Detail Review

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G602 wireless

This is quite an old mouse comparing other Logitech upcoming mouses. Even though it’s a little bit old, it does suit for this period of time also and I think it’s still competitive. An example of that is the looks of this mouse is somewhere similar to the G502 mouse.

Logitech G603 Lightspeed

This mouse looks so simple, it is that much simple that as a gaming mouse, it even doesn’t have an RGB lighting system on the mouse. Because of that simple design, it can also be used as a productivity mouse for long periods of time.

DESIGN & COMFORT:

Logitech G602 wireless

This mouse put a different way into the design of this mouse. The first one is the rugged materials. So, the finish on the top is a slightly textured hard plastic finish for the left and right mouse buttons, a rubberized textured finish for the palm rest, and then a more textured matte black that goes all the way around the right side of the mouse, all the way to the back and then around the left side where your thumb rests. This is much sleeker, more streamlined, more optimized for gaming. The whole idea behind the science of this design really wins, these materials aren’t going to wear out.

The buttons in this mouse are rated for twenty million clicks each which is outstanding but feet on the bottom are rated for 250 kilometers of travel and there’s quite a large surface area to them both around the outsides of the mouse as well as around the optical sensor.

Logitech G603 Lightspeed

It is all plastic build. It is pretty decently built. It is soft-touch plastic around but I find it a little too slippery for my hand. It is very ergonomic and it’s very comfortable to use. Even if you have a big hand, it is very comfortable although a little heavy mouse. It is a very ergonomic mouse, just a little too slippery from my hand. There is no RGB at all on this mouse. The only thing you have is the DPI switch button and have a little LED next to it that can light different colors depending on what DPI settings you have.

Taking off the cover is magnetically held in place, this is where you will put in your batteries and also where you find those Omron switches. I haven’t had any issues with Omron switches. The cover there on the top is actually not just a plastic cover, there are some mechanical details inside making it a little more comfortable to actually press the button and a little more accurate movement.

This weighs around 89 grams with no batteries, 112 grams with one alkaline battery, and 135 grams with two alkaline batteries. You can also run this mouse with only one battery, you don’t have to use two batteries and also you can use lithium batteries if you want to keep the weight down or you can also use AAA batteries, you need some kind of adapter for that as well and also account for the weight of such an adapter. It is light as it can be and actually I find it quite comfortable to use. It definitely has great ergonomics which is for only right-hand users.

FEATURES & PERFORMANCE:

Logitech G602 wireless

It has 11 programmable buttons. There are some very sensitively laid out G keys. This is where I find this mouse to be kind of in-between FPS and MMO. If you look at the layout of the buttons on the left, there’s enough that you could get some tools and there’s sort of more than you might need for a typical FPS if you just need push-to-talk, throw grenade, melee, but I personally think there’s a really good balance because I can actually reach them all. You might want more buttons, the reality of it is you’re not going to be able to tactile, you feel a lot of them anyway. This is very comfortable even with smaller hands and very reachable which is cool.

On the top, two more programmable buttons up there, so these are by default bound to DPI. So, you have five different DPI settings works just the same way as many other Logitech mice do but you can remap them to macros or other functionality or whatever else the case may be.

In the box, they’ve included a wireless dongle which is extremely low profile, not their Universal receiver which can have up to 6 different devices because this is a gaming-grade one, and then you’ve also got a little extension, so you can plug get into your USB port and then have it sit somewhere a little bit closer to you mice.

This is an optical mouse. It is a sort of closer to $100 optical mouse that only runs at 2500 DPI. You may think that I could get a higher DPI Mouse for that money but would you need that much high DPI. This is a return to practicality is the DPI race over, Logitech may be practically designed the mouse in this G602 which is fascinating because 2500 DPI is more than enough in my point of view. Some people do particularly like very high sensitivity but many don’t, and some people are noticing issues particularly with laser mice which the very high DPI Mouse tend to be and acceleration issues and we shouldn’t see any of that. On the bottom, you have a power switch, so you can turn it off or you can turn it on. Also, at the bottom check it out for AA batteries.

They’re claiming that it is gaming-grade wireless, so no perceivable latency. However, it should be noted that this mouse only does 500 Hertz, so 500 reports per second. We’ve seen gaming mice that are capable of 1000 but that really raises the question that can people feel the difference between 500 Hertz and a 1000 and how would that affect battery life.

Logitech G603 Lightspeed

This is the lightspeed wireless gaming mouse, also has both Bluetooth and Lightspeed. It also has the Hero sensor, it’s a fairly good sensor. It is also a kind of heavy gaming mice. Logitech recommends that you have the receiver within 20 centimeters of the mouse and also includes a little adapter there, so you can actually extend the little receive.

This is a fairly inexpensive gaming mouse. It has Omron switches, some people have complained about double-clicking. The buttons feel quite nice to press and you have the little switch on the bottom to select between high and low. On the bottom, you also have the Hero sensor and you can switch between Bluetooth and Lightspeed. The LED light is the only RGB point of the mouse is switching between different DPI settings. So, you really know which setting you’re on depending on what color that DPI setting actually represents.

For customizations and settings, you have to download the G Hub software. I’ve had no real complaints about the G Hub software, I think it’s pretty good. Once installed, you will find your mouse there. If you have connected it with the little nano receiver, you can set up what each specific buttons will do or you can disable the button if you don’t want to use it. Any settings you can see on the left side, you can just drag them over to the specific button you want to program.

In the software, you have the sensitivity settings, it comes pre-installed with four DPI settings, 400, 800, 1600, and 3200 and you just switch between those with the little DPI button on the mouse and you can see the different color settings of the specific DPI settings, so you could change depending on the color of your mouse. You can also save the profile to your mouse, you have on-board storage on the mouse itself and you don’t really have the software opened in the background. It is quite a nice software and you can actually see when you’re switching DPI a little notification down in the left corner.

BATTERY:

Logitech G602 wireless

The more impressive thing about this mouse is the battery life of this mouse. Logitech is quoting 250 hours if you have both batteries installed on continuous gaming. In gaming performance mode, so like if you could actually game for 250 hours straight then you could probably drain both batteries. You don’t have to use both batteries if you want to adjust the weight and the weight distribution, you can install just one battery either in the right or in the left and you’ll get about 125 hours.

You can also switch it to endurance mode using the switch on the top and then you will actually get green, in which you can get up to 1400 hours of battery life on a single charge. So, this is a prime candidate for just having a couple of rechargeable batteries nearby.

Logitech G603 Lightspeed

It uses two AA batteries and can have a very good battery life. It claims up to 500 hours of battery life, that’s pretty impressive and you can actually get even more if you’re running in the low power mode. I think the battery life is unbeatable. You will shorten the battery life depending on what kind of battery you use. If you only have one battery using, it will only be 250 hours, not 500 at the high setting.

WHICH TO BUY?

If you want a mouse for FPS or MMO gaming or if you like the design of the G502 mouse but want it at a lower price, then G602 is definitely for you. If you’re gaming probably not fast-paced shooter games like modern warfare but other types of game, the G603 is definitely a great and accurate mouse, with fantastic battery life as well. You can set it up specifically the way you want with the specifically better battery type that you feel comfortable with and the weight can go up and down depending on what kind of batteries you have in there. Also, if you’re doing some productivity, the G603 is a very comfortable mouse to have to keep using in your hand for long periods of time. So, definitely, if you are both gaming and you are into productivity work, it is an excellent mouse.

In this, you have to decide for what type of gaming you need the mouse by considering the price, design, grip style, also features.
