INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G560

The Logitech G560 is a 2.1 speaker system, which is the first speaker system in the market that comes with RGB lighting. As these are 2.1 systems there will be two satellite speakers that have the RGB and one subwoofer for the extraordinary sound out of these. These also feature the G hub software of the Logitech. These speakers are currently retailing for around a hundred and eighty dollars.

Logitech Z906

The Logitech Z906 is a 5.1 speaker system which means it comes with two front speakers, two rear speakers, and one subwoofer. These are retailing for around two hundred and forty-eight dollars currently, which seems to be a higher price but it is not because there are many 5.1 speakers retailing for a more price than these but still sounds the same as this.

DESIGN:

Logitech G560

The G560 is a 2.1 speaker setup meaning you get a dedicated subwoofer plus 2 left and right channel speakers. As for that subwoofer, make sure you take off the sticker on the front if you want to keep that nice and clean looking setup. This thing is powerful that’s due to the 6.5-inch bottom-firing subwoofer and it does stand at around 15 inches tall. But this is the power source and where all your connectivity is gonna take place. On the back, you can connect your left and right channel speakers with the db9 cables as well as an aux port, and your micro USB to connect it to your PC.

Then for the satellite speakers themselves are nice and simple looking, the design here is modern, they’re definitely not going to be an eyesore on your desk. It doesn’t have that crazy RGB lighting inside but it’s worth it. On the back of the right speaker is your power button with a Bluetooth button right above that, and you also have a headphone jack as well. Then on top of the actual speakers, you have your volume controls with a plus and minus, and a G button.

By default, the G is meant for actually lowering the LED brightness but you can go inside the software and change that to have to be whatever function you want. Other than that, the speaker itself fits in nicely on a desk setup, that’s woven mesh texture and very simple design. On the back of the speaker, we have a frosted shell before the RGB LED lights it behind. This is how it can project smooth colors behind your monitor onto your wall, we also have two LED lights on the front side of the speaker to illuminate this like tunnel-like texture.

Logitech Z906

Aesthetic design is pretty much what speakers should be. They are dark and discreet and should match any room you choose to put them in. The satellites are all wall mountable if you want to go that route. The amount of speaker cable included is actually quite crazy considering the size of these speakers, there’s enough cable to put these speakers in any size room.

The receiver has outputs to each speaker as well as five audio inputs, a direct TRS connection to interface directly with your PC, stereo RCA, two optical connections, a coaxial connection as well as a serial interface for connecting the control console too. The control console also includes an aux input for connecting your phone as well as a headphone pass-through for when you don’t feel like using the speakers.

The light sync screen sampling effect is taking snippets from the sides of the display and it will extend that color onto the wall. It will briefly betray whatever that is going on behind the monitor. One cool thing is if you are an ultra-wide user, and if you want a game at a regular 16 by 9 ratio whatever, it’s so gonna sample from the actual gameplay and not just show nothing behind the monitors because of the black bars inside of the screen. This goes for not only gaming but dealing with regular content or videos as well.

Also, you can choose to turn this feature off but on your keyboard, if it is synced up, it’s also gonna with the colors to be portrayed on your keyboard as well. It kind of like breaks the keyboard up into two halves and shows you what’s being betrayed behind your monitors. Inside the lighting tab in the software, you can go in and select where you want the colors to be pulled from on your screen. What this does while you’re gaming is just so good and unique that it really gets you more immersed in the games you’re playing. The main thing here is immersion, it’s really really good. But in their game-driven lighting and it’s a very small sample of games unfortunately which are compatible with this.

Since the RGB lighting is plugged into your PC but the subwoofer is also powered by plugging into your wall, the lights still do remain on, you can turn it off manually but it is kind of an annoying thing. Although in the software, there is a sleep timer that you can enable but they should just shut off by default when your PC turns off. Also, this awesome immersive RGB lighting is kind of gonna work best with a single monitor setup only in my opinion.

Logitech Z906

For many people out there, these wouldn’t exactly be classified as cheap but when you’re looking at a 5.1 speaker system this is pretty long and stuff and you probably don’t want to go much cheaper. The Z906 is an excellent value for money. Included in the rather large box are 5 satellite speakers, four of them are for front and rear on either side, and one is for the front Center. Also included is the sizable receiver/subwoofer, a command console, and remote control.

The console is easy enough to understand with input selection and stereo mode selection. You can choose between a 2.1 setup where only the front two speakers and the subwoofer are used, a 4.1 setup, and a full 3d 5.1 setup. There is also a mute button and independent volume control for each speaker set, so you can adjust just the front speakers, just the rear speakers, or whatever you want. There is also an enormous volume wheel for well adjusting the volume. These controls are all replicated on the remote that comes with as well.

SOUND QUALITY:

Logitech G560

One of the very important aspects of gaming speakers is how do they sound and in that respect, these are by far the best sounding speakers along with RGB at this price. All of these speakers are insanely loud but the subwoofer packs more punch. This subwoofer gives some serious bass to your music and games. These speakers are loud even when I never had the volume turned above 40%. The sound these produce at even 40% itself is easily gonna fill your bedroom and definitely your entire living room with no problems at all.

There is no audio distortion to report when maxed out. With the base being super effective, you don’t really have the emphasis on a lot of you lower frequencies and the actual speakers but that’s okay because the subwoofer does its job well. Because of the bass, I would say the finer higher details in your audio might be lost in some situations but there is a way to fix that.

Inside the software, there are two separate tabs for your audio. One is going to be your presets and EQ but one thing I would recommend you consider, create your own EQ and still keep all the levels the same as default but bump your treble to three that I think really makes up for the overpowering bass, which you can turn down and hear if you want. It’s gonna help give you those higher-end frequencies with some extra clarity. They also have their DTS:X surround sound which is emulated, it’s pretty good with positional audio but honestly, it does feel like muddy out a lot to the finer details and clarity.

Logitech Z906

The sound quality is really very good like better than you’d think for something at this price. I’ve used two-point one speaker systems that cost the same as these and they don’t sound as good. These aren’t perfect, the speakers tend to submerge on the mid and low range, with the high end sounding slightly bland to me. Though it’s still clear, the subwoofer delivers pretty hefty bass without muddying it up noticeably and you get some really enjoyable listening experiences, especially out of percussion.

The sound signature is best described as good at everything but it’s not great at anything. The volume these can push though, is actually really pretty great. At about half volume with the pc maxed out, it was loud enough that it can bang your ears and head. Even at high volume, the sound remains clear and undistorted. If your question is, are they home theater speakers or speakers for your gaming PC, the answer to that is that they occupy the in-between space in the market that makes them suitable for both.

If you just want good speakers that will bring immersion to your lounge room, these are a really great option. For your PC again great option, games will really come alive in a way that cheaper speakers just can’t pull off. Good sound is as important as good graphics when it comes to an awesome gaming experience and in that respect, these sounds really great for the money.

WHICH ONE IS GOOD FOR GAMING?

In my opinion, you should buy the Logitech G560 if you want a speaker set for a good gaming experience because the soundstage was amazing on these, really nice high-quality audio coming out of these things with some crazy powerful bass. The speakers themselves are made nicely and obviously the crazy, awesome, and immersive light sync features with the RGB lighting on these speakers are really great.
