Expert Reviews of Google Pixel Buds:

By HotHardware
Google’s done a really nice job with the new Pixel Buds. They offer good design, great sound quality, and seamless Google Assistant integration, plus easy setup and decent noise isolation. Comfort and battery life could be improved, and they lack active noise canceling. Still, like Google’s other devices, the Pixel Buds 2 blend the company’s hardware, software, and services in an effortless, delightful, and uniquely Google-y way. That’s no small feat. And if that’s what you’re looking for, then there’s nothing quite like the new Pixel Buds.

By Wired
I like the Pixel Buds for a different reason. One that’s not really quantifiable when looking at a spec sheet. These are made for the traditional AirPod buyer: someone who wants a pair of headphones that work exactly as expected, every time you use them. For that, they’re the best you’ll find for Android phones. Given the unmitigated disaster that was the first Pixel Buds, I’m thoroughly impressed.

By Mashable
Google’s new wireless earbuds beat the standard AirPods in a few key ways, but there’s still plenty of room for them to grow in future versions.

By Engadget
Google’s updated Pixel Buds are a revelation compared to the previous model. Not only are they true wireless now, but the smart features are reliable, the touch controls are easy to master and comfort is top-notch. Battery life is on par with Apple’s AirPods, but it’s well below average in 2020. Still, at $179, Google has a powerful set of earbuds for the Android faithful that really shine when paired with a Pixel phone.

By The Verge
At $179, the Pixel Buds are priced the same as Jabra’s Elite 75t earbuds, which I’d still personally pick over these for their more dynamic sound and because you don’t miss out on features depending on what phone you have. But if Google Assistant has a decent-sized presence in your life, you might be willing to make do with the downsides of Google’s new earbuds — lacking bass and the occasional swell in outside noise — for the convenience of being able to call upon it anytime, anywhere.

Expert Review of Samsung Galaxy Buds:

Good audio quality, stellar battery life, and a slew of useful features all packed into a very stylish design. That is how I would pretty much sum up the Samsung Galaxy Buds, which is actually quite similar to what many would say about Samsung’s…

By hitechcentury.com
The Galaxy Buds are a tempting proposition for Android users, more so for those owning a Samsung phone like the new Galaxy S10 or S10+ with decent audio performance, a modicum of comfort, and good battery life.

By CGM
The Samsung Galaxy Buds are excellent earbuds for Samsung owners, but disappointing for anyone else.

Launched alongside the Samsung S10 smartphones and priced in the same ballpark as the Apple AirPods, the Galaxy Buds make a natural comparison with Apple’s popular true wireless in-ear headphones. They are also supposed to work better with Android and…

The Galaxy Buds offer better sound and fit than the AirPods, but if you’re willing to look elsewhere then there are better performers available for a similar price.

Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Google Pixel Buds

The brand new Google pixel buds are the latest from Google. I’m actually super impressed with these and what Google is actually bringing to the table. They created a really good product.

Samsung Galaxy Buds

Samsung’s new galaxy buds have been pretty popular with the release of Samsung’s new S10 lineups of phones and it should be because these actually work very well with those phones. Here, we gonna know about what are you getting for a hundred and thirty dollars.

BUILT QUALITY:

Google Pixel Buds

I actually like the fact that Google decided to go with this look, which some people are out there they’re saying it looks like a flat egg. The reason why I personally like the pixel buds case is for this reason, that I can open it with one hand over and over again. They actually gave the same style material and this matte finish that they actually have on the Pixel 4 XL, they brought it over to the actual buds themselves, which is really dope.

I do actually like the charger indicator light that they have located here on the bottom of these and I think it’s kind of dope, because it’s right like slightly underneath, and it’s hidden if you don’t have it opened up. If you open it up, it’s just a nice little glowing look. These do charge up wirelessly.

Samsung Galaxy Buds

When you open the case you can see that the earbuds sit in there pretty cleanly, and the earbuds are pretty tiny. Again that kind of has its advantages, a lot of people don’t want the big obnoxious earbuds sticking out of their ear. You can see where the left and right are marked there in the earbuds. You can also see the two little pin connectors, that’s what you have to match up inside the case for them to charge. Then you see a little sensor so that you feel the earbuds when you’re putting them in your ear, and then when you’re taking them out.

This model comes in white, black, and also yellow. I do think with the white model when you have these in, it looks like you have little cotton ball stuck in your ears.

