Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G502 Hero

It probably went a Logitech’s most popular mouse ever. They made three versions of it, the core and it was limited with your color choices for lighting and they made the spectrum which brought the 3366 sensors and RGB and they rerelease the G502 now with the hero sensor and a better cable.

Razer DeathAdder Elite

This mouse is an advanced version of the Deathadder Chroma. This mouse also has many useful gaming features and almost the same as the G502 Hero.

DESIGN  & COMFORT:

Logitech G502 Hero

The mouse weighs at 121 grams without the cable, with the cable you’re looking at 125 grams. So, it’s a heavy mouse, the same weight as our steel series. The height of 5.2 inches and then you also have your depth of 1.57 inches and your width of almost 3 inches. It’s the same shape from the previous entries, it’s just internals and the cable that’s been changed around.

You can put different weights inside. When you open up your box, you’re gonna get not only the mouse but you’re gonna get five different weights and the nice thing about this is you can customize it. If you want to add the weights just put two or three in the back, you can put them on the side or front. So, you come down what you want and what you prefer but always having options is always going to be a better feature to have than not having it at all.

Razer DeathAdder Elite

The braided fiber cable is 2.13 meters or 7 feet long with a cool green style USB connector. The shape of the entire mouse is just perfectly sculpted to fit your hand. It doesn’t matter what self grip you use, all of them would work with the Elite but it is mostly for palm style grips users, so just keep that in mind. The design just fits the shape perfectly, no matter what size hands you have.

On the left side of the Elite where you get a pair of some buttons and a thumb grip. The thumb buttons are quite large but that makes them easy to find and press while you’re in a heated battle but 90% of the time my thumb was on the rubber grip just below the buttons. The grip is quite small but just the perfect size to fit your thumb. The grip does a very good job of preventing a thumb from sliding around things a bit sweaty. So, you don’t have to worry about losing grip which does come to happen on some mice when you’re playing for a long period. The Elite does make it slice inwards curves as well but that just improves the comfort of the grip and the thumb button.

On the right side, you get a slight angular outward curve and a bit larger rubber grip. The curve is there so that your ring finger has some space to rest on top off. It’s not a full-fledged ring finger wrist but it does the job just as well. Like the left side, the grip does a very good job of preventing your pinky finger from sliding around when it gets a bit sweaty and because it’s a bit bigger, it doesn’t matter where you put your pinky, it will always be on top of the grip. Now, the front is where this is lacking a bit.

FEATURES & PERFORMANCE:

Logitech G502 Hero

They’ve trimmed the cable down on this one but I still say you can see the stiffness in it. They could have done a better job with it, they don’t classify this mouse as their eSports lineup. A lot of people within the professional team do use this mouse, I think that’s why they didn’t go with a braided cable. That’s gonna be something along the lines of a competitive nature or even the new cable from the G Pro wired, a small rubberized and I really like a lot.

It has 11 buttons, so you have your DPI shifter and this is awesome. For instance, I would play in that Ring of Elysium and if you hold it down, you can set it within the software to just lower DPI down and you can move a lot more sensitive when you streaming. Then from there, you have your up and down button. There is your DPI changer granted you can always customize. You have the new updated Logitech G logo. There is also your profile changer but you can also customize this.

One thing I loved about the G900 and G903 is going to be the wheel. Now, this wheel is metal, I don’t like that much the structure of it but the feature of being able to click this in and you get the hyper spin which is nice. I mean, this is like the OG of fidget spinners. It’s just something to kind of tinker with or if you are editing and you need to drastically move something, you can hit this on and go about your way. You can tilt this scroll wheel, it has that feature.

Razer DeathAdder Elite

The left and right mouse buttons have a bit of a curve to them as well but both are perfectly shaped to fit your fingers. Razer uses its mechanical switches to give the button an extremely fall response. The left and right mouse buttons are quite sensitive and don’t need a lot of pressure to press, with the previous model which I had the right-click were even more sensitive and if you weren’t used to it, a lot of times you pressed it by accident but with the Elite, the right-click is a bit stiffer. So, you don’t have to worry about accidentally pressing it.

Between the left and right mouse buttons is a scroll wheel which is RGB illuminated. The scroll wheel has a tactile rubber grip which gives you more control while scrolling. I perceive still like the previous model script which was just smooth with no bumps, it just felt a bit more subtle but I do understand why they did it.

Gamers want as much control as possible when gaming, so a smooth surface isn’t really that ideal for gaming but then just behind the scroll is a pair of DPI switches. These switches are a very welcome feature to the DeathAdder series. The previous model didn’t have these and is something I wanted. They are thin and quite flat, so you don’t have to worry about them getting in a way but they are very easy to press while gaming.

Also, the Elite doesn’t have a DPI level indicator on the mouse itself and says that added it to your computer. So, when you change the DPI levels, a bar will appear on the right side of your screen telling you on what level you’re on and this is a pretty cool feature. The Razer logo is full RGB, you’re able to change the color and the effects of both the logo and the scroll wheel in the synapse software.

Underneath the mouse, you get two large anti-slip pads with the 5G optical sensor. The two large glide pads do make the mouse-like slight smoother compared to the previous model which only has three small ones. The 5G optical sensor has a massive 16,000 DPI and inches per second of 450, whereas the previous model only had a DPI of 10,000 and the inches per second of 200, so you won’t ever have to worry about that your mouse isn’t accurate enough. Also, the previous optical sensor didn’t really work on glossy surfaces but the new 5G sensor doesn’t have that problem and works perfectly on almost any surface.

