Bose QuietComfort 35 II

Bose is a popular brand in the market. The Bose QuietComfort 35 II is one of the popular headphones as far as a consumer convenience. The Bose QuietComfort 35 II is currently retailing for around two hundred and thirty-four dollars.  

Bose Noise Cancelling 700  

Bose headphones are always known for the comfort and convenience of the customer but this one is known for noise cancellation along with comfort and convenience. The Boss Noise Cancellation 700 is currently retailing for around four hundred dollars.

DESIGN:

The design of this headphone is pretty good and have a stylish look. There are several buttons for different functions. There is a button to activate active noise cancellation on/off. There are other buttons to increase the volume, decrease the volume, play/pause the track, and to switch on/off the headphone and to pair up the headphone with one or two devices.

This headphone is flexible enough and can be folded and kept in the case. As these are foldable,  it can be kept in a small place without occupying much space.  These headphones are actually designed for the convenience of the consumers. These headphones are made of plastic materials which are stretchable enough, that even they don’t make any creaks or breaks. 

Bose Noise Cancelling 700  

You get a one-piece stainless steel headband with soft padding on the top. You get the soft simple protein leather earcups that feel so good in the hands. The protein leather is way more durable especially when it comes to sweat. If you sweat a lot on a set of real leather ear cups, they’re gonna start to crack up, and they’re gonna look like trash. The protein leather is gonna last way longer. As far as the stretch, any regular size human head is gonna fit these fine.

The headphone is nice and lightweight. This has a stainless steel build quality, which automatically gives it a better build quality than the Sony XM3. These are a little bit heavier but not by much. They do look kind of futuristic. The extendable band here is to be slide down and up. But these don’t fold up, so you’re gonna have to put them in the case as it is. There is a big right and left Brandon on the insides of the earcup. You get eight microphones, so six for noise cancellation and two for voice in these headphones. It has a nice soft leather earcup.

These have a space-age minimalistic style look which I like the most. As far as the weight, they do weigh a little bit more than the Sony XM3 but I’ll gladly sacrifice that a little bit of extra weight for a more premium feel. You get your power on and Bluetooth pairing button, your voice assistant button and your noise cancellation button. If you press it once, that’s gonna put it on ten that’s maximum noise cancellation, press it again it will be at five, press it again that will be at zero that’s full ambient sound on or conversation mode. On the bottom of the earcups, you have your 3.5 input and you got your USB type-c charging slot.

COMFORT:

Bose QuietComfort 35 II

The Bose QuietComfort 35 II is made of plastic and entirely ergonomic materials, so they are comfortable enough. As these are made of plastic, these headphones have a lightweight which doesn’t give any sort of fatigue. There is enough padding on the top of the headband, and also in the earpads. There is some type of leather material on the earcup which helps in not producing any sort of warm feel at times. I used this headphone for almost six hours, I feel these are pretty good at a comfort level. Still, it causes little ear fatigue, unless during the long sessions. 

Bose Noise Cancelling 700  

They’re a little heavier than the Sony XM3 in hand but when you put them on your head, you’re not gonna notice that little bit of extra weight. They still feel lightweight, they feel comfortable and these earcups are so soft. I love it and I noticed that I can’t hear anything even when I didn’t even turn the headphones on, that’s a good sign.

The great thing about the Bose headphones is that they come with a nice hardshell case. You’ve got a little elasticated compartment outside the case, in which you can put stuff. For example, I can just put my phone in there and it’s elasticated, so it’s not just gonna fall out easily. Then inside the case, there is also another compartment in which I used to keep the audio jack cable, so you can listen to the Bose headphones wired if you want to. Along with the headphones obviously, you get a charging cable and also the headphone jack, so these will go into this compartment. You can fold the headphone up and they just perfectly slot in there.

They’re quite arguably one of the best noise-cancelling headphones on the market. I’ve used them pretty much every single day. Obviously, they are noise cancelling and the noise cancelling is amazing like you literally cannot hear anything other than your music when you’ve got these on. Obviously, the noise-cancelling is on high as well because you can switch the noise-cancelling from high to low to medium and that is done by toggling the button there on the earcup on and off.

As far as button functionalities, there is a button to on/off the active noise cancellation and there is another button next to it, which also does the Amazon Alexa and Google assistant because that is the additional feature with the Bose QC 35 II over the original Bose QC 35. You’ve got three main buttons, one is to decrease the volume, one is to increase the volume, and another one is to toggle pause on a song if you press it once and if you want to skip your song from your device that you’re connected to, you just need to click that button twice. There is another button which is used to on/off the headphone. You can also just put that button to the middle to actually clear the headphones from any device and to pair them with a new one or two devices. When you’re setting them up, you have to hold that button until you hear ready to connect.

You’ll need to download the Bose Connect app. Then once you get the app you can switch on the headphones and then the headphone picture will be shown on your phone, so you just wipe them down to connect. Once you’re connected to the headphones on the app, you’ll be able to do several functions from the app itself like you can change the noise cancelling from high, low, and of which you can obviously do manually on the headphones themselves.

