Samsung Galaxy Buds

The Galaxy Buds are the wireless headphones from Samsung. These are actually retailing for a hundred and thirty dollars. These earbuds from Samsung are actually smaller than the previous models and these have very good comfort.

Jabra Elite 65t

The Jabra Elite 65t is one of the true wireless earbuds models from Jabra. These are one of the budget-friendly headphones available in the market. The Jabra Elite 65t is retailing for a hundred and thirty dollars. These earbuds are pretty good for gym purposes.

DESIGN:

Samsung Galaxy Buds

On top of the case, it’s shown that Samsung sound by AKG. On the back is where that USB-C slot is for charging. When we actually open up the case, it does have a LED indicator light and left and right Brandon. The case also has metal pins to charge the earbuds where the earbuds are to be placed in the case. The Galaxy Buds from Samsung are actually smaller than their previous wireless headphones.

There is a magnet in the case so that when you put the earbuds inside the case, it fits perfectly in its place. But if you open up the case and do the upside-down, the earbuds will fall down as it’s not much magnetic. The magnet is there just to keep the earbuds in place and when you flip open the case, the earbuds may not jump up and fall out of the case. 

Jabra Elite 65t

The design of the Jabra Elite 65t is quite a bit different from other headphones that I’ve tried. They come in three different colors. You have the gold beige, copper black, and the black titanium. You have a mainly matte black design with silver almost copper accents. There is also a lot of perforations in the headphones for microphones to let sound in and also for taking calls. They’re clearly labeled left and right which does help with putting the headphones in both your ears and also back into the charging case. Overall, the earbuds have a nice feel to them. You get built-in controls allowing you to skip track, play or pause the music, and adjust the volume which is really awesome to see and also summon your digital assistant. These earbuds also feature IP55 water and sweat resistance.

When the build is slightly let down isn’t actually in the headphones but more in the actual charging case. It doesn’t feel like it holds 120 dollars. The lid is a little loose and hard to open with one hand but worst of all is the fit of the headphones in the case, just isn’t that great. There are no magnets to hold the headphones in when charging them like on the Airpods, which means that you don’t get that satisfying click when charging them. So, it’s a little bit disappointing to see something from Jabra. You kind of have to just place them in the case and close the lid, it should be fair with a very tight fit and with no wiggle remains at all but after the lid is closed the headphones move around a lot and they ultimately fall out.

COMFORT:

Samsung Galaxy Buds

These earbuds are very comfortable to have in the ear for extended periods of time. I noticed that they are absolutely not gonna fall out of the ear. So, that’s something you need not worry about even if you are running or doing any crazy physical activity. You also have options for your ear tips and ear wings in terms of size. You can actually swap out the specific ear tips or ear wings depending on your ear shape and size and use the one which fits you perfectly.

Jabra Elite 65t

The fit of these headphones is actually really good. As always the fit will depend on your own ear size and finding the right ear tip but overall, the seal is good and the fit over longer periods of time is great. They also do a good job of staying in your ears for workouts, run, or just, in general, moving around. I’ve had no issues with these earbuds falling out or coming loose over long listening sessions. I wore them the whole time and I had no issues whatsoever. You do also have a bunch of silicone ear tips to choose from the small, medium, and large-sized ear tips to get the perfect fit.

The box claims six hours of playtime continuously, clear call and sound quality that’s because they have dual microphones when you talk on the phone these should work just fine, wireless charging, and then designed for comfort and stability. Inside the box, you do get your charging case which will actually hold those earphones, a couple of ear tips, and ear wings and we do have our USB Type-C charging cable.

For the paring process, you need to keep the Bluetooth open on your phone and you need to open up the case. Once you open the case, the phone will recognize the Galaxy Buds and show you that a new device is detected. Then you need to hit connect and then we can actually run through the connection process and can run through the setup process.

You are getting the Samsung Wearable app to customize the functionalities of your earbuds. In the app, you can manage notifications whether you want all apps or any specific app to actually notify you via your headphones. The app also let us know about the Galaxy buds, all setup, and some more information about how you can use it and all. The app also gives some quick info about the functionalities of the touchpads in the earbuds. If you tap it once it will play-pause, if you double-tap it’ll skip the song or answer or end a call, then if you actually triple tap it will go back a song, and then finally if you press and hold you actually get a choice. You can choose anyone from quick ambient sound or volume up/down or voice command for left and right earbud. 

