It’s not a huge achievement to tweak one of the best mice in production and make it a little better, but that doesn’t make the Logitech MX Master 3 any less exceptional. It’s as smooth and luxurious as the Microsoft Surface Precision but stronger when…

The latest MX Master 3 is easy to recommend. It’s wide breadth of abilities and high level of refinement is unmatched, though its high price, is a bit of a stumbling block. But if you can get past that, the MX Master 3 is one of a handful of peripherals that will incontrovertibly elevate your computing experience. If you are always on your computer, this is an investment you won’t regret.

Expert Reviews of Logitech MX Anywhere 2S:

By Lifewire
The Logitech MX Anywhere 2S is a compact wireless mouse that can fit in your pocket and work with multiple devices.

By Liveatpc
A bit on the pricier side, but a solid mouse that handles your day to day work excellently. The additional features improves productivity greatly, a good mouse to bring for working in any situations.

By Geeklingo
The MX Anywhere 2S is not a revolution in portable work mouse design: it is more of a thoughtful and planned evolution. The Flow feature is a highlight that will be useful for workaholics juggling multiple systems on the go. The fundamentals were already solid on the earlier iteration, and Logitech has managed to improve on those with the Anywhere 2S. If you want an efficient and feature packed portable mouse for work, this is one of the best your money can buy.

By Pcmag
The Logitech MX Anywhere 2 is a well-built, versatile mouse that lives up to its name with a travel-friendly design and a sensor that works on nearly every surface.

To be honest, unless you’re going to take advantage of the Logitech FLOW technology, then it’s not worth the upgrade from its predecessor. However, for someone who uses a MacBook Air and a Windows desktop and don’t have enough screen real estate to work with, the Logitech FLOW does indeed work. Functionality, pretty much similar to Symless’s Synergy, but more elegant.

Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech MX Master 3

This mouse is a trending and best selling mouse out of all the technological mouse. This one has many features and some more technology to make this mouse unique and best. This one is an advanced version from the MX Master 2S mouse.

Logitech MX Anywhere 2S

This mouse is very lightweight out of all other technological mouse and that’s why this can be used anywhere and for anything like its name. This mouse also offers many features like Master 3 mice.

DESIGN:

Logitech MX Master 3

This mouse just comes in two different colors, it comes in graphite and also mid-gray. The mouse is comfortable and every time Logitech releases a new mouse, they talk about how they’ve and worked on the ergonomics of it and you’re not gonna find anything that’s a really big step up in ergonomics with this mouse but if it has been a couple of generations since you’ve used an MX Master mouse, you will find this mouse to be incredibly comfortable even for people who have big hands.

I personally do like the texture that they have on the side where you’re gonna be resting your thumb. So, it really allows you to get a nice, really good grip and something that should be comfortable for long sessions.

Logitech MX Anywhere 2S

Inside the box, you obviously get the mouse, a USB receiver, charging cable, and the manual. This comes in three different colors which are graphite, midnight teal, and also light gray, so light grey is more white color and midnight teal is blue. The mouse itself is pretty small and weighs about 100 grams. If you compare this with the Logitech MX Master, there is a huge difference.

It may also be a little small for some people but for me, it’s fine even though I’m very used to the MX Master. It’s small but that’s what I want from a mouse when I want to go traveling.

FEATURES & PERFORMANCE:

Logitech MX Master 3

Inside of the box, you have the mouse and you have a USB-C cable which is a nice addition because now it does have a USB C port in the front. So, in just one minute of a charge, you can get three hours of use out of this and if you just give this a full charge, it should be able to last you around 70 days. Also inside of the box, you have their unifying USB receivers. Now, you can connect this mouse via Bluetooth or using this receiver to your computer.

If you look underneath this mouse, you’ll find a couple of things including the on/off switch, and then also, you’ll find the button that will allow you to switch between the up to three different devices that you can have this mouse connected to. So, using the combination of Bluetooth and the USB receiver will allow you to just as quickly switch between these things without having to plug or unplug anything.

On the left-hand side, you will find the thumbwheel which has been redesigned along with the thumb button. So that thumbwheel looks to be a little bit bigger and they’ve also elected to move the thumb buttons below the thumbwheel instead of having them on the side of it as they have with the 2S. So, this makes it easier to reach them and below these buttons, you have their gesture button which allows you to do a couple of things. So, you can just press the button like normal and I have a setup to do like mission controls. So, it will show me all of my apps on the screen but you can also press and hold, and then now you can swipe up and down and left and right and you can set these up to do different actions. So, I have this set up to do the Mission Control app expose and also to be able to rotate through all of my open apps.

One thing I would like to see with this is just that if it was actually moved to where your thumb is naturally resting which is right there on the side of the mouse because in order to use this yet that either like rotates your thumb over to the left to be able to press that button or you just have to move your thumb all together. So, I think this is something I can get used to but I would love to see how they have it on their Triathlon mouse where it’s just right there where your thumb is naturally resting. So, you can press it without having to move it at all.