Bose Noise Cancelling 700  

These are available in two different colours black and silver. The features here are premium sound, you get in world-class adjustable noise-cancellation and that goes from the ambient sound mode which is fully transparent all the way up to ten different presets, you got industry-leading voice pick up your choice of voice assistant so that’s Google, Siri, or Amazon Alexa, intuitive touch control on the earcup, these are both AR-enabled, you get your music app, and up to 20 hours worth of battery on a single charge.

Inside the box, you get a nice hardshell case, and you get your usual books. The case looks nice and there is a Bose Brandon on the case. The case has a very nice very sleek leather. Inside the case, you have your headphones, a little card right there, USB type-c charging cable, and your 3.5 auxiliary input jack. 

The first thing you need to do is to download the Bose Music app. Once you open that up, connect your headphones and set up all your settings. This app is gonna give you full access to all of the features. From the main page, select your product, pick the headphones, you will get a picture of the headphones, you get the name which you can change to whatever you want, you get your battery in hours, minutes, and a little battery icon indicator. You also have the Bose AR, once they release some AR content, that’s how you’re gonna access it. You get source so you can connect these headphones to two devices at the same time, and then you have settings.

In the settings, you have a product name you could change the name to whatever you want, product tour to learn how to use the headphones, Bluetooth connections, and voice assistant. You also have settings for your shortcuts, if you long press on the right ear cup that’s going to activate your shortcut and you can set it set to hear the battery level but if you want you can have it enable or disable your Wake word self voice. You could set too high, medium, low, or off basically, what that means is how much of your own voice you want to hear on the phone call personally.

Then you have a noise cancellation setting in the app you can turn it on and off, and you have three customizable favourites. The default settings there for noise cancellation is favourite number one that’s ten that’s maximum, noise cancellation number two five that’s in the middle, and number three zero that’s the full ambient sound mode, full conversation, mode full transparency mode.

Then you can enable your voice prompts, you can change the language, you get your auto-power-off setting, you get customer questions and your customer support. You could also control your different levels of noise cancellation using the slider and if you swipe up you have full access to all your media controls, so you can raise or lower the volume, play or pause, skip and reverse the tracks.

The touch-sensitive controls perform the functions like double-tap to play-pause and answer and end phone calls, if you want to reject the call just long-press, if you want to skip to the next song swipe forward, if you want to skip backwards swipe back, if you want to raise the volume to swipe up, if you want to lower the volume swipe down, and if you want to activate Siri, Google, or Alexa just press the button.

I tested out the lag latency in these, and what I mean by that is when you’re watching a video is there any delay from the person’s lips to what you hear. This is pretty good and basically, no lag at all. These might be the best headphones that I’ve used for talking on the phone yet. Wearing these headphones, you can hear your own voice. When I set the self voice to 10, it sounds a little bit robotic but I don’t have to yell. I was talking regular, I can hear my voice crystal clear and the person on the other side too heard me crystal clear. The voice mics on this set of headphones are also really great. If you are somebody that works in a loud environment and you’re looking for a pair of headphones to talk on the phone these might be the best.

BATTERY:

Bose QuietComfort 35 II

The battery life here is up to 20 hours and these headphones also feature quick charge feature. The battery life is pretty good and by my test, it lasts long. I do charge them up but not much. I charge them frequently during once in a week. If you want to save your battery life, you can also use them as wired and save battery life.

Bose Noise Cancelling 700  

The battery life here is also up to 20 hours which is pretty much. The battery here lasts long as well. These are pretty much for one week by my test if you are an average listener. These can be charged with the help of the USB Type-C cable, which is really nice in these as it charges quickly.

SOUND:

Bose QuietComfort 35 II

As far as the lower range and mid-range, this is gonna be a warm headphone. So, the mid-bass does have a little bit of bloom as a result of that. The mid-range is warm sloppy but not lacking in presence. It’s lacking in detail but not lacking in presence, it’s once again their non-offensive sound. It doesn’t sound like anything is missing, for the most part, maybe a small dip in the lower treble but for the most part, it’s a reasonably full sound. It’s just not very detailed. The bass is also punched enough and boosted. It’s not overwhelming at all. These actually sound pretty good.

Bose Noise Cancelling 700  

I tested out the sound quality on these. I played a bunch of different genres of songs, with the volume at high and the noise cancellation off. These sound pretty damn good. If you had ever heard Bose headphones, you pretty much know what to expect. They’re not the loudest in the world and they don’t have head pounding bass but you get a nice, clean, crystal clear sound, and deep rich bass.

WHICH ONE IS BETTER?

In my opinion, Noise Cancellation 700 is better than QC 35 II. The Noise Cancellation 700 has better build quality than the QC 35 II, it has better microphone quality than the QC 35 II, and most of all it has the best noise cancellation technology.

The Bose QC35 II carries forward the same level of audio and noise cancellation performance of the original, which makes it a solid pair worth considering. We found the addition of Google Assistant to be quite useful, at least when it worked. If you use it a lot, this integration will come in handy. We did face some moments where the experience got a little buggy, but hopefully, all these things can be fixed with firmware updates.

They may not be cheap but the Bose QuietComfort 35 II is the bee knees of on-ear wireless headphones. As usual, the sound quality is excellent but the headphones are comfortable to wear too, have 20 hours of listening time, and even build on the previous version by including access to Google Assistant (if you have a compatible phone).
