferred over laser sensors. They seem to perform better. Now, this mouse goes all the way up to 16,000 DPI, I mean I barely hit 2,000. I don’t see anybody using that unless they’re just messing around but you do have that option and customization. This sensor will allow it, it could handle it and I’ve played a few games throughout the months with this mouse and I’ve had a very good performance on all of them.

Playing games like Far Cry 5, I find myself getting more and more headshots with a lot more ease for some reason. I mean, I’m not very good at aiming with the mouse but I do find myself getting more headshots with this mouse. Now, maybe the comforts the weights is something but it’s got to be good right the mouse is well balanced, the sensor is very good, and it helps with my aim apparently. So, now this mouse isn’t really meant to help you get better at gaming but it’s supposed to give you that good performance.

The Far Fry 5 was a perfect experience for me, I did play Fortnight, I was able to get one kill which is more than I normally get whenever I do play it. I know that the way you play a game doesn’t depend on the mouse, depends on you but I’m just saying that this mouse is performing very well with the games I do play.

Also, in CS: Go, I performed very well, my aim was actually pretty good and I got used to it after a few kills. I got used to the game of course mouse fantastic and perfect. My aim was very good actually even better than I expected, even with a sniper at times.

The mouse performed excellent once again, I have no issues with it. There’s actually a sniper button on the mouse which lowers your DPI whenever you press it, so you have a 2000 DPI, you have a sniper and when you zoom in at that DPI, it’s gonna be really hard to hit your target. So, when you hit that button, it just lowers the DPI and it moves slower. So, you have more control over your aim. So, when you’re using a sniper, press the button as your aims in and you’re gonna have a much easier time hitting your target.

Logitech G Pro Wireless

Now, for the hero 16K optical sensor, it’s Logitech’s best yet and one of if not the best sensors out. There’s zero filtering and acceleration applied and very clean one to one track.

Now, the G Pro Wireless was designed with input and collaboration from eSports professionals. The professional said the DPI toggle switch should be on the bottom of the mouse to avoid any acts than to DPI switches in-game and Logitech did just that. You can create up to five different DPI profiles and the top LED cycle letting you know which DPI setting you are on.

SOFTWARE:

Logitech G502 Hero

There are only a few lighting modes, you can really customize it much. You can choose whatever color you want on it, static just that color very simple, you’d have it cycle between the colors which is what I normally have it on, or you could have it in a breathing mode which also cycles between the colors but there’s like a little pause in between. You could customize all that in the software.

In the software, you could customize the lighting once again, you could change it up a little bit. You can also customize the button functionality or button purpose. There are 11 buttons in total including the scroll wheel which also tilts to the left and right which I love. Two buttons on the side, the sniper button, the regular left and right-click, scroll wheel click, and scroll wheel tilt, those are the buttons it has and you could customize all of them. Also, you can also adjust the DPI, it also has a dedicated DPI button which raises it or lowers it depending on your presets, you could do all that in the software as well.

Logitech G Pro Wireless

The software will take you from 100 to 16000 DPI at intervals of 50. Now, I’m sure nobody’s going to be using this mouse at 16000 DPI but it’s there if you need it.

The lighting control is very well done in the software and I must note that you never see the RGB while using this mouse because it’s always covered up by your palm. Almost feel as if they should have left this out to reduce weight. I do opt to turn this off as you’ll never see it while using it and you gain a bunch of battery life by leaving it all.

WHICH TO BUY?

Both the mice are very different and one is wired and another one is wireless. I don’t think G Pro is that much worth the cost because it doesn’t have many features like G502 Hero but it’s wireless and has the facility to use for left-hands also. So, if you prefer all these then G Pro may suit you and work well for you. In my opinion, Logitech G502 is also a nice one but it’s wired but has many features for gaming and everything.
