Detail Review
INTRODUCTION:
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6
This tablet presents a full set of accessories like laptops, so this will be a great alternative to the laptop. The Tab S6 comes with a keyboard with a trackpad, a stylus for convenient use. This whole package really worth the price. Also, the display and the features make this one special.
Apple iPad Pro
In this product, Apple edges the iPad a little more towards the Macbook-end of the spectrum with a new iPad-only flavor of mouse and trackpad support. Until you see the new ultra-wide camera and lidar sensor that Apple also put on the back for some reason.
DESIGN & DISPLAY:
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6
You just immediately fell in love with this design. It has much thinner bezels than the iPad Air which is really looking outdated. It also came with the s pen which is great, you don’t have to buy that separately like you would have had to do with the apple pencil and it had optional keyboard support.
This tablet’s design is just amazing with a thin metal body and bezel-less display, rounded corners, it really rivals the design of something like the iPad Pro. The Tab S6 has four speakers with incredible quality, they are honestly like surprisingly loud. The speakers on this tablet are really impressive. You all have any problem consuming any media, playing any games, it really does the stereo aspect of it, really engages you in whatever content you’re watching or playing.
The screen quality is the other huge selling point of this tablet. You can’t even compare it to the iPad Air, you can compare to the iPad Pros but not to an apple product of the same price category which is the iPad Air. The display is a 10.5 inch super AMOLED display. It’s incredibly crisp and incredibly bright as well even outdoors, you don’t have any problem. Also, the glass of the tablet is right on top of the display, there’s no air gap like you might find on some of apple’s cheaper iPads or Samsung’s cheaper tablets. So, what that means is that when you’re writing or drawing, the tip of the pen looks as if it’s touching the display, it doesn’t look like it’s hovering above the display which is what you get when you have that air gap between the glass and the display.
There are also some negatives in this tablet. Firstly and actually, this is quite a major one. It’s the screen size of the tablet that I don’t really like. Unlike the iPad Pro which goes up to an impressive 12.9 inches, I found the 10.5 inches of the Tab S6 to be a little cramped and what further adds to this is the 16 by 10 aspect ratio. Now, this aspect ratio is great for media consumption because films are shot in this wider aspect ratio. So, you don’t get those black letterboxes and it makes the film just or whatever content you’re watching just that much more engaging but when it comes to writing and drawing, it just too narrow for me in portrait mode.
Apple iPad Pro
The size of this tablet is 12.9 inch which is large enough to work but gaming in this tablet may be a little bit difficult. This one looks more sleek and thin compared to the old one. There are no major differences in design and physical specifications. There are more storage options in this tablet. There is also an 11-inch model in this new iPad Pro which will be $200 less in cost. This tablet is mainly made with the purpose of using a laptop device and also a tablet. So, the 12.9 inches will fulfill that purpose perfectly.
Otherwise, the design and feel of this new iPad Pro is the same one as the old iPad Pro. It comes in slate gray, silver colors and it weighs around 1.41 pounds. You can also purchase a separate mouse and keyboard to set up like a MacBook.
There is no headphone jack on the tablet. There are quad speakers on the bottom and top of the tablet which make an excellent stereo separation. There is just a single port of USB-C for fast charging.
SPECIFICATIONS & PERFORMANCE:
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6
The Apple app store has some exclusive applications that you just can’t find on android. Some of which I really liked, for example, notability, an apple exclusive note-taking app that is very popular among students with its wide array of tools and features, to be honest, I did struggle to find a good alternative on the android side. When it came to all other applications, social media, video streaming, gaming, these are pretty well matched. They didn’t really have any problems like trying to find anything else. Google’s play store is vast, it has an incredible amount of applications and on the whole, you won’t really find any problems in trying to get an application that you want. Both iPad OS which is Apple’s operating system and One UI which is Samsung’s operating system run incredibly well, really easy just to navigate everything, no glitches, no lagging.
Samsung has come a long way in terms of optimizing their software. However, Samsung offered something with their Tab S6 that made up for iPad’s superior app store and that was Dex. Dex is Samsung’s way of making your tablet act more like a laptop. When you put the tablet into Dex mode which you can see from the drop-down menu or if you have the keyboard attached, you can just use a short key to activate it. It puts the tablet into this desktop-like windows desktop-like interface which is great for multitasking because what you can do is you can open up multiple windows and you can snap them, you can have it split screened and you can just do much more in this setting if you wanted to use it as a laptop. Dex is made for mouse input and keyboard input and ultimately, this feature of Samsung’s tablet of the Tab S6 may push you to buy over the iPad Air bundle.
The good thing about this tablet is that it has an under-display fingerprint scanner. You can actually unlock it with your fingerprint directly onto the screen. Now, it’s not the fastest thing in the world, maybe the traditional style of fingerprint scanners are much faster but it’s there and it’s an option that you can use.
