Detail Review

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G403 Prodigy

You will notice that the wireless version is a bit heavier than the wired G403 which is no surprise. Their technical specifications are basically the same as they have the same sensor type and body shape. While, they also share other pointed out features like the implementation of RGB lighting, modular weight system, and six programmable buttons.

Razer DeathAdder Elite

These days, you are spoiled with choice when it comes to a gaming mouse. There are a bunch of great choices and even newer brands like the Glorious Coolermaster. This Razer Deathadder Elite mouse is introduced four years ago but it is still in the competition, so this one is that much good wired mouse.

DESIGN & COMFORT:

Logitech G403 Prodigy

Take it a close look at both mice, you can see how the G403 supports a very simple and straightforward design with six buttons and overall very familiar shape and decent build quality with few design highlights like this rubber-like material and its surface transition onto the right side of the shell. Both are very similar to the recently released G Pro series based on which Logitech actually made the G403 series but with the goal to make them a bit cheaper at least the wired version.

When it comes to ergonomics G403 will fit like a glove for the majority of users as its shape is pretty standard industry-wise. The cables are all completely braided and decently thick in both models.

Razer DeathAdder Elite

It is probably the most iconic shape in all Gaming Mouse history. Razer sold more than 10 million of them and it is famous for a reason. It is very comfortable for medium to larger hands. If you tend you hold your mouse in more of a claw grip or a fingertip grip, it’s not the most comfortable shape and the weight doesn’t really help coming in at over 100 grams. So, for the palm and right hand, it is one of the most comfortable Mice in my opinion. Gaming Mouse companies were pushing added weights to Mouse as an improvement and as a feature like Logitech G502 that made the thing incredibly heavy and that was supposed to be an improvement to your gaming control.

There are two places where the Deathadder definitely shows its age, it’s a little bit on the mouse cord and on the mouse feet. Both things are greatly improved in more recent mice. Razer has a paracord type of cable, it’s lighter weight, it’s more flexible, and less prone to being stuck when you’re playing but the cable is okay, it’s not rubberized on the outside but it’s definitely a downside of the mouse design. Razer has more traditional feet, these days you can have PTFE feet that tend to glide much better on the mousepad. I think if you were to replace anything on the Deathadder Elite, I think that’ll be the feet.

FEATURES & PERFORMANCE:

Logitech G403 Prodigy

The things coming in both the wired and wireless mouse is pretty identical. You just get a micro USB charging cable, wireless receiver, and an adapter for micro USB to a standard USB port in the wireless version. Other than that, everything that comes with it is the same. The box also contains a coin like 10 grams of additional weight to put into the mouse.

The left thumb buttons are big, easily reachable, and distinguished from each other but I don’t like their clicky feel, they are really mushy and flimsy while the cheap plastic buttons add to that feel. The main left and right buttons are firmed but very tactile and fast, while the middle click and rubber scroll wheel feel a bit hard. Behind it, you will find a dedicated switch for the on-the-fly DPI change.

The G403 also carries the top-of-the-line and currently one of the best optical sensor on the market, the Pixart PWM 3366 with it, and with a bit more modern design. Logitech aimed to be more appealing to your average player one who takes its gaming a bit more seriously but then not so seriously as a competitive pro gamer. Beside the sensor, you will find your usual Teflon feet and an on/off switch for the Wireless G403 model.

You can change the weight of the mouse, nothing too substantial, just by 10 grams using this simple magnet system. Taking them for a spin, just like with the G Pro, the G403 is also very seamless in its use before all precise and fast as any other model out there with the same sensor and in context of this particular model without any fatigue on the long run on the count of its simple ergonomics.

Razer DeathAdder Elite

One of the most important thing in the mouse where the Deathadder still definitely delivers, it’s on the sensor. It’s Razer’s second-best sensor only bested by the one used on the Viper and the Basilisk these days but it’s still a great optical sensor. It’s very accurate, it’s very quick, attractive moving beautifully.

All the buttons on the mouse have seemed to keep just working beautifully across the years. There are no miss clicks, no double clicks. The scroll wheel is definitely the lowest point I think about the design. It tends to be sometimes a little squeaky and some people have complained that if you use the Deathadder Elite in more humid climates, the rubber grips on the side tend to come off.

SOFTWARE:

Logitech G403 Prodigy

As a cherry on top and surrounding everything is Logitech’s gaming software application with which you can set up your macros, do some surface tuning, check out the battery level and your keypress heat map, and most importantly, change the style and color of the RGB lighting. You can also program all of the buttons in the mouse which will be very useful.

Razer DeathAdder Elite

There is a software called Razer Synapse owned by Razer. This software allows you to configure everything in your mouse like doing settings on your mobile phone, so you can easily change the setting as per your choice via this software. Here, you can configure the macros to any buttons on the mouse, you can program all of the buttons as per your game.

You can also set the RGB lighting effect as you like. There are two places where the lighting is placed is the thin line on the scroll wheel and the Razer logo where your palm rests. You can also set many things like DPI, scroll wheel speed, etc,. You will find many useful settings in the Razer Synapse software. This software is very simple to use, so you don’t feel any mess with this one.

WHICH TO BUY?

Both are well performable wired mice from most know companies. The price of both the Logitech G403 Prodigy and Razer Deathadder Elite mouse is also the same. The shape and features are also not very different. So, in my opinion, both are best and both are worth buying. It will be up to your decision that which mouse is the most suitable one for you considering the design, features, and everything.

Expert Reviews of Razer DeathAdder Elite:

By Techspot
The Razer DeathAdder Elite preserves the same comfortable and ergonomic design that we know and love, with a few improvements inside and out, most importantly endurance. While it’s billed as a gaming mouse, its simple, effective design makes it suitable for any type of user.

By CGM
While the Deathadder Elite is a more visually subdued peripheral, it makes up for it with its top tier sensor and good switches.

By Armchairempire
If you’re exclusively into MMOs or FPSes you may want to consider opting for a genre-specific mouse, but the Elite is one of the best mice out there for any other type of gamer. Razer’s DeathAdder line is universally lauded for a reason, and this latest iteration does nothing but bolster that reputation.

By Gameaxis
10 years is plenty of time to perfect a product that was born pretty close to perfect anyway. it’s hard to think of other improvements (apart from sensor upgrades) they can make while retaining its sane price point. For that, it remains (and deserves to be) one of the most efficient, versatile and comfortable gaming mice the market has to offer.

By Asiaone
The Elite is a substantial upgrade to the DeathAdder line, with a new sensor and switches, and it will appeal to both DeathAdder fans and new users alike.
