INTRODUCTION:

Blue Yeti

The Blue Yeti is the first microphone in the Yeti series microphones. This is one of the popular microphones in the market from the month of its launch itself, and many of the video makers, podcasters, streamers use this mic mostly. This microphone is retailing for around a hundred and thirty dollars currently.

Samson G-Track Pro

The Samsung G-Track Pro is basically a USB microphone. This microphone is so good and so easy to use. This is one microphone that can literally do everything with a connection that required three items it just didn’t make a lot of sense. This microphone is also retailing for the same price as of Blue Yeti currently which is around a hundred and thirty dollars.

DESIGN:

This microphone is designed in such a way that it performs four polar patterns all in one microphone as it has three condenser capsules inside it. There is a mute button in front of this microphone, which starts to flash on muted and glows red when it is unmuted. There is also a gain knob in front of this microphone which controls the sound it’s going to record.

On the backside is where you have got your control to switch between the four polar patterns in this microphone. Also, on the back of the speaker is where you have got the knob to control the volume of the sound you are going to hear from your headphones. At the bottom of this microphone is where you have got two ports, one is the USB port to connect your microphone to your PC and the other is the headphone jack.

Samson G-Track Pro

The reason why this microphone basically replaces the audio interface setup in the studio is this microphone on the back actually has a lining for instruments basically, so your guitar, your whatever instruments you are playing that requires a quarter-inch lining there’s a space for that. You can also monitor your audio, like the audio that you’re capturing with the microphone, you can monitor it from the back by connecting the headphone. There’s also a switch on the back that lets you turn on and turn off monitoring, if you don’t want to do that you can just turn that off.

On the front of the microphone, you basically get a switch to the left side for the three polar patterns that this microphone basically lets you have. This base unit is so heavy that it makes the entire microphone down to very heavy, I mean the microphone itself is really high quality, it’s all completely metal, and it’s heavy by itself but the base unit is heavier than that. Also, you have a switch that lets you decide between the mono setting and the two-track setting.

There’s also a third knob on the front that says volume, this is going to be the volume for your audio monitoring basically. The only other thing that you get on the front of the microphone, is a mute button with a LED, so when you mute it the light on the front of the microphone switched from green to orange and that’s how I know that the microphone has been muted and unmuted.

This microphone comes in a nice box presentation and inside the box, you are going to get one extra accessory along with the actual mic. As this microphone is a USB microphone, you are going to get a USB cable inside the box.  As this is a USB microphone, it is compatible with Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 10, and any PC.

The gain control in this mic is really a great feature to have because most of the microphones in the market don’t have the gain control in the mic itself and they use software for that purpose that you have to download. There is also another great feature in this microphone which is the headphone jack that it has because it allows you to know how the mic exactly sounds and in that way, it allows you to do some changes in the volume level. The most important feature of this microphone is that it has four polar patterns such as omnidirectional, bi-directional, cardioid, and stereo, all in one microphone with the help of three built-in condenser capsules.

Samson G-Track Pro

when you unbox this microphone, you basically get the microphone unit itself, you get a base unit which is actually pretty heavy, and you get a USB cable that is used to connect the microphone to the computer. You also get a little document, it’s supposed to be like a manual or something. If you want headphone inputs on the back, if you want to monitor the audio, you’re listening to as you’re recording it, you can use the volume knob to monitor the audio, and it’s actually pretty straightforward.

You do have the setting to switch between the mono and the two-track setting. On the mono setting, you’re basically recording the voice from the microphone itself, and on the two-track, you’re basically going to be recording the instrument on the back and the voice at the same time. So, if you’re singing and like to play your guitar at the same time, the two-track setting is perfect for you. You can also decide to only record the instrument on the back, for that all you have to do is put it to the two-track setting, and turn down the volume of the mic all the way down, and then increase the volume for the instrument.

My experience with this microphone has been fantastic, you can use it for youtube videos, or on any videos, you can use it for all your voiceovers, you can use it for everything pretty much. This USB microphone can be used as your daily driver. Most of the other microphones cannot be used as your daily driver as they don’t sound that good. This can be used as your daily driver that’s because first of all, it’s very capable, it’s a fantastic microphone, and secondly, it does the set up of three different items to do easily an audio interface, a condenser microphone, and boom harm to be able to use this microphone.

This microphone in my opinion is the best USB microphone that you can buy, the best USD microphone for the money. This microphone can be used by gamers, it can be used by people who do a podcast, it can be used by people who do basically talking videos, and it can also be used if you do voiceover work, or your singer/rapper whatever it is, and if you play an instrument and you need a place to line in your instrument and record at the same time this microphone also lets you do that. They have literally thought of something for everybody who might need to buy a USB microphone, and they managed to get it under 150 dollars.

PERFORMANCE:

Blue Yeti

This mic performs the function of recording in four polar patterns as you select any of the ones out of four. The first mode is the bi-directional mode in which it will pick up the sound from the front and back sides of the mic, and this is mode is useful for taking interviews. The second mode is the stereo mode in which it will pick up the sound from the right and left sides of the mic, and this mode is useful for recording musical instruments and all.

The third mode is the cardioid in which it will pick up the sound from both the sides the left and the right and from the front actually like a heart pattern, and this mode is useful for podcasting, streaming, etc. The last mode in this is the omnidirectional mode in which, it picks up the sound from all the sides that are from all 360 degrees. This microphone really performs its function of recording with all four polar patterns properly.

Samson G-Track Pro

You have got three polar patterns in this microphone, so you have a figure-8 pattern, you have a cardioid pattern, and you have an omnidirectional pattern. If you were talking with somebody else and you were beside each other or something and you were trying to capture all of that audio, then you should use omnidirectional mode. If the person was on the other side of the table, and you both are having a conversation like an interview, then you should probably use the figure-8 or a bi-directional pattern. If you do mostly voiceovers, and singing and stuff like that, you should use a cardioid pattern.

WHICH TO BUY?

In my opinion, the Blue Yeti is really good for you to buy than the Samson G-Track Pro because the Blue does sound better than the Samson G-Track Pro and also, the Blue Yeti has four polar patterns such as omnidirectional, bi-directional, cardioid, and stereo while the Samson G-Track Pro has only three polar patterns such as omnidirectional, bi-directional, and cardioid.