COMFORT:

Google Pixel Buds

The fact that they actually have built-in wingtips here is a plus because it actually gets used to fit into the ear right. It’s actually pretty easy to fit into the ears. One thing about these earbuds is actually pretty good with these is the volume controls. This works flawlessly every single time that I’ve actually used this. Someone like me that likes to keep volume high, I can appreciate the fact that I can easily turn them down with just swiping them backward or increasing the volume by swiping it up, which I think is really dope. It’s really comfortable in terms of changing the volume as well as wearing it for a longer time.

Samsung Galaxy Buds

The earbuds are very tiny, especially if you want to compare it to Sennheiser’s truly wireless earbuds. The case is slightly more massive. The earbud itself is a very tiny silicon ear tip, and then it has the little wing tip and in the box as well you get extra wingtips and extra ear tips so that, you can find the one that’s going to fit you best. With all earbuds, you need to find the best connection to get the best sound you can get out of these.

FEATURES:

Google Pixel Buds

These are some of the features of the buds, which is really dope, it’s small and it’s like subtle, but it’s actually very effective, and it’s giving you an initial listen before you actually start playing your own music, which I actually thought was kind of dope.

These also include proximity sensors meaning that you can easily take one out of your ear, and it will automatically pause your music, and then you can put it back in and then will start resuming your music right where you left off. It doesn’t come with noise cancellation with these nor does it actually have any form of an ambient mode as well. The noise cancellation feature with these, I can actually understand why they didn’t go that route just simply because if you want that feature into a product like this you easily are now setting that minimum price to about $200 because you’re starting to add more features to it. So, to me I’m actually cool with the fact that they didn’t add noise cancellation into these because honestly with these into my ear and I’m switching these out to the larger ear tips, I actually get a nice seal fit with these and so a lot of the outside noise doesn’t even hear anyway, because the sound of these is actually pretty good.

To be honest, I am a huge Google assistant fan. For me having the ability of Google assistant in your ear is a game-changer because it literally gives you access to so much more and it just changes the game with this. There’s a caveat to that, because if you have an iOS device, then you cannot use the built-in Google Assistant feature on an iOS device. I even tried it with downloading Google assistant on my iPhone, because that is the default one that I personally use and it just doesn’t work on iOS devices and which is kind of a bummer. But, if you do have any Android devices then you do have the ability to be able to use Google assistant I did test this out on my Galaxy Note device that I have right here as well as my Google Pixel 4XL.

Samsung Galaxy Buds

The outside is your touch controls. This I really do like, because it’s not a physical button that you’re having to like push and jam in your ear to get it to do things. You are getting water-resistant one here. So, if you’re out running, and it’s raining, or you’re sweating it’s okay.

Another thing that Samsung pulled back on is these do not have onboard storage like their other models. The other ones had like 4 GHz which were just enough to put enough music on that if you were gonna go for a run, or go to the gym that you didn’t actually have to keep up with your phone. You can just use your earbuds and you can do already use the storage that the earbuds had themselves you cannot do that with these.

You will need to download Samsung’s galaxy wear app so that, you can have the controls and change what the touch functions do. You do have a volume control, and skipping the tracks, but you can also summons your smart assistant.

The ambient mode is basically allowing you to change in everything going on on the outside and it turns your music down. So, if somebody comes up to talk to you, you’re able to communicate and not actually have to take the earbuds out. The other thing with Samsung’s app that you’ll want to download with these is it also gives you some EQ controls. It’s basically some preset settings that they already have in there, but the dynamic one I found was best. I think that the bass boost, or the treble boost, or softer any of the other models or any of the other settings really did anything as well as the dynamic one did.

CONNECTIVITY:

Google Pixel Buds

They’re using Bluetooth, and they have AAC and SBC playback. I really would have liked to have seen Apdex playback, but the one thing that’s impressive about these is the Bluetooth range. It was also impressive that I didn’t experience any kind of lag with watching movies, videos, and games. This will depend on the device that you’re using, because some people that are using an Apple device may experience some lag especially when it comes to using the YouTube app.

The setup experience was actually definitely one of the best, because as is actually working through the Google pixel app, which is something that will actually install once you actually paired them to an Android device, and just to let you know it’s not available on iOS. It does play nice like serene style music.

Samsung Galaxy Buds

These also have no lag with watching YouTube and watching Netflix and stuff like that, that’s really important because that’s what a lot of people are doing. Truly wireless earbuds from time to time do have issues with lag, and I didn’t experience that with these at all. So, you’re good to go.

