The Ultimate Ears Blast is one of the great Bluetooth speakers from the Ultimate Ears as this supports Amazon Alexa as a Voice assistant. This speaker is also retailing for a budget-friendly price of around ninety dollars currently. This speaker also features a water-proof and 12 hours of battery life.

Ultimate Ears Boom 2

Boom 2 from the Ultimate Ears by Logitech is the updated version speaker of the Boom speaker from the Ultimate Ears. This speaker is IPX7 water-proof and dust-proof which means you can wash this speaker to clean it if it gets dirty and this features 15 hours of battery life which is really great. This speaker is retailing for around a hundred and seventy dollars currently.

The Blast Bluetooth speaker from the Ultimate Ears is made of rubber and plastic material but it looks quite hard and very durable. As far as the button controls, there is a huge plus and minus button on the side of the speaker which is for volume up and down. Also, on the top of the speaker, you have got two buttons one is the power button with the LED, so when you turn it on it the LED will turn on and another button is the Bluetooth button, so when you press it the speaker will turn into Bluetooth pairing mode. At the bottom of the speaker is where you have got your micro USB charging port and the metal tip which supports wireless charging but for that, you need to buy the charging dock separately.

In terms of control, you only got the volume controls in the front of it, that is the plus button for volume up and the minus button for volume down. There are no controls all around the speakers are around it and you got the mesh material all around it which means you gonna get the sound come from all 360-degrees. On top of the speaker, you have got the power on and off button, and on the top of it, you have got a Bluetooth pairing button. At the bottom of the speaker, you have got two input ports one for charging this Bluetooth speaker which is micro USB, and a 3.5 mm auxiliary cable for non-Bluetooth supporting devices are available in the base of this Bluetooth speaker along with the lash to hook this speaker with your backpack.

It comes with some pretty artwork all around the box as like all other Ultimate Ears boxes. I really do like this packaging and I love it when people put good thought into the boxing experience. Inside the box, we’ve got the power-up section which says the basics, short press power on and off, voice control with Alexa, to install the Ultimate Ears app to get more features. Also, in the box, you have got your power brick which is very nice, and also they gave you a pretty lengthy cord which is a micro USB for charging.

The Ultimate Ears app is actually very nice and it hooks up through Amazon Alexa. The app shows which speaker you have got and you can connect it, you can see the status of the battery, which Wi-Fi it’s connected to, which Bluetooth device it is connected to, and also Alexa signed in. Also, you can create a group here with other Blast speakers and get a party Blast sound. You can also adjust your EQ settings for bass, mid, treble, all that good stuff, and also they have a few presets for you, and also, you can hit the mic in the app and talk to it.

The main and fantastic feature is a party up, so you can connect up to 150 plus Boom and Boom 2 as well as the Megaboom speakers together which is fantastic.

Using this app you can also upgrade the firmware of your Bluetooth speaker but you’re simply going into this system call get in here, and going down into the base right in there where it says speaker update, when you click on it, it will show you what version is available.

SOUND QUALITY:

Ultimate Ears Blast

This speaker sounds really loud enough and also these sound really great. This sounds better than the Amazon Echo range speakers and also better than the Sonos range speakers. This sounds incredibly loud and also gives equal sound quality everywhere with the 360-degree spatial sounding feature. I tested out these with different genres of music and it sounds good and there is no distortion even at the maximum volume.

Ultimate Ears Boom 2

The Ultimate Ears Boom 2 definitely sounds better than its predecessor the Boom. There is not really much change in this compared to its predecessor but the sound quality is definitely a great change or update using the equalizer in the app. It sounds really great even if you are not satisfied with the sound quality on this, you can also adjust the sound using the EQ settings in the app. By using the auxiliary port also this speaker sounds as you expect from a high-quality Bluetooth speaker.

WHICH TO BUY?

In my opinion, buying any of the products depends on what you prefer the most like a particular feature you need the most or your budgeted price level. If you want a good Bluetooth speaker for under a hundred dollars then the Ultimate Ears Blast is definitely good for you to buy for the price with the voice assistant. If you can afford more price then you can buy the Ultimate Ears Boom 2 speaker it definitely sounds better for the price than the Blast speakers and also has better battery life.
