Detail Review:
INTRODUCTION:
Bose Portable Home Speaker
The Bose Portable Home Speaker brings a variety of use options to the table. You can use it as a Wi-Fi home speaker, a Bluetooth portable speaker, and it is also a voice-activated and voice-controlled speaker. This speaker is retailing for around three hundred and fifty dollars currently on Amazon.
JBL Xtreme 2
The JBL Xtreme 2 is still retailing for around 350 dollars even though that the JBL Xtreme 3 is out and that’s also 350 I believe. Whether you are camping, relaxing by the pool, or just working out in your garden, JBL Xtreme 2 turns any time into party time. This speaker is retailing for around three hundred and fifty dollars.
DESIGN:
Bose Portable Home Speaker
The Bose Portable Home Speaker is available in two finishes, are the triple black finish and it is also available in luxe silver. These finishes are sleek but very durable, you don’t have to worry about knocking your speaker over and causing any severe damage. These are also water-resistant meaning you can use them poolside personally, I think that’s actually one of their best uses, and there is an available charging cradle as an optional accessory for keeping your speaker charged while you’re not using it but also easily docking into and keeping your music going while you are using it.
JBL Xtreme 2
In addition, to be waterproof, the Xtreme 2 is designed to manage drops. The speaker is wrapped with durable fabric that helps t protect it in extreme conditions. The sides in the bass radiators are made of a hard rubber design to take all kinds of bumps, bangs, and drops. Being very rugged, JBL also designed the Xtreme 2 to be extremely portable. Weighing just lower than 5 pounds the speaker comes with a strap to carry around.
If you take a little closer look at the JBL Xtreme 2, you can see there go all the buttons on the top right there and you also have the hooks for the clip and it does come with the strap so you don’t have to worry about that. Then you have your nice little grip at the bottom and it has so much weight you’ll be surprised how heavy it is. All your ports will be in the back inside a flap where JBL also included a USB charging port to charge your other device using the speaker as a power bank.
FEATURES:
Bose Portable Home Speaker
Bose is not only one of the most well-known names in the audio industry but is also one of the most recognized brand names in the world. It was first founded in 1964 and they went on to pioneer noise-canceling technology first used for headsets for airline pilots, currently found in the most popular Wireless noise-canceling headphones that we wear today. As far as the specs and features of those Portable Home Speaker, it features a 360 degrees sound field. Its driver fires downward into an acoustic lens so that no matter where you are standing, you get a rich and even sound. It has a 12-hour battery, features base radiators for deep bass, has both built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functionality as well as multi-room capability.
Bose Portable Home Speaker is compatible with Apple AirPlay but also features Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant built right in with full functionality. So, you can ask either a voice assistant to play your music, check your messages, look up the weather, our interface with your other smart home products. Bose includes an app with the Portable Home Speaker that allows you to perform for more updates, play your music, sync up with other Bose products such as the Bose SoundBar, other lines of home speakers to be used either in multi-room functions or in stereo pairs.
I think the Bose Portable Home speaker has a decent audio quality that’s overall well sounding, they have very loudspeakers that can fill up any room you are in, it’s good that it supports AirPlay 2 as well as Bluetooth and wireless, furthermore, the compatibility with Google and Alexa makes it really a desirable product to have. It is definitely not an industrial leading speaker by any means, the bass in my opinion is a little bit lackluster and leaves more to be desired especially from bass-heavy songs. Overall, audio quality is great however, there are times you will find minor distortion at high volume levels. So, the Bose Portable Speaker is good for anyone who wants a long-lasting product that has decent battery life and fills up any room along with the premium price tag that you pay for a Bose signature brand.
JBL Xtreme 2
Taking your music with wherever you go has never been easier than with the Xtreme 2. This speaker is packed with features designed to make it portable, long-lasting, and to produce incredible sound quality. The Xtreme 2 is equipped with four drivers and two JBL bass radiators. The dual passive radiators effectively amplify the deep pitches and the sound without having the use of valuable battery energy. These radiators put out just the right amount of bass and give you full-range sound and at the same time keeps your speaker watertight.
The Xtreme 2 is rated IPX7 waterproof so it can handle rain, spills, even it can totally be submerged in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. Suppose if you are having a pool party and someone knocks your speaker into the pool, then your Xtreme 2 will go to the surface and it will keep on playing the music. A new feature that added to the Xtreme 2 is JBL Connect Plus. You’ll be able to pair up to 100 JBL Connect Plus compatible speakers for the ultimate party with just the touch of a button or you can just pair two of them for incredible stereo output. Definitely, if the sound quality is poor, it won’t matter how many speakers you sync up but we were extremely impressed with the sound quality.
When it comes to the battery life, it’s supposed to last for 15 hours but normally if you’re going to be blasting it all the time non-stop, you might need to take two to three hours off of it but that still gives you almost the whole day with like 12 hours of battery life. But I used it for about 9 to 10 hours max at work and it didn’t die, nothing happened to it.
SOUND QUALITY:
Bose Portable Home Speaker
As far as the bass, this little speaker puts out a nice little bass that will surprise a lot of people. That’s a pretty good bass but it’s going to shake anything and rumble everything, it’s not a small little cabinet thing like this you’re not going to get any big shaky rumbly bass. But it does have a nice little bass that works well with the rest, the mids, and the highs, the vocals, and the instruments and the bass all work together to give you a nice full rich sound, and that bass definitely does its job.
JBL Xtreme 2
As far as the sound quality of this speaker, it sounds really clear as a lot of JBL products. You get a nice clean sound, really clear, and there’s a nice bass that comes out of the speaker. The bass rumbles, it gives you a nice little shake, and you do fill it with some song, so I really do like the bass in the speaker. The clarity and the mids and the highs are really clean, so the vocals and the instruments were clear and you can notice the instrument separation clearly. But for the size of this speaker, it is not as loud as I thought it would going to be. I was pretty disappointed by the volume that was coming out of this.
WHICH ONE IS WORTH BUYING?
In my opinion, the JBL Xtreme 2 is worth buying for the price than the Bose Portable Home Speaker if don’t need a voice assistant because the Xtreme 2 sounds better than the Portable Home Speaker, have better battery life than the Portable Home Speaker, and also rated IPX7 water and dustproof while the Portable Home Speaker is rated only IPX4 but you don’t get voice assistance with the Xtreme 2 still it worth that price range.