It comes with a pretty outdated Snapdragon 855 processor but to be honest, the performance of it hasn’t changed. It also comes with 6 or 8 gigabytes of RAM depending on the storage model that you get. The performance has really just been quite amazing. I haven’t really found any glitches or hasn’t lagged at all, and you will have no issues in multitasking or playing games, load up some call of duty. The snapdragon 855 processor is still a very capable chip. iPad Pros are faster than 92 of all the portable pcs sold in the last 12 months. Now, if you don’t have any applications that make full use of Apple’s bionic chipsets and to be honest, then I just don’t find it’s worth paying that extra money for processing power that I’m not really ever going to use.
The Tb S6 comes with an SD card slot on the side. When you run out of storage or you need to transfer files, you just have that option that no Apple devices have and Apple charge you much much more to have higher storage than it would just buy 64 gigabytes or 128 gigabytes SD card. You could buy the base model, lower storage of the Tab S6 for quite much less price, and then just pop an SD card slot in it.
Apple iPad Pro
In iPad Pro, Apple was trying to help the iPad Pro be more useful as a computer with iPad-OS-specific features. They called the iPad Pro a, “new way to take notes, make music, or create a presentation.” This is for better or for worse a distinctly different way from both a computer and a traditional tablet.
In the initial release of iPad OS last year, the iPad got better navigation gestures and some cool features that negated the need for some keyboard shortcuts like pinching your fingers to copy and spreading them to paste. Those kinds of optimizations made us think that the iPad Pro might just be a good option for people who have to get work done but are less inclined to sit at a desk hunched over a tiny screen. So then, it’s a bit confusing to find ourselves playing with the 2020 iPad Pro running iPad OS 13.4, which now has full-blown mouse and trackpad support. Instead of leaning further into the iPad Pro’s identity as a unique handheld computing device, it seems like Apple has decided it wants to make the iPad Pro into a Macbook after all.
The 2020 iPad Pro is not a big upgrade over the 2018 model. In fact, it is basically the same tablet. While the whole 2020 iPad Pro lineup does now come with 6 GB of RAM and they all get the A12Z Bionic processor, on paper that is essentially the same chip as A12X Bionic that is in the 2018 model with a single additional core and GPU bringing the total up to eight. That was actually confirmed by out Greekbench test, a very slight increase in multi-core performance. The base model of the 2020 iPad Pro does come with 128 GB of storage now instead of 64.
The only other major changes to be found on this device are actually in the camera module. In addition to the standard 12-megapixel lens, we now get a new 10-megapixel ultrawide lens for all of those people who vlog with iPads. Then, next to that, a really interesting one; that’s a LiDAR sensor. Lidar stands for light detection and ranging, and it works by sending out infrared light then measuring how long it takes for it to hit something and come back. This new sensor is supposed to be a boon for augmented reality content, although, in our tests, it didn’t seem to make AR content on the new iPad Pro any more compelling. Object inclusion in Ikea’s AR shopping app was about the same as on the 2018 iPad Pro.
In the measure app, the 2018 iPad Pro actually seemed to do consistently better at measuring length, the new one was about an inch off. Some app developers have expressed excitement about the new sensor, though, with some early tests showing the effect that it can have on mapping virtual spaces onto physical ones. There are rumors going around that Apple will include a LiDAR sensor in the next fledge of iPhones. For now, it’s a fancy new sensor with not much in the way of software support, though.
ACCESSORIES:
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6
The thing I like about the Tab S6 is the included s-pen. It attaches magnetically to the back, it’s fairly strong, it doesn’t come off very easily. It’s great that Samsung’s Tab S6 comes with an s pen inside the box but it just doesn’t feel as premium as something like the apple pencil or even the pen on Samsung’s previous tablet. The actual functionality of the pen is great, it has good pressure sensitivity. It has good palm rejection, so you can write and put your palm on the screen and it won’t make any incorrect inputs but it’s just the quality of the pen and the design of the pen feels a little bit cheap and also the tip of the pen is just a little bit strange. The body of the pen doesn’t gradually flow into the tip, the body is quite flat at the end and it looks like they’ve stuck a tip onto it. This means that sometimes when drawing or even writing with too much of a tilt, the tip no longer touches the screen, and the pen input stops.
