Detail Review:
INTRODUCTION:
Corsair HS50
The design is almost the same one like all the other HS series but it looks good and simple. The comfort is also good and you can use it for any longer gaming sessions as this is very light. The sound of the headsets is not that much good but for this price range this one is good enough.
HyperX Cloud Stinger
The design of the headset is not that much attractive and maybe not all the people like this design. The comfort is good and the sound is good impressive for this price range. The mic also sounds good.
DESIGN:
Corsair HS50
Although this comes on a budget, it does not look cheap rather looks premium and better than the wired headsets with its premium design and overall feel and surely will give your ability. The chords are rubber and are not braided but that’s thick and of very good quality and also has gold plated connectors. It’s a mostly matte finish all around which is great.
It has a metal internal headband and yolks which provide exceptional strength and feel sturdy but it’s very light at just 300 grams and its design is a slim profile.
HyperX Cloud Stinger
These are different than the other HyperX cloud because it’s mainly plastic. Now, they do have steel extenders in between so that part itself is sturdy.
There’s a simple branding of HyperX up top, HyperX logos on the left and the right, it is very simple. It’s only available in black. The feel of them it’s all plastic but you have to understand this headset is under 50 dollars and the mic itself is to me, worth the price. Your left and right are marked on the inside part of the headband.
When they’re on, they’re extremely low-profile, now you do notice that there’s a microphone sticking up. So, is it something you really want to wear out in public? Probably not but again these are made to specifically be gaming headsets.
COMFORT:
Corsair HS50
It comes with over year cups which are very soft and have memory foam and also accents on the headbands with foam padding here as well. It’s a very soft cushioning here and with real metal grills on the sides which gives this a premium look.
The headband pressure is quite impressive and it feels very comfortable for long hours of use. It’s also adjustable and for its most head sizes but it’s not foldable though and also has a very small tilt angle.
HyperX Cloud Stinger
When you pick them up, the first thing you notice is they’re extremely light and to a certain extent, they feel kind of cheap but honestly as soon as you put them on your head, you realize that the cheap feel goes to feeling extremely light. These have the exact same ear cushions that are on the other HyperX headphones. You notice the comfort like right away, these honestly are some of the best earpads you’re gonna find on any headphones.
FEATURES:
Corsair HS50
It comes in three color combinations of complete black, black with blue and green accent colors. The packaging is standard corsair packaging and inside, you get the HS50 headset, a detachable microphone, y adapter for connecting to be seized.
The drivers are 50-millimeter neodymium drivers which gives awesome stereo performance and also has very good noise isolation. All the controls are present on the headset itself, on the Left driver unit at the back of it you get the volume slider here and also a mute button is present as well. It is compatible with PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobiles too which is best for multi-platform use.
HyperX Cloud Stinger
In this, the microphone is not a separate microphone. This one’s actually built on to the headphones themselves and then the only extra cable it comes with because the cable is not detachable, it is an extension cable that has the splitter so that your mic and your headphone can go into separate jacks for your PC. Now, these are made for your PC, your Xbox one, your ps4, and pretty much anything with a headphone jack.
Now, underneath on the headphones on the right side, instead of having on the cable there’s a separate box to adjust the volume on the bottom of the right ear cup is a slider to adjust your volume. So, you’re able to control it on the headphones themselves.
MICROPHONE:
Corsair HS50
It comes with a completely detachable noise-canceling microphone for which the port is present on the same side in the front which is also easily adjustable to any position and also comes with discord for crystal clear voice.
There is a lot of background noise while checking the HS50 headset but that’s not a problem with this microphone as it’s discord certified and it’s crystal clear. The mic sound is good in this headset but it doesn’t reduce the P and S sounds, I mean the opposite person can clearly hear the P and S sounds of you when you use this mic and it’s not the pop filter mic.
HyperX Cloud Stinger
The microphone is not removable, it clicks when you go up and down that is the way that you mute the mic and turn it on just by simply pulling it down. It does have some bend to it. It is extremely clear and picks up very well and again kind of goes along with the whole value of this headset. I can’t stress enough of how incredible this microphone is for a headset that is under $50.
SOUND:
Corsair HS50
This works best while gaming but it’s actually good for music too with its punchy bass and overall audio being great. You can use it for media consumption too. By considering the price, the sound is good enough. Although the sound is not like any higher-end headsets, the versatility is good in this one. You will get the standard sound in this headset and also for this headset with this price range you can’t expect anything on a high level.
The sound of the headset is too crisper when I tried this on the gaming consoles like PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. Also, to listen to music, this one will give the good audio and sound wise this headset is not so bad.
HyperX Cloud Stinger
For sound, these go right with the other HyperX series and they sound absolutely amazing. I mean for under 50 dollars, you’re getting extreme clarity, you’re not getting overpowering bass. So, if you’re in the market for overpowering bass there may be other options out there. Under $50, there’s not anything that tops these. They do have 50-millimeter drivers, so there is plenty of punch but there’s not the rattle your head type bass. Clarity is extremely good in these headset.
When you’re playing games where you want to pinpoint where sounds are coming from or where people may be, these pick up on that pretty much perfect. Now, they’re not 7.1 surround sound but there’s a lot of spacious sound. So, it gives you really good spatial awareness so that you know where sounds are coming from. Most of the time, 7.1 surround sound is a gimmick. There are some headphones where it really does shot but these with games sounds absolutely amazing.
The sound with music, there’s the same thing. The clarity is incredible, there’s just enough bass there to give your music life like it’s not a flat sound by any means because I felt like the trebles kind of pushed up front. The bass is accentuated enough that when you’re getting that lively sound of the treble, the bass is just enough so that the drums and anything behind it, you’re able to feel as well. If you specifically just want something for gaming and you don’t want to spend an arm and a leg, the HyperX cloud stinger would be the way to go.
WHICH TO BUY?
In these two headsets, I will recommend HyperX Cloud Stinger. The reason is the sound, I think the sound of the HyperX Cloud Stinger will be better than the Corsair HS50 and also the price is less than the HS50 but if you want that one only as a gaming headset. The HyperX Cloud Stinger looks odd with that attached mic, so of course, you can’t use this one as a regular headphone. At last, it will be your choice which type of headset you want.