BATTERY AND ITS LIFE:

Google Pixel Buds

The charging cable does come with a USB-C cable. The battery life is just okay. The earbuds themself you’re gonna get around five hours, or with the charging case, you’re gonna get around twenty-four. But if the earbuds are dead, a quick 10-minute charge will get you two hours of use. So, I really like that these have the fast charge feature and I also like that the case is a wireless charging case. You can just come in drop it on any wireless charger and they will start charging.

Samsung Galaxy Buds

You’re really getting nice portability, but what you’re not getting is great battery life because the battery life on the earbuds themselves says six hours, I was getting more at about five and a half which again that’s pretty close but the case will only give you an additional seven hours. If you own the S10 lineup of phones then you can use the wireless charging on the phone to charge these up. So, you’re always gonna have your phone on you, so you could always see it as well. I always charge them just by putting them to my phone, but if you don’t have the Samsung phone, you do have to know that every time you charge your earbuds, you need to go ahead and charge the case because you’re not going to be able to charge them the next time without it.

These do have a quick charge feature that will give you almost a hundred minutes of listening time just by charging them for fifteen minutes. The case itself has a USB-C input on the back, and it has a tiny little notification light on the front to let you know, where your battery levels at.

SOUND:

Google Pixel Buds

The sound quality here is really satisfying. The sound coming out of these are really good and I don’t think you’ll actually be disappointed. I must say when it comes to gaming, I did notice that there was a slight bit of latency, when it comes to playing games on this. I noticed with subways surf there was a bit more of latency with that game in particular, but I did notice with my PUBG or Call of Duty it wasn’t as bad as it was in subway surf. So, maybe there’s a difference in different types of games where latency is more than it is on other games but just keep in mind at least with those games, I did notice there was a bit of legacy with these but Other than this, the sound quality is the decent and smooth amount of bass. In the Jabra leaks that I actually have the 75t’s, which I feel is just has a crazy amount of bass that comes with those, but I really like the quality of sound that actually coming out of these.

When it comes to an ambient mode feature, if you are not familiar with ambient mode basically this is a feature, where it’s gonna allow you guys to be able to hear like the outside world around you. It means that it will turn on the actual speakers on these and it’s gonna allow that air and that sound to pass through the speakers into your ear canal to be able to hear the surrounding world around you whether you’re on phone calls, or whether you listen to your music and different things like that.

I have absolutely zero complaints when it comes to these in regard to the quality of audio coming out of these.

Samsung Galaxy Buds

It sounds by AKG. AKG is a Harman company that Samsung owns. They only make sense, that they’re the ones that would be tuning the sound in these. These have more of a higher treble clear crisp sound. I felt like the bass was the one thing that was kind of lacking, and it’s not saying these don’t have bass, it is a tighter punchier bass, it’s just not very impactful. So, on songs like hip hop and metal, where you’re used to kind of feeling drums and feeling the base hit, these always felt like they were just slightly pulled back. It might not matter to most but for my sound preference, especially considering I like to feel bass. So, I wanted a little more out of these. I also wanted just a little more volume as well. It’s not to say that, these things don’t get loud they do, but everybody knows you hit these times, where you just want to turn the music up as loud as you possibly can and it just felt like again you were limited with these.

Samsung did do right in these is the soundstage was surprisingly good. You could really tell where instruments were coming from and it’s not saying these sound like open-back headphones at all. It’s definitely nothing like that, but it does a good job of not feeling like your music is right here crammed into a tighter space. You do feel some awareness, you can pick apart different sounds, and for that, I feel like Samsung get an incredible job. That might lean more towards the fact that they’re going towards a brighter crisper sound, because if you put a lot of bass into your buds sometimes it starts to get muddy, it starts to feel like everything’s crammed together, and these never had that. So, I can say that based on the sound, I think they did a really good job especially, for people that are just doing more communicating, people that like to watch media.

WHICH ONE IS GOOD?

In my opinion, if you own Samsung’s new lineup of phones the S10, then it’s kind of like Apple users buying the air pods, the functionality of them makes complete sense, and it’s just easy to use. But for $130, they lack many features like battery life. If you need a long battery life then you must choose the Google Pixel Buds in which you will get more battery life and most of the Google Assistant. The Price doesn’t matter in front of the quality and the features we get from.