Now, the actual keyboard cover attaches magnetically. so, I do really like the fact that it comes with a trackpad. It’s an incredibly small trackpad and not very comfortable to use but it’s much better than not having any kind of trackpad at all. I also like the fact that the back cover and the keyboard are separate and you can attach the Samsung back cover onto it. When you detach it, you still get the back cover, so you still get the protection on your tablet when you don’t want to use the keyboard. Whereas something like Apple’s magic keyboard, when you detach the iPad that’s it the iPad will have no protection around it. However, what I hate about it is how it attaches, Samsung has done a poor job this year in terms of their designing on how this back cover attaches because no matter how hard I press against it, it just doesn’t fix to it properly. It’s just not a great design in terms of how it sticks onto the tablet.
Apple iPad Pro
They’re even releasing a keyboard folio with a built-in trackpad. Ipad OS pre-13.4 already had mouse support, but the thing is it was buried in the Assistive Touch section of accessibility options. It was designed as an Accessibility feature to help disabled people who might have trouble operating a touchscreen rather than a way for every iPad user to easily connect a mouse. It was a welcome addition but it was not the type of mouse support that a Windows or a MAC OS user would be accustomed to.
Now, mouse and trackpad support has been built in as a core part of the OS. Connect one via Bluetooth or even a USB-C dongle and a small gray pointer immediately pops up and morphs! This is not your tired, old desktop mouse pointer, this is an iPad Pro mouse pointer. The iPad pointer actually adapts to the shapes of things that it selects, which is supposed to make clicking them easier. After using it for a while we really can’t see an obvious benefit to this feature, but luckily you can just turn it off in the settings. Between the two of them, though, there are most of the options you’d expect, like adjusting pointer contrast, size, and color, changing the tracking and scrolling speed, and you can even assign functions to other buttons on the mouse. Although we were not able to get that last one working properly on an MX Master 2S, so your mileage may vary. It’s definitely not perfect, but overall the user experience with a mouse is a lot better than the last version of iPad OS where the pointer acted basically like a floating finger.
Now, you can right-click to bring up context menus and there’s support for scroll wheels, although frequent hitches and hangups do make it clear that things have been more optimized for a trackpad or the touch-surface of Apple’s Magic Mouse. There are also a number of new gestures that involve dragging the mouse-pointer outside of the screen. Dragging to the right will show or hide Slide Over apps. Dragging up to the top right brings down the control center. Dragging up anywhere else brings down the notification center, and there’s no gesture for dragging to the left.
In the tablet, drag down to bring up the dock, drag down further to go home, drag down again to enter multitasking, at which point you can actually drag down one more time to go home again! Now, these gestures were a little bit confusing at first, but we think that in less than an hour, most people are going to find them pretty useful, particularly dragging right to access slide Over. There are even more gestures that you can do with multiple fingers on a trackpad to go home and switch apps.
WHICH TO BUY?
Both the tablet is best in this period of time. All in all, the Tab S6 built incredibly well. The performance in the applications and the interface is just incredibly smooth and that performance hasn’t dipped over time. The screen size is still a bit of an issue but I’m looking forward to that bigger screen size on the Tab S7. The design is still as modern and fresh as the old one with small bezel and rounded corners. Dex has really allowed me to make the most of this device. This will be great as a package for every work. Apple’s intentions for the iPad seemed like they were championing the iPad Pro as this groundbreaking new way for people to do work on the go.
Both the tablet is nice to work with but Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is cheaper than Apple’s whole set of accessories but it does have some premium features. If you like Android and want a cheap tablet with some premium features then Galaxy Tab S6 will be good to buy. If you like Apple products a lot and have some more cash to spend then, of course, iPad Pro is great.

The new Magic Keyboard turns the iPad Pro into almost the perfect laptop replacement but there are still some gaps to fill.By Techadvisor
Apple’s new 12.9in iPad Pro is among the most powerful on the market right now, with the new A12Z chipset beating just about every competitor in benchmark tests, but it’s also one of the most expensive options in our chart. The huge 120Hz 12.9in display is great for graphics design, watching movies and browsing social media, but it’s not until you pair it with the Magic Keyboard that the potential becomes clear.By Macworld
The 2020 iPad Pro is a fantastic tablet, although you’ll find most of its improvements over the previous model in the camera array. This model now has a 10MP ultra-wide lens and a LiDAR sensor for augmented reality—both of which seem like they’d see little use on a tablet.By Engadget
The 2020 iPad Pro is a terrific tablet that, thanks to features like trackpad support and some under-the-hood tweaks, comes closer than ever to feeling like a traditional computer. It doesn’t quite get there because of some inherent iPadOS limitations, but there’s enough performance and flexibility here that I’ve largely been able to leave my laptop to the side.By Wired
This support of a trackpad and mouse pushes the iPad Pro even closer to “computer” territory. But that’s a debate for later. As much as I’ve used the iPad over the past five days, there were plenty of things I couldn’t test—like how the microphones fared in crowded, noisy environments, or how well the ultra-wide rear camera captured photos of large groups of friends.
