Amazfit Bip 3 Pro vs Bip U Pro: Similarities
Let’s start with the similarities. They both wear the same straps and have a relatively similar relative build.
1) Design & Features
Both have physical buttons on the sides and 2D glass to be very scratch resistant. They both have removable straps, which is nice because if you did have one, you could replace it with the other.
The Bip 3 pro seemed to perform a little bit better in my testing, but I think they just did a little bit better with their algorithms because they are using the same sensor for heart rate monitoring, and that’s going to be with sleep and spo2 tracking a bit more accurately. They both come with 5ATM, so the same water resistance, and their heart rate monitor is pretty much the same even though the sensors look a little bit different on the back.
You can access the zep app to see that with both of these devices. While not the best in the world, zep apps are still very good for gathering all of your information.
2) Charging & Colors
Both of these guys have a GPS, but we’ll discuss a difference with that. Differences have essentially the same magnetic charger that can be used on both. When I looked up the bip u pro, it said it comes with a clasp, but I remember this charger. I couldn’t find it, but I used my Bip 3 pro, which went ahead and charged the Bip u pro takes about two hours to charge either one.
They are compatible with iOS and Android devices and have the same color schemes of black, pink, and green.
Amazfit Bip 3 Pro vs Bip U Pro: Differences
All right There are more differences than you would believe, so let’s get into them now.
1) Display
The first and most obvious difference is the body of the Bip 3 Pro, which is slightly larger and does come with a larger display. The Bip 3 pro has a 1.69-inch LCD screen, whereas the Bip u pro has a 1.43-inch screen, which is noticeably larger on the Bip 3 pro.
There is a slight difference in the pixel density. The Bip u pro has significantly more dense pixels. The text is easy to read.
2) Battery Life & GPS
Battery life on the Bip 3 Pro The battery life on the Bip 3 pro is about 2 weeks 14 days, whereas the Bip u pro is about 9 days. When using all of its fitness metrics, the Bip 3 pro will get you in about six to seven days, whereas the Bip u pro will get you in approximately four to five days, so the Bip 3 pro has better battery life.
The Bip 3 pro’s GPS has four satellite systems, including GLONASS so that you will get a more precise and quick reading GPS there. In contrast, the Bip u pro only has a basic GPS built in, so it will take a little bit longer to connect and fluctuate a little bit more. If you do need something with a better GPS, I would recommend the Bip 3 pro.
3) OS & Extra Features
On the Bip u pro, you can use Android 5 or higher and iOS 10 or higher, while you’ll need Android 7 or higher and iOS 12 or higher on the Bip 3 pro. If you have an older device, I’d recommend looking into some things that the Bip u pro does better than the Bip 3 pro.
The Bip u Pro has a gyrometric sensor, which means it has a compass and a gyroscope. During my testing, I didn’t notice anything. Specifically, that would make it significantly better, but you get those extra features, and some people also need a compass.
The Bip u Pro does have a microphone, so you can call Alexa through it to perform any innovative home tasks or to chat; however, because it lacks a speaker, you will only hear a text readout.
I also wanted to sort of demonstrate the size differences between the two. As you can see, the Bip 3 Pro is slightly taller and larger, and the sensors on the back are somewhat different. However, I didn’t find anything in my testing to suggest that the Bip u pro would be more accurate, even though it appears to have more sensors on the back.
Both of these bands are going to be easily replaceable. Still, the Bip u pro will be slightly easier to put rounds in because, as you can see, there is a lot more area where the Bip 3 is slightly more snug in the actual device, making it a little bit harder to take out.
4) User Interface
Getting back to the user interface, they both have the exact readout, but as you can see with the three, you can fit more information on the screen at once if you want to use it for outdoor running. However, even though the Bip 3 has a larger screen, they both have the same user interface.
Conclusions
So what are my general impressions and advice for both of these bands? In particular, the Bip 3 pro and the Bip u pro are excellent in their price range. Both pro variants have GPS, but the Bip 3 Pro has better GPS if needed. However, if you don’t need GPS, you can choose the regular variants. However, the Bip 3 Pro will be better if you need longer battery life.
If you need Alexa or a compass, the Bip u pro will be better, but the display is significantly larger than the Bip 3 Pro’s life, which is again about 14 days, and you’re going to get about nine days on the Bip u pro version.Overall, it does count with a bit of preference where the Bip 3 pro will be a little bit bigger on the wrist and will be easier to check down for time and statistics and stuff like that through the identical UI on both of these.
