I don’t know if you can get a better all-around gaming headset. The G933 can handle gaming easily. Its built-in mic is really clear, so you’re going to have no problem communicating. But it can also break away from your computer to work well with consoles or a smartphone. I love rocking out in my car to My Morning Jacket while wearing G933. I can even take a call using the headset. It just easily handles any situation you throw at it, which I think makes it an incredible value for the price.

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G533

This is the wireless headset in a mid range of price. The design looks good and also like a gaming headset. It designed full of black color and doesn’t have any RGB lights and all for show. The sound of the mic and the headset is also good enough. 

Logitech G933

When I taking a look around the headset, overall I think it looks really nice and kind of futuristic looking if you’re into that. This headset design is also like the G533 but with the RGB lights. The mic sound is very impressive.

DESIGN:

It’s like a similar design to the G933 but without the extra flow. Most of it is a textured plastic but it has some glossy plastic on the cups which of course picks up fingerprints. It has an extendable a band with metal for strength and durability.

It’s made of the glassy material that is an absolute fingerprint and smudge magnet, so keep that in mind but in terms of flexibility, the headband is very adjustable. But, due to the plastic construction on top, I really wouldn’t try twisting them or stretching them too wide and I definitely don’t like the sound of headset when I tried some twist.

This headset is pretty bulky. I think it looks pretty nice and they feel great on my head but they are bulky. It doesn’t have a low profile by any means, it definitely looks like a gaming headset when it’s on your head.

COMFORT:

The padding is comfortable when wearing glasses and it can breathe. Ear cups are fairly standard 7.5 by 5.5 centimeters across and 2 centimeters deep. The headband seems to have good flex to it, it doesn’t seem tight and they don’t make any sound when I flex this one. This comes rotated so you can rest them on your shoulders too.

Overall, I think that’s a pretty solid construction. It’s not too light well being not too heavy at the same time and honestly just feels great when you’re wearing it. There is definitely ample padding on the headband and the ear pads are a dream, these take over the ear to the next level. My ears had tons of room on the inside to breathe which makes long gaming sessions literally a breeze.

The ear cups are designed to keep your ears cool at the same time, there’s just tons of padding and they’re even washable. The ear cups are also designed to lay flat on your desk or around your neck which is always a nice feature that’s definitely welcome to and consider when I’m picking up a new headsets. Also, these ear cups allows for a few degrees of adjustment in order to fit best on your head.

FEATURES:

It comes with a 2 meter charging cable, just plain rubber and other than the USB adapter that’s all that comes in the box with the headset. They’re fairly lightweight at about 350 grams. There is a volume control wheel on the back as well as a customizable button and it has an on and off switch.

According to the Box, the driver is Pro G, 40 millimeters, 20 Hertz to 20 kilohertz, 32 ohms, and the wireless range is about 15 meters but that will depend on the walls you have in the way. So far it seems to handle walls quite well even better than the G933 at times. The battery life is meant to be about 15 hours which seems fairly accurate by my use.

It uses Logitech software, so it has great functionality and options. You can set the G button to whatever you want. There are audio commands, media, keystroke, multi key, mouse functions, hotkeys, and more. This also shows battery life and gives an estimate. If you’re not happy with the sounds, you can adjust the equalizer and also use the side tone so you can hear yourself talking. It also have surround sound mode which I prefer to live on for entertainment value, not really an advantage in games but either is good.

It features 2 huge over the ear ear-cups. On the left side, we have a ton of buttons including a power switch the g1, g2, and g3 button which are programmable in their software, a mic mute button, and a volume scrolling wheel on the bottom. To the right ear cup, we have a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack if you choose to use these wired then on the bottom is your charging port.

Other things featured are the highly adjustable headband here which will have tons of additional clicks which let’s the headband expand to fit even the widest of heads. On the left hand side, we have a microphone that folds up into the ear cup itself when not in use and then both ear cups have this light strip on the back as well along with a little glowing Logitech logo.

It’s also worth noting that they included a micro USB cable inside the box for you as well as a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack because these wired with your PC and your console. You can use these with your Xbox one or ps4. It has your inline controls which is nice as well also a 3.5 to 2.5 millimeter headphone jack and some RCA cables.

Now, since this is a wireless headset they give you a USB dongle that you plug into your PC and it automatically pairs for you. Getting it all set up was very simple. I was able to walk around my room that them disconnecting or getting that fuzzy sound and I think the battery life on this was pretty good for wireless headset. I got around 6 hours total with the LED lights enabled and I notice a few extra hours with them turned off which is like 8 hours if you have no LED lights on.

