All things considered, the Logitech G933’s are an absolute steal. Everything from the exceptional microphone quality, to the brilliance of the surround sound and the customization of the lighting, this headset is perfect for any gamer in need of an upgradeBy VentureBeat
I don’t know if you can get a better all-around gaming headset. The G933 can handle gaming easily. Its built-in mic is really clear, so you’re going to have no problem communicating. But it can also break away from your computer to work well with consoles or a smartphone. I love rocking out in my car to My Morning Jacket while wearing G933. I can even take a call using the headset. It just easily handles any situation you throw at it, which I think makes it an incredible value for the price.By PCworld
The Logitech G933 would be a pretty good headset at its list price of $200. At its pretty-much-permanent sale price of $150 to $180, it’s probably the best price-to-performance ratio you can get for a wireless headset right now.
Detail Review:
INTRODUCTION:
Logitech G Pro
This headset retails for under $100. These are something special headset for gaming. The design, build, comfort all are pretty good. This is not any high end headsets and also not very low, this is something average quality headset for the average range of price.
Logitech G933
This is a wireless headphone of the Logitech, this something special for the gaming. The design, sound and mic all are pretty good.
DESIGN:
Logitech G Pro
They are lightweight, whenever you put them on your head they just feel like they’re floating. You really almost forget that there’s a headset on your head and that is because the majority head set is built out of plastic but every little plastic part on it feels very durable. I mean, I can stretch these thing out, twist them up and everything. We had that full swivel, I can fold them flat and there’s some movement within the ear cups. On comfort you have plenty of fit for any head shape.
Logitech G933
The matte and glossy plastic along with these sort of go-faster stripes give it a bit of a cool futuristic gaming look. I think the materials do make it feel and sound a little bit plastic though but the gamer look is enhanced by the LED lighting strips on the back of each ear cup. The lighting pattern can be customized from within the Logitech software. It is highly customizable and looks pretty cool. it is a bit of a gimmick, you can’t see them yourself because you’ll be wearing them.
As well as the RGB lighting and in between the power and volume rockers are a range of G keys which basically macro keys which again you can change from with an Logitech software. It’s quite handy to have a mute button among others and you could also assign these perhaps to open Skype or team-speak.
COMFORT:
Logitech G Pro
When I saw these ear cups and I thought those things look incredibly soft and cushy but it’s not uncomfortable by any means. It’s a very light, I mean it’s not very light but it is a light clamping force but when you shake you will get a very little bit of movement nothing major by any means. The clamping force is just perfect. I wear glasses all the time it doesn’t push into my frames or anything, it’s a really nice fit.
The ear cups are really soft and plush. They are plush but they’re not incredibly soft. I mean by that is whenever you put it on your head, they don’t really sink into your head. They don’t just really press into there and kind of hold their shape. They are soft but not plush and the clamping force is light, a combination of it all just makes them fit and perfect.
You don’t have pressure points anywhere. It’s not hurting by any means. The ear cups are quite thin on the outside and you think that’d be a bad thing but it’s actually pretty nice because you have plenty of space for you ear and ears do not touch the inside of these speakers. There’s also some extra ear-cups in the box, I don’t from what they made of but they are horrible. Also, as far as the headband you have plenty of padding going across that very soft from end to end and again it just feels fantastic on the head. In comfort and build quality it’s not the best but it’s pretty good.
Logitech G933
Something I don’t like quite as much is the new foam or Logitech calls its sports mesh used in the cups and the headband. It’s not bad but it just doesn’t feel nearly as premium as the leather on the old G930. It is reasonably comfortable though I never felt it get hot around my ears but one issue I did have with you old G930 is I felt the headband digging into my head. Even the foam and material is thicker on the G933. I still find they have the exact same issue, so I comes to constantly have to move them about a bit and push them off and as of all over my head just to sort of move the position. So, it doesn’t quite dig in so much.
FEATURES:
Logitech G Pro
In the box with the headset you have a splitter, your microphone which is detachable with a windscreen on it that you can remove and then some replacement ear pads.
The 3.5 mm cable for the headset is detachable which is a great plus. If you snag it on something or rip it, you can get a replacement. Now, it is a braided cable and it feels incredibly durable but not too stiff it definitely moves around for you. You also have some inline controls on your headset with your volume wheel and then a mic mute or mic active button which also as well feels very durable.
Overall, they are reasonably comfortable and they have a good noise-canceling seal around your ears.
Logitech G933
They are wireless up to about 30 feet, they offer 7.1 Dolby surround sound and you can use them with your PC, games consoles, phones, tablets, and pretty much all your home theater equipment. They also have a built-in mic which you simply pull down to use.
There’s unique design features fully customizable RGB lighting as well as a range of macro keys and not only you can use the Logitech gaming software to play with the equalizers and assign different sound profiles to different games but the headphones support multi source audio mixing. So, you could be answering a Skype call or listening to your music on your PC while you are playing a game on your ps4 or Xbox one.
You can use these G933 and even the older G930 with the PlayStation 4 wirelessly. Basically, you don’t need the bundled 3.5 mm cable which they say you do need, simply plug the wireless USB dongle that comes with the headphones which you can only plug into your PC to make them wireless into the games console and within a couple of seconds, it works perfectly even the microphone.