There’s also an ambient sound mode, so you can hear things around you. Maybe someone trying to talk to you or you need to actually listen to something, you can actually touch and hold to turn down the media volume and turn up ambient sound temporarily. If you turn on ambient sound, it would let in the background noise, you can easily customize the volume of it that how much ambient sound you want, and also it does have a voice focus feature. 

Within the app, you’ll notice an individual battery status on the left and right buds. You have an equalizer built-in, so if you want a lot more bass or treble, etc you can adjust it all as you want. Then you can manage your notifications. Within the app, you do have the “find my earbuds” feature. If you hit Start, the earbuds will actually start beeping so that you could find them easily, just in case you lose them. These earbuds actually have wear detection feature too, so the earbuds will detect when you put them in your ear and take them off and turn on/off what you hear automatically as the case may be.

Jabra Elite 65t

With the Jabra headphones, you also get access to the Sound Plus app and this allows you to change sound profiles to get a bit extra bass or increase vocals for a podcast for example. You can also modify the cool talking experience to help make phone calls clearer and also louder. You also have the option of “hear through” feature, which allows the outside noise to come in via the microphone. It will pause the music or lower the volume but ultimately allows you to quickly hear the outside world. Lastly, you have your digital assistance to choose from whether that’s the Google assistant Siri, or Alexa depending on your phone or just in general your personal preference.

With Bluetooth 5.0 on board, there are little or no issues with the connectivity. I tested out the lag latency with these what I mean is, is there any delay with what we see and what we hear. It works pretty well actually and also hardly any lag while watching for instance YouTube, Netflix, or any video on your device. 

BATTERY AND ITS LIFE:

These earbuds do charge wirelessly, within the case. If you do have a wireless charger around, you can just go ahead and set the case on. If you have the Galaxy S10 or some other phone which can actually turn into a wireless charger, you can go ahead and turn on a wireless power share, flip the phone upside down, and just set the case on the back of the phone. It’s actually convenient as you can just plug your phone in and then just go ahead and set the case on top of the phone to charge both of them at the same time. The earbuds have 6 hours of playtime and with the case, you will get an additional one charge. I continuously used these earbuds for about five hours straight and I ended up having about 25% battery life left. I used these earbuds for music, Netflix, and a phone call as well for about five hours still the battery remained at 25% which is very pretty good.

Jabra Elite 65t

The good thing is these earbuds carry around a five-hour charge with a further 10 hours in the case. The five hours may not seem much but you can also quickly charge the headphones in the case, getting one and a half hours of battery life in only 15 minutes. I don’t really like the fact that the case charges with micro USB. Because of that, you have to carry around two cables one for the headphones and one for the phone instead of just one at USB Type-c cable. 

SOUND:

In terms of sound quality, they get very loud. I’ve never actually had to turn them up all the way even over a big airplane engine noise, so that’s actually a very good sign. In terms of quality, they seem fairly average, maybe a little bit above average for wireless headphones. The bass is what little low but you can adjust it within the Samsung Wearable app. Actually, you can customize the sound setting as want with the help of the equalizer in the app, which is really nice.

Jabra Elite 65t

The sound quality of these headphones is a standout feature. For me, I’ve been trying out more of the budget headphones, so the spectrum for sound quality is very close but after using the 65t’s I can never go back to that budget option. With the 65t’s the bass is deep, the mid shine, clear vocals, and even I can hear some instruments sound that I hadn’t heard before in other earbuds. Also, the option to adjust the sound of the music using the app helps a bunch to basically make it more bass, if you want to or just bring it down a bit. Overall, for the quality of listening to heavy metal, rap, acoustic music, podcast, whatever it may be, you definitely can’t go wrong with these headphones.

WHICH TO BUY?

In my opinion, the Jabra Elite 65t is good for you to buy because it has better sound quality, better comfort and fit for the gym purposes, and better battery life than the Samsung Galaxy Buds at a price less than the Galaxy Buds. But you do miss the feature of wireless charging and the USB-C for charging with the Jabra Elite 65t which the Galaxy Buds have. You can choose from these which one you prefer the most.