I get that lights are a big craze nowadays. Like, the whole RGB thing with the keyboards and things like gaming mice but on a headset which is on your head you can’t even see these lights on the back. It’s absolutely pointless. Now, the logitech do a pretty cool integration with these lights that in theory work but again you won’t be able to see it.

In certain games like CS:GO, it accesses health status bar. For example, if you’re taking damage in the game the lights will start to pulse red and when you die, the LED light bar will just turn red altogether. They do also have the breathing and pulsing effect for certain colors, a color shift option that goes in and goes through the spectrum of colors and the ability to sync with your Logitech mouse and Logitech keyboard.

The buttons of G1, G2, and G3, we have them preset to do things like toggle different sound profiles or even color profiles and they each have this tactile click when you press them in. But, when you take into account on the back of the headset that how much buttons are actually are power button, the 3G buttons, the mute button, the volume wheel, the odds of you correctly pressing that button that you’re trying to hit is very slim. I was constantly pressing the wrong button. So, I couldn’t see which one I was actually pressing and these macro keys are best fit for something like a keyboard not a headset.

The shields on the ear-cup are very easily removable and gives you the freedom to print your own or even buy ones that certain games have branded if you want to kind of personalize the look of it. It’s cool and all but they’re only held on by these two magnets on the inside and they are constantly falling off.

MICROPHONE:

On the front of the headset, the microphone isn’t hidden like on G933 but it is extendable. The mic on the G533 is meant to be noise canceling, loud and clear. The sound is too low. The volume will be good when you use 10db gain. It’s still tinny, it doesn’t sound natural and there is a fair bit of background noise now too. There is automatic microphone noise removal and the software.

I think the bleed is fairly well controlled. You could walk around the house and not disturb people.

One thing I really liked about the design of this headset is how they have the mic sitting in flush on the side of the ear cup. Once you pull it down, you can extend the tip of the mic closer to be in front of your mouth since the wire here is flexible and gives you the chance to really place it wherever you want. So, picks up your voice and sound quality are the best.

To mute the mic there is a mic mute button on the back of the headset or you can simply just start to push it up about 15 degrees here where we’ll start to mute it for you and there’s a sort of tactile click once you can push it up for it to mute. The headset will also show red once it is fully muted and there’s also a little red LED lights on the mic itself.

It’s definitely one of the better mics on a headset that I’ve tried. I’m pretty impressed of this overall.

SOUND:

Logitech G533

Their performance in-game is good. I haven’t found an advantage to any yet other than a very slight location awareness with the 7.1. For the headphone quality, they’re actually pretty good. They seem to us a fairly tight sound. When I compared them with the G933, they seem to be missing some of the mid and high range. They had a warmer sound that could either be a good or a bad thing, it really depends what you want.

I tested the sound of G533 and the G933 in visualize form. In the visualizes, it’s clearly showing that the lower range is a bit up on the G533, giving it that warmer sound. The G933 is flatter across the range with more volume on the mid highs and highs. Now, most of the people prefer a deeper bass sound, less emphasis on the highs. So, I’m assuming they’ve done this on purpose as it’s going to be heard as a more pleasant sound from many people even if it’s not as accurate as between G933.

Overall, I think this headset sounds really great for being a wireless headset. Gaming with it was just fine, I was able to hear everything in the environment around me as well as proper directional audio which is a big thing when considering a headset. In all the games that I was playing, the sound-stage also seemed very wide and the bass was actually really good for a headset. It made things like explosions in the distance, sound pretty fascinating.

You can go into their Logitech software, you can enable their 7.1 surround sound and mess around with a few EQ presets. For me, I always keep it on the traditional stereo preset, I don’t really mess around with any of the settings. When you start to do that you start to get this fake emulated sound quality. If you want the best sound quality, keep these on the stereo presets and when you have that 7.1 surround sound enabled, it has the kind of tinny and hollow sound. It just wasn’t good at all, just keep it free set or even go to the FPS preset if you value things like listening to footsteps.

CONCLUSION:

It’s essentially a comparison between 933 but it’s missing a few features and has some minor improvements and of course, the overall quality perhaps not quite there other. It’s great to have on a wireless headset. The sound quality, comfort, wireless range, all are good at the price point and I’m actually happy to keep using them. If you’re in the market for a wireless headset but you don’t want to spend the extra on the G933 or another brand, it could be a good option.

The pros of the headset are it does sound really good, the mic is definitely one of the best I’ve heard ever on a headset. You can buy this one if you value a good sounding wireless headset that’s really important to you with a great mic and you have some money to throw around but turn the lights off, don’t use the buttons on the back.