In this, Logitech is introducing their mac speed wheel. So, this is a wheel that’s going to be using electromagnets and to not get super technical, it’s basically going to allow for less friction. So, when you’re using it, it’s going to be smoother operation and Logitech says you can get up to a thousand lines in one second that you can scroll with which is insane. So, if you have like excel documents or just things that have a lot of different pages on them, you can be able to scroll through them with ease with this and it’s also going to be super quiet. This is a nice step up from their previous scroll wheels that I’ve just really gotten used to hearing that sound, now it’s gonna be kind of hard to go back to that. Also, I just really like the feel of this because it is machine still, so it has a very nice tactile feel to it.

Also above the macro, you do have a button that will allow you to switch between this super-fast scrolling mode to another mode that’s more like a step-by-step mode. So, you can easily scroll up and down with more accuracy.

You can also copy and paste files, this is a good way to transfer things over just using this which is incredibly useful and this mouse does have that dark field 4000 DPI sensor which can track on many different surfaces including glass. So, I mean the MX Master lineup of mice has always been aimed at being to do everything like a mouse. Now, if you want something that’s gonna be for gaming, I mean you can still go with like there G903 which is going to be lighter and just more comfortable for very fast movement but for me, I like to throughout the day just switch between gaming and also working on editing a video and I go through two different computers normally my gaming computer from velocity micro and also MacBook and this allows me to do both with the mouse that’s just really comfortable to use and just really adaptable.

Logitech MX Anywhere 2S

There are a few programmable keys on this mouse. There are the two buttons on the side, so Logitech’s options software is actually very intuitive and you customize it however you like and you can assign each button for different functions in different programs. So for example, if I’m using Google Chrome, the buttons can be used for backward and forwards but as I switch to another program like Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere, I can’t just add it to the blade tool and copy tool and you actually know when to switch between the different programs. So, the multi-work which is very cool.

Another programmable button is the button right below the scroll wheel. You can program this to do whatever you like also and the scroll wheel is also clickable but this is not programmable because when you click it is like a switch, you’re scrolling between smooth free-scrolling or click scrolling. Personally, I do prefer the click scrolling because it gives me more tactile feedback and I can stop there wherever and with free-scrolling, you can just scroll through like a long document easily.

You can connect the mouse via Bluetooth or the USB receiver that they provide. Personally for me, I do prefer using the Bluetooth option just because I’m using a MacBook Pro and it only get USB C port. So, to use a USB receiver I would need to bring a dongle around which I really don’t like to.

You can connect up to three different devices via Bluetooth and you can switch easily between the switch on the bottom of the mouse. The power switch is also located on the bottom so that you can easily turn it off.

There is still some downside to this Mouse and the first off is that there’s no place to store the USB receiver. So, you can’t actually like keep it in the mouse, so while you’re traveling and use your computer doesn’t have Bluetooth and you need to use the receiver hopefully you leave it inside the USB port and don’t take it out because there is a very high chance of losing because it’s so small.

BATTERY:

Logitech MX Master 3

The battery life will be up to 70 days on a single full charge and this claims by the company. The battery life in reality is also somewhere accurate. There is a USB-C for charging this mouse and this one will be advantageous for you because this one is like a universal cord for charging. Also, you can see the battery life in the software which shows you like a bar of lines.

Logitech MX Anywhere 2S

To charge the mouse, all you need to do is put in the micro USB cable into the port at the front of Mouse. You can use it even while it’s charging. The battery life is supposed to last for two months according to Logitech and I do hope it lasts that long so that only has to charge the thing like six times in a year.

The battery life on this if it really lasts like two whole months, this is gonna be like super good battery life because I probably forget to charge it for a very long time.

SOFTWARE:

Logitech MX Master 3

Something that’s new with this mouse is actually dealing with their Logitech options software. So, this software already allows you to customize all the buttons on this mouse including these scroll wheels to your personal taste with specific apps or just everything across the board. But now, Logitech is going to be including some predefined apps, specific profiles that they’ve kind of did a little bit of research with people who like to use their mice with a bunch of these popular apps coming from like Adobe and Microsoft and things like your favorite browsers or even like Final Cut.

Now, you can go in and start using this mouse and already have a bunch of presets that will probably be able to allow your workflow to be better. So, I can go from using the thumb scroll wheel and Final Cut to kind of scrub through my timeline to switching over to Google Chrome, and now I can use that same will to go through all of my different open tabs. So, this was already set up with Logitech predefined profiles and it just happened to be the way I like to use it. If I don’t like it, I can go into the option software and change it up.

This mouse can still work with their Logitech flow software which will allow you to be able to drag the mouse cursor from one screen of a computer to another screen that you have right there sitting next to you. Now even though, this mouse can work with Windows, Macs, and also new this year is going to be Linux compatibility. You can still only use Logitech flow with just windows and macs for right now.

Logitech MX Anywhere 2S

The interesting part about this mouse is that Logitech has this flow software that you can use with the mouse. So that means, you can actually connect three different computers and copy and paste images and text between these three devices as long as you’re the flow software installed into them.

You can also customize each button to your own liking which I really appreciate and it’s small enough to just troll in your backpack and move on. You can customize everything in the software. There are many customizable options in the Logitech options software.

WHICH TO BUY?

Both these mice are amazing with their features but each of these will be suited for certain people. If you want more programming and with attending features then you have to choose MX Master 3. Then, If you want a light mouse with some of the same features which is in the Master 3 then MX Anywhere 2S will be good for you. Also, the Anywhere 2S is good for travel and also the price is $40 less than Master 3.