The positive things are this is extremely comfortable design, the super-accurate sensor, the DPI switches, the software, and the beautiful RGB illumination. Unfortunately, there are also some negatives, they are it’s a bit pricey, it doesn’t feature removable weights, although it is the perfect weight for me a lot of people might want to make it a bit heavier. It does have a bit of cheap plastic feel to it although it won’t break that easily.

The super-comfortable design combined with the extremely accurate sensor makes a DeathAdder Elite one of the best FPS mice out there. You will never feel that your mouse is the thing that’s keeping you back.

SOFTWARE:

Logitech G502 Hero

There is a Logitech G hub software and just gonna recognize everything that you have plugged in into your computer. With the g502 Hero, you’re gonna click on it and you’re gonna have your light sync option. Now, your primary is gonna be your DPI, the thing that tells you what dpi setting you have and you can have that under a couple of different options to fix, cycle, breathing, screen sampler, audio visualizer. I can pair this mouse with my G560 speakers, so while the mouse doesn’t have a lot of RGB options and not a lot to show for, it is cool that I can kind of pair everything together.

In RGB, if we go to a fixed style, so that’s just gonna be fixed, it’s just gonna be a solid color. If we go to cycle, it’s going to cycle through other colors, you can change the speed and the brightness on that. You can do breathing where you choose a color and it just kind of goes in and out. Your screen sampler is going to be like you can choose what corner you want, so if I want that corner it’s going to show the same color or very similar to that which is really nice and then Audio visualizer, it’s gonna flicker and just kind of move to the beat of like any base that you set up. So that’s nice as well.

You have your assignments right here, these are all your buttons layouts that you can mess with, not anything that you haven’t seen before when it comes to mouse software. You can do up to five profiles by the way, so that’s nice. We have something of up to five profiles, you can set your macros, you can even have OBS shortcuts built right into it which is awesome. In sensitivity, I play at 400, the yellow mark is gonna be your DPI shift, so that’s when you hold this down, and whatever that yellow number is gonna be that’s what it’s gonna replicate when you’re playing a game. On the software itself, your polling rate always keeps a thousand if you can, nothing too special it’s the same stuff.

Razer DeathAdder Elite

The synapse software that you can go download from Razor’s website. First off, we have the customization tab where you can select the profile, you can create or delete one, you can import or export one as well. You have your profiles over here, you can link a program. You want the specific key to link your premier. So, you can just link that to the premier and then it’ll save all the buttons you assign to that software. Also, you will have all your Razor products, so just use to switch between them easily. Then, you have your button, all the nine buttons. You can click on one and then select an assignment to them what you want to have multimedia. Even your scroll wheel can customize.

Next up, we have the performance here, you have your DPI levels and everything you configure the sensitivity stages over here. So, for each of the five sensitivity levels, you can change the DPI levels, you can add acceleration to it if you want to, you can even as change the polling rate which is cool. After that, we have lighting.

You can set this as static, breathing, long time, and spectrum. Static gives one solid color, breathing color switches between two or more colors slowly. If you set long time lighting, whenever you touch the mouse the color will stop showing. The Spectrum will give a cycle of 16.8 million colors. The only thing you can’t set is the speed of it. There is also brightness, you can turn on them, and then if you switch off your computers and it’s going to switch the mouse, the lighting as well.

WHICH TO BUY?

Both the mouse performs quite well. In my opinion, if you’re more into ergonomic then definitely G502 Hero will be great. If you want more classic gaming mouse then you can choose Razer DeathAdder Elite. You can also decide yourself like which one will suit you more by this detailed review.

Expert Reviews of Logitech G502 Hero:

Logitech’s line of gaming peripherals have always proven that it just doesn’t do these accessories just for the sake of doing them – but in fact, it offers a whole new way of how you can enjoy playing your games.

By Techradar
Logitech’s new Hero sensor improves on the landmark G502, but a few build improvements may have helped it better keep up with SteelSeries’ best.

By Gamecrate
The Logitech G502 Hero is a great mouse, but Logitech might have played it a bit too safe – it’s just not that much of a significant upgrade from the G502. But for those in the market for the latest and great gaming mouse, however, the Hero will make you realize why countless gamers have fallen in love with Logitech’s G502.

By Channelnews
If you are already a proud user of Logitech’s G502 mouse, there isn’t enough of an upgrade to justify the cost, unless you want to experience the HERO 16K sensor, and want to have the best of everything when it comes to gaming.

By Pcworld
If you already have a G502, there’s not much reason to upgrade to the new version—it’s basically identical. But if you’re looking for a new gaming mouse, or maybe your first gaming mouse? The G502 Hero is a top-tier option. Time hasn’t dampened its appeal one bit.

Expert Reviews of Razer DeathAdder Elite:

By Techspot
The Razer DeathAdder Elite preserves the same comfortable and ergonomic design that we know and love, with a few improvements inside and out, most importantly endurance. While it’s billed as a gaming mouse, its simple, effective design makes it suitable for any type of user.

By CGM
While the Deathadder Elite is a more visually subdued peripheral, it makes up for it with its top tier sensor and good switches.

By Armchairempire
If you’re exclusively into MMOs or FPSes you may want to consider opting for a genre-specific mouse, but the Elite is one of the best mice out there for any other type of gamer. Razer’s DeathAdder line is universally lauded for a reason, and this latest iteration does nothing but bolster that reputation.

By Gameaxis
10 years is plenty of time to perfect a product that was born pretty close to perfect anyway. it’s hard to think of other improvements (apart from sensor upgrades) they can make while retaining its sane price point. For that, it remains (and deserves to be) one of the most efficient, versatile and comfortable gaming mice the market has to offer.

By Asiaone
The Elite is a substantial upgrade to the DeathAdder line, with a new sensor and switches, and it will appeal to both DeathAdder fans and new users alike.