Something I do quite like is how Logitech’s managed to fit a replaceable battery in the back of one of the ear cups. There’s also a little compartment for the Wi-Fi dongle in the others, it’s really simple idea but being able to store the wireless USB stick inside the headphone for safekeeping if you’re traveling with them is a great idea.
Logitech claim you’ll get about 12 hours about 50% volume. Although I found that they didn’t get that loud. So, I kind of needed to have them at about 100% volume on almost all the time which was fine. But, that would impact the battery life. I could get about eight maybe nine hours of gaming and music, it’s pretty impressive though and when the battery runs low you can just plug in the micro USB into the USB IV PC in charge and then keep going. But, if you really do want some extra and you can always buy a second battery and their hot spot them out if you are a hardcore headphone listener person thing.
MICROPHONE:
Logitech G Pro
As far as the microphone, it is detachable. You do have that windscreen that you remove if you desire and on the microphone you will see a little notch to put it in the correct direction into the headset. This thing can mold into whichever position you want and it stays there perfectly.
I think this microphone is pretty good, really stinking good. It is incredibly good again a little click on the button in the cable active to mute. you’re active in the mute button there, it’s quite firm and you’re doing that little clip going wrong from the other.
Logitech G933
The microphone sounds pretty good and there aren’t any dropouts or anything. I think it does sound perhaps a little tinny maybe a little bit robotic. I think it’s pretty good. Now, personally I don’t think the mic is good enough to voice-over recordings for YouTube videos and I do think it’s definitely good enough for gaming and Skype calls. It’s a solid mic not a professional one by any standards but a good gaming one.
SOUND PERFORMANCE:
Logitech G Pro
As far as sound I test this on every single gaming device from a Nintendo switch, the Xbox one, the PlayStation 4, PC. It sounded pretty stinking good across every single device. Unfortunately, on PlayStation the volume drops just a little bit right there but honestly with this headset they still sounded pretty good. It’s still something very immersive and punchy. It is one of the better 3.5 sounding headset I have tested on PlayStation 4.
Now as far as every other device, they sounded fantastic. It’s a little bit low-end heavy kind of with that bass and that made kind of jumbled together a little bit. I felt like the mids and the bass were kind of a little bit together. So, you didn’t have that punch and you had that Rumble but again the mids kind of jumped in a little bit and almost flattened it out. But, you also had your trebles backing it all up and it sounded fantastic.
Playing a lot of Call of Duty, I’ve been playing a lot of the gunfight lately and you need to really catch your footsteps and everything with that and I really got very precise footsteps, I was able to really pinpoint those footsteps that sounded fantastic. As far as sound I was very happy with my experience gaming with them across every single platform.
Logitech G933
Sound quality and what sounds nice to you is very subjective but on the whole, I think they’re excellent. The Logitech gaming software which you can download for free on your pc, you can change the audio levels and create your own custom equalizer settings. So, you can either pick one of six presets like FPS flat and cinematic gaming which alters what you’re doing to suit what you’re playing. I personally found the default fps to be a bit flat and a bit tinny where’s the cinematic gaming, when a little bit overboard on the base. It might be good for movies but generally I found the presets that is not that great although I did think the communications preset had the best of balance of bass and treble, so I would waylay up the communications preset.
The great thing is you can customize that to suit you and your ears and what you like to listen to. So, you can change all the balance all the settings so I think that’s really a big plus.
In terms of sound quality, I don’t find these really to be a noticeable step up over the previous G930. However, there are big improvements in terms of wireless connectivity and in other areas. The G933 are gaming headphones, they don’t offer the same richness and fidelity in my opinion that dedicated music headphones like the Sennheiser HD 650 S or the Grado SR325ES do but then again they’re not Wireless, they don’t have some point one surround sign and they don’t have a built-in mic. So, considering these are gaming headphones I think they’re actually really good.
Logitech’s new pro G drivers in the G933 produces some the best surround sound I’ve ever heard from a pair of headphones. In the Logitech gaming software, you can slip between Dolby surround sound and DTS. In my experience though the Dobby sounds a lot better than DTS in pretty much every situation.
I think there’s a huge difference between stereo sound and surround sound, it really is a key selling point of these especially in games. It makes all the difference when you’re able to hear the voices and the footsteps and the guns going off behind you. I’ve been playing a fair bit of Rainbow six siege lately, a lot of tense moments when all you can do is wait and basically listen for the other team to come into breach in, so to be able to make out the footsteps from sort of any direction around you is genuinely useful and actually give you a bit of advantage and obviously makes the whole game a lot more immersive.
It is worth mentioning though that these headphones don’t support surround sound other do, the older G930. When you’re using a with ps4 or Xbox wired or Wireless as it requires the Logitech gaming software to be installed on a PC so you can’t get 7.1 on consoles which is a shame.
CONCLUSION:
Logitech G Pro
The build quality and comfort is pretty good in this headset. The sound is great for this price range. Considering the price, the mic, sound, the design and all the other things are good.
Logitech G933
The G933 are a lot better whatever the issue was it’s been fixed. I had no dropouts, no distortion or anything of walking up to sort of 3035 feet away from the USB dongle which is mi PC. G933 is a worthy upgrade over G930. I think the wired G633 models are a better option about 125 pounds or $150, to get the wireless model just to get rid of one cable then you do have to worry about battery life. Overall, I am very impressed with the G933. it’s a great package and definitely one of the best gaming headsets you can buy.
